After 5 years - HUGE mistake with my Toro TIMECUTTER zero turn

We live in Northwestern PA and have around 70 Acres of Land, in the middle of family homestead land from more than 4 generations back. We have one daughter, one rescued Great Dane, and one cat. We enjoy working on our property and making improvements. We enjoy tractors, chainsaws, splitting firewood, rural living, and all purple collar life projects. OK you got me. Never thought about who would mow when I'm gone. I was nervous first time I used my zero turn. Never going back it's awesome.
They're so amazing. I used to love mowing on the John Deere tractor. But now that I have the zero turn - I can't imagine mowing any other way.

Everyone always likes when Jennifer is in the videos. I think she’s interested in the new machine with that MyRide suspension. It’s like riding on a cloud! :)
Now you both need vanity license plates that say "His" and "Hers" 😊 I had a feeling that another Timecutter would somehow work its way into the family. Having two means getting more work done, obviously.....but, not to put a fly in the ointment, means less work for both of you getting it done faster. If you're mowing at the same time. I can't believe this is already our 5th summer with the Toro Timecutter (and our 5th summer on TH-cam!!). Jennifer has been loving mowing with the zero turn. It will be nice to get all the mowing done even faster now - with two machines!

Uh oh - I hadn’t thought about that!
My wife is 63. Up until 3 years ago, she would cut all of the grass on our 7 acre property with a commercial JD walk behind. Sometimes I would help! Unfortunately, she turned hurt her ankle and doing it all with the walk behind was no longer possible. We purchased the ExMark Radius and although a bit nervous at first, she drives that zero turn like a Nascar driver!. You got this Jen.
Jennifer is loving riding the zero turn and mowing.
I'm curious if there is much difference in mowing time of 7 acres on the commercial John Deere walk behind, and the new Exmark Radius.
And I can only imagine the number of steps your wife would get on that walk behind mowing 7 acres! That's quite a walk. I'd be wearing the FitBit and tracking that activity for sure. :)
I have a 2019 Exmark Radius E, which is very similar to your Toro Timecutter, at least the deck lift is the same. Not surprising, since Exmark is owned by Toro. I also have a 2002 John Deere 717 commercial mower....the John Deere is a lot heavier built than my Exmark.
I've actually had a chance to mow one time on a John Deere 7 series commercial mower. They are impressive for sure!
For all our mowing, the Toro Timecutter suits our needs, and doesn't break the bank. :)
Now to teach her to run the chain saw, snowblower,leaf blower,etc 🤣🤣🤣
She has 0 interest in the chainsaw, snow blower, or snow plow - but she does love running that backpack blower!
Having a wife that enjoys working outside is a huge bonus. Sure we miss out on some of our relaxation time like mowing etc. but when time is short it’s nice to know it’ll still get done. Now put her on a mower with suspension we are just now finding out how amazing they are!! Plus she’ll support the purchase. I don’t get to run my log splitters nearly as much anymore but I’ll take it! We have a somewhat related video coming soon. Ah now I see you have one with suspension! The difference is crazy.

She hasn't tried the new machine with the suspension yet - but I can tell you that it's night and day. SO SMOOTH! I'll be having her give it a try as soon as the rain stops. :)

I would HOPE that the new Toro would be hers…you should probably decal her name on it! A few good clips of you with ear muffs, was she using noise canceling buds? Ask someone who has run equipment a long time about that…lol. Great video, my wife made me buy her a tractor when I wouldn’t “let” her use the John Deere!
Hmmmm - we’ll have to flip a coin for the new one each time maybe. Or maybe I should put the first 100 hours on it just to make sure it’s all running good. :) Just kidding - the new one has the MyRide soft suspension - so I’ll probably let her enjoy the smooth ride. :)
I always wear my 3M hearing protection on the zero turn. Jennifer sometimes wears 3M headphones too, but other times chooses ear buds or other hearing protection.

That's funny, Ed. I'm starting to get the question when I head outside anytime now - "What are you headed out to do?". If I dare say "mowing", it's an issue. :)
