Almost everytime i watch the music video or just listen to it i cry so much that my eyes feel sore... The rev was a big and still is one of the biggest idols and he is the reason i got into playing the drums. I have never seen avenged sevenfold live, but if and when i get the chance to see them, that will be the best day in my whole life.
Avenged sevenfold is my favourite band and has been for 16 years. I remember hearing about Jimmy’s death in 2009. I was mid Call of Duty game and my friend told me. I literally put my controller down, ran downstairs to see if it was true. I came back upstairs and cried for about 25 minutes straight. This is one of the only things that can make me cry without fail. Listen to their song Fiction if you haven’t already, it has Jimmy’s vocals in and makes me cry every single time. It’s not long until I finally get my tattoo dedicated to him. Thankyou guys for this video. foREVer
I got to see avenged Many times with Jimmy there (fan since '05, went to every show within 300 miles of my city) and got to meet them a handful of times. Got to see Jimmy making fun of Johnny on my behalf when I complained that Jimmy made me feel so tiny, or the time threw a stick at johnny when Johnny came in super late on a song, lol. Or the time he drunkenly screamed out the bus window at my friend and I to take our tops off when we walked by, and when we nearly collapsed laughing he yelled SORRY! and slammed the window shut again. When we lost him it just tore me in half, and while I went to a few shows for the Nightmare tour it was Hard. I don't think the fans will ever fully recover or let go, but I know I'm so proud of what the band has done since then. RIP, Jimmy. foREVer.
Well i was born in 1998. Around 2004 my friend showed me Avenged Sevenfold. i loved it since day one. from around 2005 i started playing drums because i looked up to The Rev. He was the reason i began drumming and A7X was the reason i got into Metal music. The 28th of December 2019 i did a live cover for a group of friends and other people that love their music and i did a few covers of the A7X songs on drums and it felt good honoring those songs in the way i did. Sad that i never got to see them live before he passed away. I never stopped playing drums and i self taught everything i know to this day because i looked up to Jimmy. He passed away over 10 years ago and his way of drumming and the songs he wrote are still with me to this day and i am thankful that i began playing drums because of him. This was also a great reaction and when you got emotional towards the solo i felt that myself. This song is in general just a very emotional song. If you have not done already i recommend strongly to also react to Linkin Park - One more light. That song also hit me hard because i also started to listen to Linkin Park around the same time as A7X.
I always cried whenever I listened this song. A7X was there when I had a very hard time around 2006-2007 so I feel so lost when Jimmy passed away. I cried while hugging my baby and my mom didn't understand why I did it for someone that I never knew. When this album came, my good friend from high school also passed away. The song is so emotional to begin with and I really really love your genuine reaction. Thank you..
Finding out everything I could about Jimmy and watching every scrap of video I could made me fall in love. One of the most beautiful souls to ever grace us with his presence.
OMG , SOOO, SORRY FOR YOU LOSS ,GUYS ! I'm crying for you ! GOD BLESS ,just remember you'll see him AGAIN ! We lost my brother's son, my nephew MARSHALL 21 to an accidental gunshot to the head ,DEVASTATING , EERILY TODAY WAS HIS BIRTHDAY , HE DIED MARCH 23rd last year,so I know & feel your loss ,my brother is still not the same ! 😭😇
I saw Avenged Sevenfold live in 2010, about a year after The Rev's passing, they toured for the Nightmare album, with a fill-in drummer, and played this live. I lost my old man in 2008 to a very aggressive form of cancer, and hearing this song live hit me real hard, it was the first time that I noticed the impact music could have on someone. Sure the songs from my dad's funeral were emotional for me but that's because they were played there. This song was completely new to me and it was then I realized that music, or a song, could have any meaning you want it to have, the connection to everyone is different. And to this day I still cry more often than not hearing this song and music has become a massive part of my life because of it. I loved this reaction a lot, it's really genuine. At the start you can see Kel smiling at what little devils those boys are being and later the raw emotion hits. I can also see the look in Rich's eyes, pure emotion. You can read from his look that he wished to have one last drink with his son. Funny enough, my old man's name was Richard, too. So if you're reading this, I'll be having a drink on you tonight, cheers. Much love from The Netherlands
Hey guys a late bloomer to A7V, been about 7 years now. One of my favorite bands of all time along with The Warning and I’m 62 years old. Thanks for sharing this classic. Love all their songs , especially Buried Alive. Live..... ps: I love you guys ......
