I'm an"old timer" guitarist...and with no exception, the man is in a class all by himself...his vision and inventiveness coupled with his extraordinary sense of tone is second to NONE.
Actually, second to Jimmi Hendrix.
Totally correct.
This is a man for every decade for 60 years this man's collaboration of music is like no other👍👏☝😊
Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix are the only ones that can squeeze note out of a guitar that nobody's ever heard. Other than Jimmy the alien Jeff Beck's right there one of my favorites of all time😚😘🎸🎸🎸👍👏
- agree!
@@bernhardnizynski4403 , Jan Akkerman number 4
@@Baz-Ten - Yes - and Ritchie Blackmore is up there too!
@@bernhardnizynski4403 , So many! but it's his numerous styles and genres that puts Jeff Beck close to the top!
@@Baz-Ten - absolutely! While I don't listen to much Jeff Beck or any other electric guitar player these days, I grew up with Beck's playing and he has amazed me to this day! What a loss - I feel very sad and depressed about his passing!
I like the way he played.
I'm looking forward to this film! Beck has long been my favorite guitarist:)
That's it! I've always wondered what made Jeff Beck, JEFF BECK. But couldn't put my finger on it. He doesn't care about genres. He only care about the guitar. So, many wonderful players throughout guitar history. But if you pushed me to pick a favorite. No doubt. It's JB.
Jeff is a genre which he changes as often as he deems.
He was brilliant then. He's more brilliant now.
Great guitarist....Great hair.
No one is better than him
Jeff Beck is one of a kind and the best 🎸🎵🎶. The older he got the better.
Jeff Beck and Fender 🇺🇸 Stratocaster 🎸 is like peanut butter and jelly 👍❗
This movie isn't out yet but Jeff Beck's latest live album is. "Live +" is the name and is already on Spotify for those interested. I got the album and will enjoy it for a long time to come!
Wahooooooo! Every morsel of Beckness is a gift. This looks like it'll be an entire holiday. Can. Not. Wait.
Beck definitely deserved(s) way more more commercial success than he's had; but unlike mega-stars like Page or Clapton or even The Beatles, he never got tied-down or attached to any one era or decade. As successful as Led Zeppelin or The Stones or Beatles were, you hear them now and you think "that's the 60's or that's the 70's." But Beck sounds like he's right here, right now. So sometimes being such a huge hit ties you down and compartmentalizes you. No worries there for the great master Jeff Beck!!
Jeff's playing never became stagnate or stopped evolving either, very much UNLIKE Clapton or Page; but at the same time, they both (especially Page) smoke Beck when it comes to sheer songwriting/arranging. But when it comes down to just the act of playing guitar, improvising lines, Beck's otherworldly, Clapton & Page are mere mortals.
Have been a sincere fan since the yardbirds , he has never disappointed and is without doubt the best guitarist ever, I have seen all the undoubted quality players including Jimmy who unfortunately died before we could see his true capability, my o la worry is that he might decide to retire but doubt it. It's a pity that his own country have not shown his true talent, how come he is not Sir Jeff but then again would he accept it ?
I think we saw/heard well enough from Jimi to know he was absolutely top of the pack. I'd say that Beck, because of his decades long commitment to the guitar and melodic vision is likely #1 on all-time electric guitar ladder; but the fact that Hendrix is so obviously still right there in the conversation after having missed the last 40+ years tells you where he stands and stood. Hendrix wrote his own songs, SANG (while playing), came out with 4 all-time records (2 of which were double albums) in 3 years; created Electric Ladyland studios (still top notch today); had an incredible stage performance on top of the level of musicianship; AND carried the entire load. Hendrix never got to play with a Simon Phillips or a Vinny Colauita; or a Narada Michael Walden. Nothing against Mitch Mitchell (no freaking slouch!) or Buddy Miles (ditto); but I mean,...come on. Greatest electric guitarist of all time? That's easy. Jeff Bendrix!!
great comment. totally agree...rr
I see him. 25 July 2018 Dallas on concert. It was breathtaking 75.min amazing music ( filling as15 min )))) 74 ... he is better and better!!!!
You get people that will say Steve Vai is better etc. BLAH!!! no way, beck just has this amazing heart, soul, warmth about his playing!!! he makes the guitar sing!! where some of these modern super players are all driven on showing off technique!! or how many notes you can blast per sec :)
Gibson Weasel No , Steve Via not better!!!! And he is know it ....
good on ya JEFF !!
we want more!
Jeff Beck re-invented himself. He's come back from the silence to emerge as an artist for the listeners of the past and future.
Max Middelton says a lot of people have copied his techniques .... - so far I haven't heard anyone capable of what Jeff does and I guess no one dears to perform that on a stage
Wish video was longer
The "Man For All Seasons" only warranted 5:22?! Even when they praise him he still gets a backhanded dope slap to the head. WTF?
The title for this film could be changed and used as - "Jimmy Page In The 1960s - A Man For All Sessions"!
I would have liked to have seen Jeff and Rory on the same stage doing some variety of music because they because they both could do it all .
Jeff Beck is far best 🎸🎶🎵. Gotten better with age. Beck & Fender Stratocaster is like peanut butter and jelly - they go together
I thought this was going to be about his work in the 60s.
He's 1,960 some odd years old i guess lol !
I would. Sincerely I would if only I had a credit card … :'(
2:31 Nice to see props given to Kelly Clarkson.
Sorry Kelly was lucky to be on stage with Jeff Beck. He is an artist like no other
...but so do other people who are cataclysmicaly dull...LOL!!!
another one of these lame "documentaries" on musicians whose music can't actually be heard because of licensing issues.
Jeff hosted the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. Also inducted by Jimmy Page. That helped in some exposure:)
I need BLUERAY :)
Beck is an excellent guitarist but not in the same class as Page and Clapton musically. when he can come up with stairway to heaven or Layla then.....
+WV591 It's not a top 40 competition..maybe for you it is!
He's never been a great songwriter/arranger; he's the quintessential virtuoso soloist type and when it comes to the sheer act of playing guitar and improvising lines, they're not even in his league, they freely admit as much.
+WV591 Page and Calpton disagree with you. Read their interviews about their opinion of Beck. ;-)
WV591 sorry to disagree , i have been fortunate to see the big four live, without doubt in my mind he is far superior to Page ,Clapton and indeed Hendrix.
WV591 Come on, the difference between Beck and Page/Clapton doesn't compare, Beck is in another place altogether.
