They did with the motor...the 8.75 to the 10.00 helped tremendously, especially in thicker wet grass. I cut for myself and own 4 total, 2 older and 2 upgraded, one with electric start. I carousel them for longevity and they weigh much less than the commercials...had a toro and exmark, both where too heavy
@@timkayjr2958 Most of the commercial people who bought them,junked them after 1 or 2 seasons.
Understandable, the commercial mowers last much longer...steel levers instead of plastic...believe it or not the cables snap just as often on commercial as they do the residential, and this motor is more powerful than the FJ180v Kawasaki they put on the commercial mowers although the Kawasaki gives very little maintenance needed
The commercials last longer because they are more steel than plastic, it's also a reason they suck to actually operate...I take a personal pace over commercial everyday, just my personal preference
@@timkayjr2958 I forgot to mention that in order to adj mower clutch,you have to remove deck cover,loosen clamp,slide it back,tighten it,reassemble it,and then go. A "thumb wheel " on handle would be easier,faster,way to do this adj.the same goes for gnd drv.

Yeah, I think you are right. Didn't notice the Ridemaster, but the amount of leaves on the trees and the length/color of the grass looks more like August or September than mid-April to me....

Speaking from a commercial standpoint mowers like this are the only way we can mow backyard because people put 36 inch gates on their backyards I myself have a cub cadet 33 inch just for backyards thank y’all for yawls videos really love them you’ll do a great job

I've got a mowing business in Australia, and quoted 2 jobs with the same problem ,my 42inch hustler won't fit through gates ,and backyard is massive, so this mower will be perfect .
I really enjoy these new product release vids. It gives me a great heads up on what I will be seeing in my shop soon.

U didnt cover the drive gears and inner wheel teeth. That aspect should be addressed cuz ive repaired a few and its not cheap.
I love mine. I cut my mother in laws yard an my yard. Was using a 22 inch push to do both, about 1.5 acres total.

Love the channel Taryl. It should be f***ing illegal to build equipment without grease fittings and all these companies that have been responsible for engineering obsolescence into all this stuff should be forced to redesign everything to be serviceable like it should be. Not to mention they should have to replace the junk that's out there already at no charge to the customer. Another thing that should be prosecuted is making a carburetor without adjustments. One more is a lawn mower or anything else for that matter the doesn't have a throttle control and just starts wide ass open. All these things they do just so you have to spend money and so average people can't repair their own equipment. It's sick and should be dealt with harshly. Thanks for the knowledge and laughter.

That blue foam is designed to dissentigrate after 2 years and plug up the carb, 😆 . Honey, mower's broken, need a new one.
Price on these things went up 300 bucks in less than a year. Ridiculous.

I bought this mower last summer. It is a perfect mid size mower. I love it! It does a great job!

If they have grease zerks it's OK as long as you grease it as soon as you stop the water, the bearings really don't like water.
Toro does a good job of sending out demo's to consumers to get real feedback, then they fix the bugs. If u cant afford Honda level quality, go Toro
Honda doesn't have a 30" walk behind mower.
The spindles have sealed bearings so a grease fitting would not grease the bearings.
why not mention that it weighs a whopping 140 lbs. ? ..or mention the width ( 32" ) ?.. or show the width compared to an average gate opening ?.. or why didn't you know that the tank only holds 1.2 qt. of gas ( approximately 1hr of run time )...or how about the average retail price? Tractor Supply has these listed for $1200.00 ...SMH ..your very, VERY, V-E-R-Y poor @ reviewing equipment....jus say'n
Instead of using the wash out port just tilt it up for storage, and spray the underside off.
You won't waste gas doing it that way and it does a better job.

Yeah that’s what I do. Much easier and cleans better that way.
To aid in cleaning a newly bought mower. Add ceramic coating to the underside.
The Briggs engine gave up after 9 months. Replaced with the kohler cv224. So awesome. I love the timemaster because it’s really light compared to the turfmaster which I also have as a backup mower.
I don’t like how they try to mislead folks with the switch from hp to CCs .
It’s all about the bottom line and profits these days with these manufacturers.
Can’t get a quality built home owner grade without forking over commercial money these days.I understand why but it’s BS imho.