I lost my aunt Jackie when I was really young. She taught me so much and I miss her every single day. One day I’m going to figure out a cure for cancer so I can prevent things like that happening. I’m not one to cry but everytime I hear this song i shed some tears. I’ve lost many people that played a major role in teaching me how to be a good person. Thankyou for reacting to this.
This song makes me cry, and the video does so even more, but watching you guys react just had me bawling. I have never watched this video with anyone so I think company sort of expands feelings, so Thank You, guys for being my company today. After losing my dad, every word resonates for me 100% and I just wish he could hear me say them. I am so grateful for all art forms that reflect our souls' unspoken needs.
Every time I hear this song, I experience sadness, anger, joy and forlorness. I've lost so many people and I miss them so. Thank you for this reaction, it meant a lot to me. Love you guys
I had the biggest lump in my throat watching this.. although I've heard this song over 100 times just knowing what you have both been through tore me up so much.. tears and love from Australia xo
Jimmy “The Rev” was a force of nature and gone too soon. These guys were all best friends since grade school. I’ve seen Avenged Sevenfold many times, last time the guitarist (Brian Haner) gave my son a drumstick after the show. They were touring with Breaking Benjamin and Ben brought my son on stage for a while. I’d met Breaking Benjamin and Avenged Sevenfold prior to the show, I work as a nurse at the arena so I’m always front row, it’s a great perk of the job for this metal head mom! All of them were very down to earth and Ben and I discussed depression, which we both battle, for about half an hour. Great guys, all of them!
Hating me is conforming I’ll never forget the day he died. I remember it so vividly, I cried for a while and have been torn up over it for years. I’ll just never ever forget as I’m in the backyard raking leaves, my mom leans out the back door to tell me. It’s seared in my brain
R.I.P Jimmy, we love you so much regardless of how much time has been passed. I just want to tell you guys that you guys have the kindest heart and you showed the best reaction to this song, you really appreciated both the song and Jimmy, I hope the best for you. keep it up.
The exact same feeling I go throw every time I listen and specially watch this song. So so so special to me. I lost my best friend in an accident and he died in my arms in the ambulance. Thank you for your pure reaction. I love you both♥️
Yup I know the feeling . Sorry for tour loss I’m so glad you guys found Avenged . Enjoy them they are one of those bands that once you hear them you become obsessed. Enjoy 😉
You 2 beautiful people I mourn with! I had no idea of the loss you shared! I’m so very sorry for your loss. The song is incredibly moving and makes my stomach turn. God bless them and their loss too!
If you don't have this type of reaction to this video, I don't know if you can possibly even have a soul. I can't ever get past that section when the bridge comes in and they start showing all of the clips and photos of The Rev with clear eyes. So much respect to A7X for giving such a beautiful tribute in all facets for their brother. I was a fan of them long before he passed and I still remember hearing of his passing and being so sad. He was a phenomenal musician and just genuinely seemed like a nice guy.
I lost my dad in July 2019..... Im only 26 and there is a lot i wish he could be around to see that he sadly wont be able to.... This song has taken on a whole other level of meaning for me now. The ending when M. Shadow screams out so far away and I need you to know.... Captures how i have felt this last year perfectly. So many things i wish i could tell you dad...... Yet you are so far away.
Songs like this about losing loved ones are always hard to listen to, but so great at the same time. I can’t imagine how hard for you that was to listen to and share, but you’re not alone and we are all with you.
