I think Shigatsu is the first thing to show me how piano can outright sparkle. Not just be pleasant or interesting, but decisively sparkle. I don't know whether its the music chosen, how they were played, or the associations with the series, but never have I heard the piano feel this alive, and be so colorful and personable. Everything else I've heard sounds dusty and flat in comparison

This song truely reminds of the mixtures of winter and fall. The ending of fall has concluded its warmth and now enters the cold, bitterness of the dreadful yet beautiful winter and how powerful it is! This piece by chopin is what I think the best he's done!

STORY! My orchestra teacher gave us the last 5 min. of school to do whatever we wanted, and one girl decided to play an unconstant tempo and I politely/quietly told her she was off timing, and she sassilly said, "Why don't you try playing the piano!" luckily I was almost ready to perfect this beautiful piece and played it with no off timings, everyones mouth dropped. I walked away smoothly, as if I just planted the bomb, that was my piano playing. Moral of the story: Thank you anime.
Watching your lie in April really made me want to pick up the piano again. I use to play but I never really took it seriously. To me it was something to do after my singer lesson. (Which I took a lot more seriously than piano.) Now watching your lie in makes me want to do it again with a lot more passion. I work very hard to play my songs. It doesnt even have to be a classic piece. (mostly video game stuff.) Sometimes It takes me a while to learn how to play them and then people are like, "Do you know such and such song?" Or, "You should totally learn how to play this on piano" I play in my room alone for the majority of the time. The only reason why people were around me was because one day I decided to bring my keyboard to school. It was gonna be really boring that day and it was towards the end of the trimester. So I started playing a bit and people really liked it, which since I'm not used to an audience, it kinda felt nice that people appreciated my playing, because I work hard to play a lot of my music. I soon realized however that people were whipping their phones out everywhere telling me to play songs that they know. Its almost like they disreguarded all that work and soul I put into my music! I'd would much rather play for myself then others like you said, because others cant feel the soul of the music that you play only you can.
...Honestly, I loved how alike Emi and,Kaori really were and yet managed to be so opposite in declaration of intent that the two were like the Sun and the Moon as musicians...all because of four whole minutes at the age of five. That kinda live and admiration borders on pure obssession. Irony being that all that Kaori was, Emi displayed all the things she herself could not. Both had the same starting points, same obssession, same depth of feelings and yet expressed them so contrary to each other in expression that it's just too much. Oddly enough, the two never directly cross paths and only were ever in the same room twice....though Emi never saw a performance of Kaori's while Kaori obswrved just how alike they were. The biggest flip is in how they expressed their "instability". One in their playing, or expression of life while living "suppressed", while the other entails their "life itself" wihilst living unbidden on borrowed time. The common denominator---- A boy, their feelings, and music... all of which pointed in parallel in the same direction.
This inspired me to go back to piano after quitting cause I wanted to play this piece so badly. I played Fantasie impromptu first and then moved in to study this piece. It took me 5 months to get this piece good (but not perfect). Now I enjoy the piano more than ever. THANKS ANIME
This is such a beutiful peice of artwork, not for the eyes, but for the vaulnerable ears. The song is sheilding for those who love it, and an attack against all who despise, and disdain anime. For all of it's beutiful, glorious, funny, sad, creepy, heartwarming, and messed up moments, we still owe it a great deal of tribute to making our lives the slightest bit more colorful, relatable, and easier to overcome. My 2nd favorite Chopin piece. The low notes to me represent Chopin's single-minded focus, while the higher ones are the chaos surrounding him. He is able so resist for a while, but in the end it overpowers him, and he becomes one with it.
The romanticization of this kind of music is something that is never talked about enough. How beautifully it was done in the anime. How beautifully it was written in the manga. Both experiences of the sub and dub are absolutely phenomenal. This story has it all: the emotion, realism of young love, the tragedy. Just stunning

Once,I was given an electric piano as a child.I didn't know how to play nor had anyone to teach me.So,it was left in the corner of the room until it wasn't usable.It was practically thrown away. I was just a child that time,and I particularly had no interest in music and songs. Many years later(only about 3-4 years,I forgot)I saw the anime,Your Lie In April.I didn't particularly finish the anime as I thought it was boring.I still had no interest in whatsoever. My brother still recommended it to me,when time passed,so I finished it.At that time,I was gaining an understanding what songs and music are.So I immediately fell in love with the music and the story of Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. The classical music together with the story,the passion and beauty of what I heard of each and every song. It made me think,if I could have an interest in music at an earlier stage,I would have learned piano... I would love to learn how to play piano and learn more classical music to play...and play to my heart's content. Would I be able to learn piano,and be good at it,even if I start as a teenager?Woud I be able to play instruments like piano and violin in a good way? ... I don't know...But I now appreciate music...many kinds of music that soothes many people... Those many beautiful pieces,music or song,that I have yet to hear... But I still wish to play the piano... This inspired me to go back to piano after quitting cause I wanted to play this piece so badly. I played Fantasie impromptu first and then moved in to study this piece. It took me 5 months to get this piece good (but not perfect). Now I enjoy the piano more than ever. THANKS ANIME

The low notes to me represent Chopin's single-minded focus, while the higher ones are the chaos surrounding him. He is able so resist for a while, but in the end it overpowers him, and he becomes one with it.

As both a violinist and a pianist, your lie in April is my favorite series and probably the only anime I’ll ever be addicted to.
I have been playing piano for a few years but I quit last year. I still played every once in a while but I didn't do classes but when I heard this piece it made me want to start again. So I have the sheet music for this song and even though I'm only grade 1 in piano I want to learn this, play it at the school concert and show everyone what I can do!

Once,I was given an electric piano as a child.I didn't know how to play nor had anyone to teach me.So,it was left in the corner of the room until it wasn't usable.It was practically thrown away.
I was just a child that time,and I particularly had no interest in music and songs.
Many years later(only about 3-4 years,I forgot)I saw the anime,Your Lie In April.I didn't particularly finish the anime as I thought it was boring.I still had no interest in whatsoever.
My brother still recommended it to me,when time passed,so I finished it.At that time,I was gaining an understanding what songs and music are.So I immediately fell in love with the music and the story of Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. The classical music together with the story,the passion and beauty of what I heard of each and every song.
It made me think,if I could have an interest in music at an earlier stage,I would have learned piano...
I would love to learn how to play piano and learn more classical music to play...and play to my heart's content.
Would I be able to learn piano,and be good at it,even if I start as a teenager?Woud I be able to play instruments like piano and violin in a good way? ... I don't know...But I now appreciate music...many kinds of music that soothes many people...
Those many beautiful pieces,music or song,that I have yet to hear...
But I still wish to play the piano...