Sorry,but i must disagree. After working on them during my 10 yrs as a Toro mechanic, this is the sorriest piece of junk on the market. the timed belts jump timing,the blades hit each other,and self destruct. the transmission will last between 1-2 yrs.the engine is under-powered.the list goes on and on.
Lots and lots of plastic on that machine... 7hp is not enough for a dual blade mower either. UNIMPRESSIVE.
I use this pos daily. too heavy not user friendly. discharge shoot adapter is plastic and the knobs wear off preventing it from staying on and there for making it very frustrating to use in any height grass. falls off !!! ignition switch on handle bar is shit I've re-soldiered it 3 times in 3 years. buy Honda if you can it's better
Why did they put 10.00 for torque looks like there trying to trick people into thinking it's 10 HP I'd never buy one for that alone just put the correct HP and call it good don't be trying to trick someone

Have you had any problems with the Cub Cadet version of this mower? The Cc600? My main concern is with the 227cc motor.
Atomic GATOR blades. I remember their 'S' shaped blades but not the gators way back when. I've been running gators for years except on a Snapper with a Hi-vac setup. The Toro looks like a nice rig but I think I'll just keep on with the Roof 28 with the 8-horse Briggs I/C flat head and see what else it'll outlast. GBWYall!
The only trouble is it has a Briggs and Stratton engine. With a Honda engine it would likely be a great machine.
Search turfmaster hdx w/ kohler command engine
Had one of these for a few years now and I LOVE it! I’ve got between 1/2 and 3/4 acre, used a Toro 22” mower for years but it took well over an hour to cut and had to be done twice a week. Now I don’t even think about it when the grass is a little shaggy, just give it a quick run with the TM and it’s done in about 45 minutes. The bag holds a helluva lot more than any mower I’ve ever had too, now I can bag the grass without stopping every other row. Still keep an SR4 around as back up and for smaller areas but I’ll never sell my TM unless it’s to buy a brand new one!
The 30 inch Commercial it is a Vacuum cleaner it sucks all debris that damages the belts. A poor design....
Depleted uranium blades for efficient grass clipping disposal. Clipping bag? We don't need no stinkin' clipping bag!
A lot of plastic on that mower that can harden and crack in a few years.
what i like about these 30 inch mowers, is their mulching capability, they will take a pile of leaves on a lawn and make it disappear. because of the twin blades, they dice up grass very well with minimal clumps.
It's good you got the old mower with that white B&S engine back there, because when those new machines goes bad, you have the oldie you can always trust.
Excellent review, I have some toro equipment and love it. All is dependable when properly maintained.
I have one. Its an amazing mower. The pace personal pace is amazing. The only thing that would make this better is a stronger chute and a bigger Honda Engine.
residential or commercial the trick to these toro/exmark 30s is to have sharp blades and tinker with the governor so it runs at 3600 rpm
I had a little cub cadet and did that. Huge difference in power. Wouldn't try over 3600rpm, though.
Save your money and a few hundred dollars more and get a world commercial.

Yeah I know all about them Woorsh out ports... Every new mower has em and y'all stop by the place ya bought it and ask em for the connection piece and they just look at ya like what the hell is that you want... MFG's R too friggin stingy to give ya the friggin thing in the box with the mower
Toro about 1973 had a mower that had a circular slightly coned disk with 4 tips for a blade at each quadrant; the tips were triangular shaped and turn-able to a new sharp edge. The thought was the cone pulled the blades of grass up and the tips cut them off.
Yep, We had one, the blades on it were replaceable with standard sickle bar sections as well.
Jacobson had one like that too and it was 2-cycle. YEARS ago.
To hell with those timed decks, in my opinion they are not worth a shit.

I’m a firm believer in keeping my mower cleaned up but It’s not my lawn I won’t water it they rust way to easy anymore they don’t build them like they used to

Man I had one of those a few years back 2014/15 maybe, it was a great mower, my model was the year before they put the bigger engine on them, isn't that the way it always happens........
Make sure you carry a extra gas tank on your back since the engine drink gas pretty quick and you will need to refuel often. Such a big engine with such a small fuel tank... who design this mower????

Wish toro would put the kohler 200cc on the timemaster. This mower shouldn’t cost more than 800.00 with all the break/fail easy parts they use on it.

You put out awesome review videos Taryl, when manufacture's and engineers actually listen to knowledgeable mechanics their products improve exponentially!
Looks like a good unit. I do like that Toro, gives you the gear to mow the way you want or need to. I'd be tempted to trade my riding mower in for one of these if I didn't also mow my mother in law's yard. Her yard is large enough we really need a zero turn but those are a little spendy for me. We use two tractors and the mowing takes about 2 hours and another 2 to trim. That's no all of it though. There is probably another 2 hours of mowing around barns and sheds we gave up on a few years ago.
Water is mower decks worst enemy.