Aw, look at the happinesses. You have the joy of the live scene. Now you know why I have so many shows under my belt. CHEERS! I have to say, you guys do bring a specialness to YT. God bless you. Peace, Phil
This Song hit me really hard the first time I heard it. 9 years ago my grandfather past away and he was one of my pillars that kept me together through my early years of high school (don't know if that fits I'm from germany). He always supported me, even though we weren't related, comforted me and said that it gets better with time. Then I got the call from my grandmother, he passed away at the age of 60 because of cancer. I was devastated. Metal has always been a vent for me when it comes to my emotions and suddenly there was this song "So far away". I was in tears after hearing it. I will get a tattoo in dedication of my grandfather and A7X because music and special people in your life cant get you through rough times. Thanks for reading and for this reaction :)
I first saw Avengers Sevenfold a couple of years ago in Nashville, TN. Before the show, I had been a casual listener of their music, but my oldest son has always been a huge fan. I took him to the concert as a late Christmas present. The concert was simply amazing!! These guys, in one night, jumped up to one of my top 5 bands. So very talented. And this song....... it really hits my heart. I lost my baby brother a few years back and this song always makes my cry. Thank you both for sharing this reaction with us.
I really appreciate reaction vidjas like this that you two bring to us. You give a lot of yourselves for your subs. I think everyone here appreciates it. I'm almost 57 now, I've met a lot of good musicians living in and around Nashville, TN where I am from. Currently I'm an hour and a half southwest of the Nashville airport, I've moved away from it. I haven't set up my kit in almost 3 yrs. My health, now failing simply won't allow me to play any longer. Maybe someday again. I've had some really close friends pass, bandmates, some recent and some not so recent. Cancer, Suicide, and worse. The average life expectancy of a musician seems to rank pretty low these days. This year I became a single dad of my two teenage children, ages 13 and 16 this month, boy and girl respectively. We are about to move to my brothers until I can support us again. Keep the vidjas coming guys....
I still can't make it through that video. First time since they released it. Seen it live many times. But that video. The tribute to Jimmy is just so much and even now losing that man was tragic. Still makes me cry. I'm sorry for your loss it's terrible. But music like this is just what helps us get through it. FoREVer
Man I ain't sure how we as human got to the point of watching other people listen to music but I'm glad we did. This is what music is all about. Weather positive or negative it should spark emotion in you. And yall ain't have to say a single word for me to see the emotion it brought out for yall. This is great.... I've heard this song 1000s of times and that last part makes my eyes get watery every damn time!!
In 2011 I lost my best friend and her unborn baby to a major seizure. She was only 23 I still to this day miss and think about what we would be doing in this stage of life. Every year on the anniversary of her death I post things about epilepsy awarness. This song makes me think of her and gives me in a way comfort on those hard days. This song is so beautiful I'm so thankful they made it.
It seems the older I get , the more of my friends, family and love ones are lost to Time. Love is all that holds me here on this Earth with you fine folks. I consider that a true Blessing for the day will come when it will be my turn to leave. I can only hope that my friends, family and Love ones will remember me with a grain of Love in their hearts.
As you remember the music, and the friends you made while listening, there will be a seed (if not an entire TREE) of remembrance for YOU (and me) too, I am fully convinced of it. Nothing is lost to time, especially LOVE, because where we go, when we hoist our mast to sail onward past this place, Memories live FOREVER. If there is ANY beauty to Life, it is this.
These are raw emotions and they are real fans.. not like the ones which are all over the internet who work only for money... The people like the reactors should live for music's existence. ❤️
Hey guys first and foremost I am deeply sorry for your loss and at the same time I admire you both for battling through anemia and going on day by day to become such a loving couple. So Far Away is a song very near and dear to my heart. I lost my mother and sister in the span of 9 days. My mother passed on June 1st of 2017 and my sister June 10th 2017. Everytime I hear this song I cry, I smile at how beautiful life can be yet how short it can be. I thank you guys for sharing something so intimate. People say that losing someone so close gets easier as the days and years go by but it varies for me. Thank you. May your son Rock in Peace and I thank you again all the way from Camden, NJ.
That was amazing guys and the reason i'm here and will always be like your biggest fan and part of the family here that are regulars and contributors to whatever i can do to help out and keep all this amazing positive energy flowing... such an amazing thing you guys are doing here!!!
