I've recently developed a bit of noise in my PS pump, I think I'll give this a ago. My PS is the same as yours, late 65 build. Its not quite the same noise as yours, more an occasional 'squaking' when turning at low speeds. Cheers
I think the control valve causes most problems, they are a bit tricky. I have changed the fluid since this video to penrite power steering fluid and the pump is even quieter and much less jittery/squaky at low revs. even though i think the issue is with the control valve as there is no pressure release valve on this system which can cause the pump to over heat the fluid.
@@TheBuckthat Cheers mate. I've been running Castrol Type F, perhaps its time for flush and change of brand. I've got a slight leak from from where the threaded high pressure outlet exists the housing, and have tried to leave it alone as it was a real challenge to get it to seal again.
Best video that I could find on changing power steering fluid. Thanks!
No problems ray, Glad it could be of some assistance.
nice mustang thank you I have a 63 falcon sprint convertible 4 speed - got it from a guy in Toronto
Great video Buck! Very helpful, about to try the same on mine!
Hopefully it helps, power steering has been perfect for the last couple of years since the video.
@@TheBuckthat ahhh that's even better to hear! Thank you sir!

Great job this service would apply to majority of recirculating ball PS systems!
Great video! What kind of muffflers do you have on your Mustang? Sounds great!!
Hey mike have a look at my other video, details the exhaust from headers to tail pipes.

I've been looking everywhere for the ps pump bracket that you have shown in this video. Any guidance where I may find it?
I think custom Mustangs in Melbourne may have the bracket, but its not cheap around $315.00 www.custommustangs.com.au/65-66-p-s-pump-mounting-bracket
