Paul, either you are the most patient man on earth or somewhere there is a pile of missing tools where they got thrown 😉. Love your cool demeanor, and if you don't lose it off camera, you deserve to. You're winning 👍
If it was easy, everyone would have a rock crawler, its all trial and error, no two rigs are the same. Good on you to have the patience to work through it Paul. With no blue print to follow, sometimes ya gotta sleep on it before you can visualize the end result. With the front tires sticking out beyond the bumper, this thing should climb a concrete wall.
Just home from a five day adventure ride on my ktm. Just got home and so stoked to see you are my first recommended video. I came from CA to do my first year after high school at Dixie in '87. I've been waiting every Wed and sun to see what "SUPER DAD" & Co are doing. You guys are the hope for America. Fj Fj Fj, I built a 40w a 350 in 1990. Thank your family for sharing purpose , honor and just plain fun. Much love. You guys are rock stars.
Fantastic that Paul love what he’s doing, not everybody has a job like that.. A lot of people are very lucky that TH-cam came along.. made it possible for them to improve their farms businesses and of course what Paul’s doing. Most people would say, not enough videos from fab rat. Carl from Wellington nv. There’s more trails in California and Nevada than you can imagine.. thanks again..
Hey Michelle sure your the one reading these, thank you so oooo much for becoming the editor you are, these vids / shows whatever you wanna call them are so pleasing to watch. If you have ever read a bad comment on any of your content those ppl were idiots. Great work 👏
I still have the blue print for my dream house in my head. Unfortunately, I'm now 66 and disabled, so it will never happen. Wasted space in my head, I guess.
I'm a dog and cat guy. Had a friend didn't like cats. Every time he showed up Mama kitty would instantly be in his lap. He'd shove her off and say Go on cat. After about a year or less he call her Mama Kitty and talk to her and rub her. Everyone would turn their head so he didnt see us laughing. Once he had a girlfriend, they had a cat or two or three and he'd talk to em all like he'd done for years. One day somebody mentioned how he'd changed from the first month's of he and Mama Kitty. He denied it all that made it even funnier.
Well hell, it wouldn't let me finish. Somebody mentioned how years before he couldn't stand Mama Kitty, he took umbrage and said he'd always loved her. Everyone just grinned.
As usual, you are building better than factory! I do enjoy your problem solving. In fact, I wish you would film more of your "mistakes" and solutions! You have a rare gift and I enjoy watching you use it.
Looking good Paul. Sure is interesting watching you work through the problems. Seems every job I do, ends up involving an unexpected element or the need for a tool I don’t have close by.
I whole-heartedly agree with the statement "I'm not a cat person". I give exactly two craps that my wife calls the feline "Sophia"... you can say "hey dipsh*t " in a gentle tone and the critter will come to see what you are feeding it.
Really like your channel and your way of figuring out how to get stuff done but wouldn't it have been easier to just c-notch the frame over front axle and install shock mount on top of notch..Not a fabricator but was just wondering.
I enjoy watching you and other Fabricators work out problems. You made an interesting comment about the blue print is all in your head. My Late Dad and younger brother can build stuff with just the blue print in their head. Me? I got to draw the thing out with measurements and some times it still doesn't come out.
FABulous work! can't get enough of your videos. I was looking forward with your channel cranking more content since your announcement of working full time in the garage. . .. your videos deserve to be longer too as they are not boring...
Great video thanks! This is definitely not paint by numbers, changes changes changes you seem to take it all in stride. The truck is getting to have a real mean look! Play through!
Those ORI Struts might be hard on the Wallet but they sure are the Best there is by far I need some on my XJ and Thanks to Matt from Matts's Offroad Recovery now I need a V8 Radiator on my 4.0 XJ and one of those fancy 4.7 race Jeep Engine lol
The picture on the wall of the old Ford destruction derby truck by the trophies, it all comes together now. I watched all those videos, you were unstoppable in that thing.
I guess two things are true at this point: screw the rad, winch goes there, rad goes in the back. Or, narrow talll rad goes there, seemless tube goes down the chassis as a winch rope guide and a bit of extra chassis ridgidity. - honestly a rear winch and rad was spot on for me, but I was at the dafter end of off-roading :o)
I love watching you do fab work like this. Really opens my mind on things that are possible and shows me a new way that I wouldn’t have immediately thought of when you “present the problem”.
Nice progress, Paul. You're gonna have yourself a crawler that you'll be proud of and happy to drive/wheel. It will certainly be one of the more unique vehicles on the trail, but you knew that, right? Dig your frame rail air tank idea, great way to utilize space. Will be curious to see how much she weighs after all your mods are complete. I'm guessing between #3500-#4000. I'm wrenching on a '65 Corvair, but had to put that on hold for a shoulder replacement surgery that I'm recovering from now. It'll be another six months before I'm wrenching on anything, so watching your progress helps me feel a vicarious sense of completion. Looking forward to its maiden voyage.