Thank you guys for this video. I want to give you both a big hug! Thank you for sharing this reaction with us. We do believe in you guys. Love and respect!
I love you guys. You get it. You totally get it. Watching you two remind me of why I got into playing drums (if you consider drums music) in the first place. So powerful. So meaningful. So heartfelt. My ongoing condolences, Rich.
I remember seeing this live back in September 2011. It was very soon after the writing of this song and all the emotions were pretty intense. I ended up being all the way back on a grassy hillside in the venue in Indianapolis... The image of the entire crowd lighting up lighters and such in the dark as this was played will always stick with me. It was a beautiful experience.
This cannot have been easy for you to watch. My heart goes out to you, honestly. I havent experienced this sort of loss and this song, and video, still tears me up. Stay strong guys.
I'm sorry for your pain and sadness. This song is powerful to bring all of these emotions to surface. I cry with you guys. I must listen to more of band Avenged Sevenfold.
I stumbled accross your channel as I was chasing down the rabbit hole that is TH-cam...and I fell in love with you guys instantly!!! The love between the two of you, the love of music you show, the unbridled passion that Kel shows when she truly feels this music, and Rich's child like joy at listening to the songs! I finally found my soulmate, and I see us in you guys...we are both music lovers but from such polar opposite sides. I am a beat guy and she is a lyrics lady, I am a metal head and she is a county fan...anyway. You guys ROCK!!
I know this is an old reaction but you two still should do a lyric video for Fiction. Fiction is about Jimmy but also has his voice in it because Jimmy recorded the demo himself doing his vocals and the drumming on that song.
What a great song and video. Jimmy did suffer from some health problems that were exacerbated by substance abuse and depression. I tear up every time I see that video not only for the loss of The Rev but friends and family that have passed as well. The way I see it, those that have passed are immortal when we keep them in our hearts and minds... never forget. PS I'd love to see you guys react to another video by The Warning. The have started a North American tour and will be releasing another album this year. Rock! \m/ \m/
Every day of my life I try to be a positive influence and I fail miserably from time to time but I keep fighting. I want my life to help at least one soul to be able to know that I have value not just to myself. But I have days where I allow myself to feel the beautiful pain that life gives us. When you said that as well, I felt a connection with you despite not having your loss. This is one of my favorite songs and I’m glad you showed how you feel about it. I write music and I had to leave my band in New York but I know our life goes on and hopefully our legacy will live on longer. I hope one day my music will have this effect on someone one day. Keeping faith in that keeps me going harder and stronger every single day, with every book I read, with guitar I strum, with every weight I lift, with every video I make, I hope it means something to someone else one day. After all, that’s why we are here. Thank you again for this video.
This just something I want to recommend to everyone if you haven’t seen it. The original animated Rock soundtrack classic movie HEAVY METAL. Most of the artists wrote those songs specifically for the movie. If you like ROCK & ROLL, its an absolute MUST see! One of my all time favorites! Peace, Phil
The final clip of the video of them hugging and holding jimmy is actually from the tour with metallica that you went to. In that clip the rev was saying something like “im habing the time of my life with my best friends and i couldnt be any happier”. He was drunk and they were holding him up. You can see it in the avenged sevenfold documentary. Was amazing
I grew up listening to avenged and they really shaped who I was in my formative years. And after jimmy died it was really tough and then later I had my lead singer and best friend take his own life, so in a way this song has a double meaning for me. But when I listen to it it makes me feel better
I love this group and this song especially. I am very happy Kel had a chance to listen to this song. Rock music come in so many different styles but the language and the message is true. Being Kel is from Canada, I hope she has or gets a chance to listen to a group from her home country. The group is "Aprilwine" from "Waverly". I love them . Listen to "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" . It is pretty solid . Mitch from Maui
You guys are my already fav and you made me cry 😥 ... Yes life is too short to live happily I wish too meet you guys and spend some happy time with you in this short life and see you on the other side of life too ... ❤ We miss you #revsullivan
i lost quite a few people in my life. when i found out that fear inoculum officially dropped, i was here. culling voices hits a whole different vibe just like this song. made me cry so hard and it reminds me of all the emotional and physical pain i went through just to be here. many mental problems and it's a lot. just came out to my aunt today as being gender fluid and she is a very big influence in my life that i can not be more than happy to have with me. i don't have the best relationship with my dad but i'm grateful for the good times i had with my aunt, my sister, etc. love all of you
I love them a7x their really awesome I can relate to the song so far away I have lost a lot of love ones and I still miss them to this very day but my heart goes up too the band
I can only imagine the pain you had to go through when you lost your son but I understand the pain of epilepsy I have epilepsy myself I am 28 I have had it sense I was 14 it’s very difficult to live with I have been in a car accident and have hit my head on a lot of hard surfaces. I do feel bad for you r.i.p to your son
I recommend A Little Piece of Heaven by A7x. This was written by the Rev as well as M Shadows. It's a perfect example of what the Rev was capable of in terms of musicality- dude was a genius. Another one of his masterpieces is from this album (Nightmare) called Save Me. Truly an awesome arrangement.