My son got this to start his lawn mowing business, 2 years and going strong. Weekly does 3-5 lawns on top of his regular full-time job.
Im a landscaper i only use mine once a week on 4 small lawns that i do and its worked out great for the past year.
Any issues with it? I’m thinking of getting one to use on 5 lawns once a week but don’t want to get something that has issues. Thanks
@@PNWTraveler Ive had mine for almost a year and half and no issues at all i use it every week on 5 properties i have that my big mowers don't go threw its a great mower and has a beautiful cut.
I cut grass for 10 years and those walk assist interference blade mowers just aren't worth it. When the transmission breaks it's like pushing the rock of Gibraltar, even on level ground, and when you hit something with those interference blades the spindles can get eaten up chipping the blades.
Not a fan of the plastic front ends on toros, screws have a tendency to strip just from use.
Does the stowing of the mower upright have any effect on the oil being somewhat at the back of the crankcase???
I'm currently restoring a 2015 Turfmaster. I'm thinking of taking the Kindasucki FJ180V off to repower a 22" mower. Would you recommend the 223cc Breaks N Scrapum or Krohler 224cc?
Hey tarly I have a30" Toro commercial turfmaster HDX. IM HAVING trouble with my transmission. Only one wheel is spinning. Any help Or information on it would help. It's a,2021 so I'm not sure what the problem is. Frustrated to say the least

Just fired up my Craftsman Briggs and Stratton mower yesterday. Four years and still running good. Replaced blade
I put 5 hours a week on my 22" Toro recycler. Debating between the Timecutter or Turfmaster.
Taryl, what's the best Lawn Tractor? Seems like the briggs engines have issues, kohler engines have issues, and even the deeres have issues. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined. What's your recommendation?
1200 bucks....i would rather get the 22 inch for half the cost AND get an aluminum deck...i had one that lasted 8 years and gave it to a friend.....love toro personal pace but i must admit, I switched to EGO electric and haven't looked back

Taryl I have owned a Toro TimeMaster for a number of years, do you know of a inexpensive source for wheel bearing that I could purchase , seems silly to buy wheels, or sets of wheels when a wheel bearing go bad. I have repacked my wheel bearings a couple of times. Also a big issue with these Timemasters is the size of the gas tank just seems with thousands of these out there someone would have come up with a elegant solution? Buy the way I updated the idler pullies as you suggested works MUCH BETTER.
I think my mower is that I've got now is a 22"🚂🚃🚜
I'm surprised people watching this channel are buying a new mower (the lessons from this channel would make any curb mower usable). It seemed odd to see Taryle in this role, though. Maybe consider adding a new character for new product reviews. You could do it yourself....or Tim Jr is pretty talented in his characters and could easily take on a new persona with an image that "Taryl" considers respectable enough to give sound sales advice.
hi Taryl i just found a toro recycler 22,propell drive in front,can see on my channel to was easy to fix and still gettin parts for it,cuts and mulches good i think yes would like to get a 30" inch since i have big yard,good video Taryl im watchin,,

What are your thought's on running engine flat out with out cool down available,,

I use mine commercial. No problem. Never even snapped a belt. I’m sure it’s coming but…. Not yet.
I have a bone to pick with you commercial guys. If your cutting grass commercially, you should know how to change your oil, sharpen your blades ect and do it weekly. Its some much easier on your engines just having sharp baldes.
You cant afford to be paying a shop for that.
The mower is a bit heavy for the width of the Tires, especially when using that bagger that holds so much grass. There is room for the tires to be double the width. It does indent turf even when you take a new path every time.. I have been using these mowers since the first model... Yes I have warn out those pulleys causing blade collisions... Warn out sets of tires too... I love the mower, great for leaf cleanups. First I mulch the leaves, then set the mower higher and just suck up any bigger pieces with the bag.. Less bagged leaves and good for the lawns.
I still have a early model Timemaster. I just put a Kohler CV224 and exmark pulleys on it. Still a turd but a powerful turd.
Daryl what do you think of the mowers that they say you don't have to change the oil.
Toro has been the best walkbehind mowers i have ever used. Especially the ones with the Toro engine. I cants say too many good things about the Briggs engines but this one seems to be decent.. and sounds good.
Great Review from someone who knows mowers. I purchased one after seeing your how to videos. You made repairs look easy should something fail .
I hope it doesn't have one of them Briggs and strapon plastic carbitrators. I hate that sonofabitch jets clog every week. Every week!!
The foam in the tank is a Anti Explosive material. Gov't ordered. Not sure if it works or not? But I had it in my fuel cell in my race car.
Hard to ever go back to a 21 inch mower once you get a bigger deck. Saves so much time.
