tbh I really like these Star Trek movies. I know that they don't represent anything or whatsoever about the OG Star Trek, but as an action movie like these I rly like it
I enjoyed the second and third movies but this one was really lame. Personally I think the first few OG Star Trek movies and most of the NG Star Trek movies are better than all of the new ones combined.
I think the Young Kirk / Young Spock scenes helped establish some that some of the things the characters were struggling with in an intimate way. We see Kirk has always been a bit directionless and rebellious, the removal of his father from this timeline apparently was not great for his childhood. And Spock’s scene shows a very vulnerable child who hasn’t learned to suppress the display of emotions like his older self has (even though those emotions are most definitely still there). ...ok the Spock one feels more important, but it would be odd to have a Spock child scene without a Kirk one as well.
There you go. You understand it completely. Spock's has more direct impact on the plot. Kirk's is more about how the change in timeline has changed his life. They go together because of course they do.
So Nero did know that he went back in time. But the loss drove him mad, so he became convinced that the only way to save his home planet was to destroy the Federation. There's a scene at the beginning where the captain before George Kirk was taken aboard the Romulan ship and told them the stardate. The Romulans completely knew what date it was. Why they didn't travel to the planet and tell them they need to evacuate before this date, I have no idea
You missed a few good ones. Like, managing to beam Kirk onto the Enterprise despite having no idea where it was at the time. The pretty huge time gap between Kirk regaining consciousness, running from the monster, running into Spock, having him explain everything, then going to the outpost. And yet, despite the trip to Vulcan taking only a few minutes the first time, this time the Enterprise is still on route. That ridiculously huge room they wind up in filled with pipes and machinery which is obviously too large to fit onboard the Enterprise, going by the exterior shots we've seen. Kirk and Spock able to just beam aboard the Narada, despite it being an incredibly advanced ship from a century in the future which apparently has no defences against that. Also, not bringing a huge frickin' bomb with them to blow up the ship if the operation to rescue Commander Pike goes south.

I'm thankful I never saw it, I suppose.
Take the Picard we know..
Melt him down.
Place the liquid Picard in a Picard-shaped mold, Carbonite if possible.
Let sit for twenty years.
Crack open with a laser scalpel.
"That kinda sounds like autopilot. He should probably leave."
Oh, woops!
Woopsie!

PitchGuy: "Yes."
Hahahahahahaha. Hey isn't that a TH-cam comments section go-to joke. LMAO
I feel like this is directed toward me
It is appropriately used, though.
“Is it like a reboot, a sequel, a prequel?
Yes”
I’m dead 😂
Do a brooklyn nine-nine pitch meeting
"I knew your dad, you should enlist in Starfleet"
Yay, nepotism! Exactly the type of star trek universe all the fans have loved over the decades.
tbh I really like these Star Trek movies.
They do the job of entertaining very well, plus good actors too
I never gave a F about Star Trek, which was always cheesy as hell, so I loved the new movies. All the backlash they get is from the ST zealots.
Love the lens flare in the meeting
I saw that "super easy, barely an inconvenience" from a mile away and it was wonderful
Dear Ryan,
a Pitch Meeting for *THE ROOM* would be really tight.
- A fan
A Pitch Meeting where they make The Room make sense would be amazing!
Olga Nohra Dude the whole movie and book Disaster Artist is all about making The Room. Highly recommended, especially the audiobook!
@@Liusila Thank you for the recommendation. I'll have to see if Tubi or Netflix have it.
It would be super easy, barely an inconvenience.
A pitch meeting for "Room" would be...awkward
Why did the bullies have enough emotional thought to pick on someone else for being different?
really, vulcans do have emotions, they just learn to ignore and or control them.
@@nybergsgarage Your comment is illogical.
"Suppress" might be a better word for that.
Stephen Nyberg has the right of it. The Vulcans split off from the warlike Romulans, whom they otherwise look and dress like (in ST:TNG anyway).
I've never clicked on a notification that fast.
It would have been more entertaining if in each cut to a character he added another lens flare until the screen was filled with them.
Add the Beatles, "A Hard Days Night" to one of the monitors, and you've got me buying a ticket.
“So wait do black holes destroy things or send them back in time?”
“They do whatever literally whatever I want.” 😂😂😂😂
The problem is that people get black holes and wormholes confused. If you try to travel through a black hole, the only place you'll end up is dead.
@@ThreadBomb Is that the problem?
@@ThreadBomb Something something rotating Kerr black hole something something ring singularity wormhole. If all else fails, just bounce a graviton particle beam off the main deflector dish.
Other people- "It's gonna be hard for Ryan to make Screen Rant great."
Me- "Actually it's gonna be super easy barely an inconvenience!"
The only thing that would make screen rant great is if they stopped posting everything else.
I usually just listen to these videos back to back like I listen to podcasts, and it wasn't until today that I finally got to appreciate the lens flares on the screen
Oh my God.... JJ turned the Force into the black holes from Star Trek.
I wanna see a pitch meeting for the actual start of the original Star Trek show.
NBC: Uh, Gene, we told you not to add your girlfriend to the pilot episode.
GREAT BIRD: Oh, sorry about that.
NBC: you're forgiven. Don't add your girlfriend to the series we just greenlighted, ok?
GREAT BIRD: got ya.
NBC: Um, Gene, can we have a word with you...
Sharknado! 🦈 A pitch meeting for Sharknado would be super easy, barely an inconvenience... And tight!
Wow-wow-wow! This!
It actually might be really hard. The movie was just so unabashedly bad, to the point where it was almost trying to BE bad, that it can get difficult to even make fun of.
I know I'm one of the people who ask for a Star Trek pitch meeting and you didn't disappoint although I love that movie there was some absolutely silly parts in it. Thanks Ryan
Nostradamus - "In the future people will make lots of money by talking to themselves"
Ryan,
As you've done the first two--here's hoping we will see a Star Trek Beyond Pitch Meeting.
Pitcher witch mee- I mean witch pitch, witch meeting pi, damn it! Witcher pitch please!
"Well it's gonna be pretty hard to make Star Wars but different huh?"
"Actually it'll be super easy barely an inconvenience."
I mean, other than spaceships and aliens, they have pretty much nothing in common. So you may as well say that Superman is Star Wars but different.
Pre-JJ Trek is ofc very different from Star Wars, but JJ Trek is diet Star Wars.
Love how you actually used jj Abrams light art style on this video 😂 attention to detail right there 🖤
Finding a time traveling Mr. Spock and a young Scotty within walking distance is tight!
1:35 they bullied him 35 times and never made a yo momma jokes?..
Yo mama married yo dad. There's some one somewhere that would take offence to that.
Yo mama so human she has a shorter lifespan.
@@jonwells385 well what if their parents never did get married. Would they be allowed to take offense then? Like, if their dad was some violent sex criminal and he raped and impregnated their mom?
And Vulcans think they're so smart!
Its crazy to think before Hemsworth became famous people just thought Chris Pine also played as his dad
Has anyone else started saying “I don’t know” to their bosses in the way the writer does here? Private jokes are tight!
No
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
I'm not sure that's the best career move.
I'm working on "Super easy, barely an inconvenience"... I await the moment it's Tight!
I'm waiting to tell them that I need them to get all the way up off my back about something.
Everyone's saying that they should make a Pitch Meeting TH-cam channel but Screen Rant isn't going to do that because they know they'll lose all their subscribers then
yeah yeah yeah
Ryan has a personal Chanel with the pitch meetings and a ton of original skits
I love how there are lens flares going up and down the sides of the screen the whole time
I'm learning so much about black holes from this