Save Me is one of my favorite, followed by Victim and Tonight the World Dies...but every song on that album was incredible. Even for people who didnt care for A7Xs softer music(compared to their first albums), these songs are believed for the sheer power of their meaning.
I didnt actually get into A7x until after the Rev passed...it was actually Nightmare that got me into the band, and this song has become one of my absolute favorites. For me the hardest hitting losses were Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington, so damn close to one another. and right during one of the most emotionally and spiritually draining points in my life. I was wrecked. These things are never easy to bear, but like you said some days its easier.
KnR!! You also will absolutely love Save Me by Avenged Sevenfold with Mike Portnoy on drums. Portnoy was one of The Revs favorite drummers of all time. The band invited Portnoy to drum on the Nightmare album as a result. Hopefully you can do a reaction to this one as well.
@@Kel.N.RichReactions I look forward to Kel's reaction. I deleted my comment about requesting Prong because I didn't feel right after seeing this full video. You two inspire me!! 😄
If you cried watching this video...them I'm with you my dear...don't be shy

This reminded me of my grandfather...hope you are happy wherever you are gramps...❤️❤️❤️
Because of his smile, he awakened many memories of his youth... it awakened in me too 7:21
If you don't have this type of reaction to this video, I don't know if you can possibly even have a soul.
You can hear the emotion in syn’s solo
I lost my dad in July 2019..... Im only 26 and there is a lot i wish he could be around to see that he sadly wont be able to.... This song has taken on a whole other level of meaning for me now. The ending when M. Shadow screams out so far away and I need you to know.... Captures how i have felt this last year perfectly. So many things i wish i could tell you dad...... Yet you are so far away.
Songs like this about losing loved ones are always hard to listen to, but so great at the same time. I can’t imagine how hard for you that was to listen to and share, but you’re not alone and we are all with you.
Such kind words. Many heartfelt thanks from Kel and I and from those your comments touches. KnR
"I loved you, you weren't ready. The pain is strong and nothings right" always fucks me up
I first saw Avengers Sevenfold a couple of years ago in Nashville, TN.
Thank you guys for being so brave with your channel. We're here for you, one big metal family!! We love you guys!!
I feel for you two. The emotions you show and to be strong enough to play that song. Its amazing. All the respect in the world to you two
In 2011 I lost my best friend and her unborn baby to a major seizure.
@@ClickToPreview Thank-You, that was beautifully said. :-)
Had a speech class, and the topic was a song that really touched me, and i played it because i lost my brother to cancer so it really hit home to me
These are raw emotions and they are real fans.. not like the ones which are all over the internet who work only for money... The people like the reactors should live for music's existence. ❤️
One of my fav reactions from you guys. You are both so honest and real and I love you for it.
Mr. B. You are such a positive force and beacon of light, love and metal for us and so many others. Love ya man.
I feel the pain in your hearts. My heart is still broken with the passing of my best friend in life, my mom. Sometimes I just want to hear her voice.
