The thing about British food in general, and this is something Orwell wrote an essay on, is that the best examples of it are generally found inside private homes rather than in restaurants. Gastropubs have started to feel that void somewhat, and our local does a decent roast dinner, but if you want a nice roast you'd be better coming round to my house.

We don't eat breakfast like that every day haha, usually on a Saturday or Sunday. And yes black pudding is really delicious! It's pigs blood/chopped fat/herbs and spices wrapped in an intestine and you can either boil it in its sausage form, or you can cut it up and fry it. Also, our sausages are really good and a lot like the Germans, we have a lot of variety of sausage....we also don't just have sausage for breakfast, we have a dish called bangers and mash, which is sausage like you had for breakfast, mashed potatoes and we have it either with baked beans or onion gravy or both! :) different regions of the country have their own speciality foods, so you will have to come back and travel all around the UK and taste all the different foods we have to offer :)

So nice to see someone travel to the UK and try our Sunday roast. Seems all anyone ever wants to try is the fish & chips or full English. To us Brits, I'd argue the Sunday roast means more to us than anything else when it comes to food. Also, never get the beef, it always gets left out and dries up. Chicken and gammon is the way to go.

My Mum's is SOOOO good compared to other places I've had it in the states. She puts cabbage and caramelized leeks in her's. It's basically butter heavy mashed potatoes w/cabbage and leeks (or ramps when they are in season). The only main difference I found is in NA there's more sweet thing. Similar to continental breakfasts with Danishes and croissants.
