Chiltern operates 2tph (trains per hour) between Oxford and London Marylebone via Bicester Village

1:21 Class 165s are actually Networkers not Turbostars. Great trip report though 👍

GWR 80x units between Oxford and London switch between diesel and electric at Didcot because the 80x units can switch between diesel and electric while at speeds of up to 140 mph (maximum speed for the 80x units)

is that why they drop so much speed on the branch before didcot parkway?

@@toxiczeu3597 The acceleration in diesel mode is not as good as in electric mode

Going on these next month to london.
I mean I don’t think there really that bad, even though the seat comfort is not the greatest it still has very fast accerlation and nice traction motors when on electric

Nice video mate, I haven’t been on GWR for a while but planning something for the summer. Almost at the 1000, great work bud.

Cheers mate, I recommend their Worcester to London services if you're planning on a trip, much cheaper than their other lines and the views are fantastic apparently!

Not bad going, reasonably fast trains - Oxford to London in around 13 minutes! 😄

Thank you for your video! Would you mind posting a link where I can see trips and tickets, in 3 months I will be a tourist there and I’ll have to do this trip from London to Oxford and back. Thank you!

Best bet is to buy with trainpal or directly with the toc on their website.

Which train is better when travelling from Oxford to London Paddington on GWR. Class 800, Class 165 or maybe Chiltern Railways Class 168 or Class 170 to London Marylebone. I have been to Oxford and it's such a nice city.

Thanks for the comment Andrew, I personally would say GWR offer a better value journey from Oxford to London, the trains are newer and while Chiltern is slightly more comfortable, I believe GWR is better.

@@truebrit3578 That's strange. I say that because Marylebone is a station on the Bakerloo Line.