This cannot have been easy for you to watch. My heart goes out to you, honestly. I havent experienced this sort of loss and this song, and video, still tears me up. Stay strong guys.
Great reaction and from heart. Like this.
Welcome back! Cant wait to see new reactions!
Beautiful reaction.. you are not afrait to let us see you emotions i love that in you 2🥰 i sending my love your way💞
I'm sorry for your pain and sadness. This song is powerful to bring all of these emotions to surface. I cry with you guys. I must listen to more of band Avenged Sevenfold.
I love this song the most and want to hear in the voice auditions !!
I lost my mom when I was 23 and a million miles away in the Marines. This song gets me every single time
Thank you. Enough said
Your both reactions tells all. We all feel the same. #foREVer ❤
You guys are so awesome genuinely.
Fiction is about Jimmy but also has his voice in it because Jimmy recorded the demo himself doing his vocals and the drumming on that song.
imagine never heard this song and then
someone play this for you because u just lost a friend that is dear to you
clearly tears will fall ..
Thank you again for this video.
listen to Fiction, it was the last song that Jimmy wrote and sang and the lyrics are almost like a farewell letter
Lidia Torres it was my farewell letter 💖
It’s the first time I heard this song and it hit me real hard. Yeah, sometimes it gets better.
Peace, Phil
My 11 year old daughter passed on the 1st November 2023 (drug driver) I am having this song as a final goodbye..... miss you BABY💔❤️🩹💔
My wife passed in 2010,this was an integral part of my recovery
Ive been a longtime Avenged Sevenfold fan but Ive never heard this song until now....wowww! 😳😍
Well done you guys, perfect reaction.
Satanic hand sign...smfh...trash
I love this group and this song especially. I am very happy Kel had a chance to listen to this song. Rock music come in so many different styles but the language and the message is true. Being Kel is from Canada, I hope she has or gets a chance to listen to a group from her home country. The group is "Aprilwine" from "Waverly". I love them . Listen to "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" . It is pretty solid . Mitch from Maui
Great singer. Amazing lyrics. I have a request. April Wine Roller. 2nd favorite band from Canada. Love. Kels reaction. Love to both of you.
You guys are my already fav and you made me cry 😥 ... Yes life is too short to live happily I wish too meet you guys and spend some happy time with you in this short life and see you on the other side of life too ... ❤ We miss you #revsullivan
i lost quite a few people in my life. when i found out that fear inoculum officially dropped, i was here. culling voices hits a whole different vibe just like this song. made me cry so hard and it reminds me of all the emotional and physical pain i went through just to be here. many mental problems and it's a lot. just came out to my aunt today as being gender fluid and she is a very big influence in my life that i can not be more than happy to have with me. i don't have the best relationship with my dad but i'm grateful for the good times i had with my aunt, my sister, etc. love all of you
Ay y’all beautiful! Love the way you two react the videos!!
I love them a7x their really awesome I can relate to the song so far away I have lost a lot of love ones and I still miss them to this very day but my heart goes up too the band
Jimmy had such a great voice himself .. God Bless "The Rev " The Best!!
I still miss you two.
We are here and we will return!!!!
KnR 🍑❤️🙏🏽🥰🔥💪🏼🎉
Beautiful tho. You two did this reaction justice.
Jimmy will be Remember R.I.P legend of drummer when it is his birthday I will be playing this on drum
The album nightmare is a masterpiece, a true work of art and one of the greatest albums of all time!
This song is a tribute to when I will see my friend again and tell him his son and daughter have become excellent people.
Btw... Prong is awesome. New York band. I lived in NYC when they were big. Fist is killer. So is Neck. Good call.
@@Kel.N.RichReactions I look forward to Kel's reaction. I deleted my comment about requesting Prong because I didn't feel right after seeing this full video. You two inspire me!! 😄
Also brooks wackerman was also one of the revs' favourite drummers
Jimmy The Rev rocks heaven now RIP brother See you on the Other side
Hoping to hear from y'all soon.
