Thanks a lot. I owned a mustang when I was 17. And my Dad did everything. And its great to have someone show people how to do something like this, while others call it mundane...I call it stressful. I'm 59 now......
Such a helpful video. Thank you. especially the pulley puller use. I found that helpful. Also, I was entertained by the oscillating fan in the window. ;)
hello for future reference the pump case has a notch on the front lip and the face of the pump has an indent. you line those 2 up for perfect alignment
Love seeing a little company grow! Quality vs quantity is how I see it. Thank you for putting this great video out there. Oh..... BTW did you see those gloves!!
awesome video, I was hoping it would be a similar set up to my 65, but nope. Trying to see where/how the bracket fits - holes don't line up on my dry fit trial
hello! I was wondering if you could post a video showing how you run the power steering hose from the pump down to the box. I had my '67 Mustang for a few years and recently, I ran into an issue when the hose decided to run up against the manifold and it started burning through the hose and it caused fluid to shoot everywhere. I can't seem to figure out a "route" so that way the hose doesn't hit against anything that will damage it. Great video btw! Definitely will subscribe!
I'll see what I can do. What engine are you running? The route for small blocks are different than big blocks. I do have some footage I could throw together for the small block 289.
We’re you able to put together a few shots of the hose routing? I have the small block and have had trouble finding the correct routing for the PS hoses.
Well for a pump, I have learned it easier to deal locally. You order things like that online and its more of a hassle to return them if there is an issue. I've got my last few pumps from AutoZone and haven't had an issue. As far as the bracket goes, I would get it from National Parts Depot.
the belt slips over the ps pulley, the crank pulley, and water pump pulley. You then pivot the power steering pump over with a prybar and tighten it down to make it tight.
My 67 pump has 235,000 miles on it and still working find, I've had this cougar for 47 years, i hope I'm not to old to do the repair one day, thanks
Very cool! My greatest fear...getting too old to work on these cars.

Never too late to learn! The truth is, we are all always learning. I honestly think I learn more by trying to teach.

Oh awesome thank you!
Hi, thanks for the tip at 14:40, I confirm it works. Good work

Oh ya those early cars I think mostly used different pumps.
When you turned the wheel while running, was the cap off the pump reservoir?
I can't remember. Probably.

@@AlfsMustangGarage it’s a edelbrock 289. And that’d be great!

@@stevetrembly unfortunately I have not worked on it since this comment. I had a busy year. Hopefully I will soon
What size belt did you go with? I have this same exact setup
Should I install a filter in the hose???
Wouldn't hurt.
I have a 67 coupe. It’s missing a pump and bracket. Is there an upgrade or a goo place to get one

What size belt is that? I have a 390
I can't remember. Would probably be different for a FE engine anyways.
How did you get the ps belt back on?

@@AlfsMustangGarage that’s what I figured! What a joy lol
