I was an engineer in real heavy oil engineering. The reason we went to computer aided design in a big part was to find all the errors before we built the stuff. Running the computer to find where stuff would not fit was fun, it was called the 'clash check'. When I started though in 74 we had paper and it was always a worry when the stuff turned up that it would fit. Working on vehicles though people don't realize is not easy. Anyone who can fix a car can fix most things.
I worked in a business that installed factory built fireplaces, and one of the contractors we installed for, built their first computer designed home. Hopefully things went better after that one. The corner chase didn't line up for each floor, so we used 18 adjustable 45° elbows to exit at the cap.
When I worked for Caterpillar, I pulled the transmission out of an articulated dump truck. It was soooo tight that it scraped the paint off of both sides of the trans as it came out of the hole. In fact it was so tight that after it was halfway out I had to tip it at a different angle to clear things, when I backed off with the crane, it stuck right there. This thing weighed about 1500 pounds! Could they have made the frame 1/2" wider? I think so. I had to grease up the sides of the trans to slide it back in place. I think that I was just LUCKY that it was able to come out without frame modification. The part of the frame that would have had to be modified was the Roll-Over-Protection mount. That would have created a whole new bunch of problems.

I love the cantankerous comments. I'm sad I will never be a part of that segment because I enjoy your content from start to finish. Even old Papa Darr!
👍
Doing as much fabrication as you do Paul, a CNC Plasma Table could be a game changer. Maybe a manufacturer that watches this channel could help out? Great video. Love how you and Michelle deal with "Negative" "A--Holes"!
I love the little segments that we all go on 🤣 ill never understand why people feel like their negative opinion means anything to anyone else... besides, the banter you guys have makes the video more relatable.
Love the show, the laugh and the real life family values.. Keep up the good work, ‘trolls’ will always be around spreading their hate because it makes them feel ‘powerful’ in their little minds….
It's funny that you said "if you don't like Utah weather wait 5 minutes" we say "if Oregon weather isn't your thing wait ten minutes. And don't forget an umbrella. You are living the dream! I love watching your videos and learning new tricks and things I had no clue about! The whole family is entertaining!
Glad Paul is making progress on the FJ, and it's great seeing the thought process, mistakes and all, and y'all's awesome attitude throughout. Can't wait to see him putting it through it's paces with the Morrvair!
The thought process on projects are 90% of the fun👍
Probably one of my favorite videos that you e guys have done. It was long and with lots of various things floating around. Love how you call out the trolls by name. Absolutely love it.
Love watching your process of how you visualize things and how they come together. Plus how Michelle brings you food and then hangs out and how you guys laugh and giggle and still have fun together. My wife does the same thing and I know how enjoyable it is when she shows up with a snack or cold drink when I’m frustrated by whatever I’m doing in the shop. Great to see it all.
Paul and Michelle, thank you for being genuine and down to Earth. I'm glad you don't let the goofy comments bug you and I'm glad you have a segment on them to show their silliness. Love the channel, keep sharing with us and you all are fabulous! Fabrats fan forever! F³!
Paul and Michelle, you handled the negative comment's really well, remember , the majority of us love the both of you and enjoy the quality of your channel. Best wishes from the U.K.
Omg I was just telling myself that Paul was dyslexic. Check into the dyslexic advantage. It's the reason he is so good at what he does. It changed my life
Man I love seeing the custom built from scratch. This is looking good, I can’t wait to see the USS golden nugget in the shop
👍
I Love watching Paul and his family. Paul is a very knowledgeable person and Michelle is very funny person. You are always going to have those people who are hater’s just keep doing what you are doing and enjoy LIFE. Paul I would like to see you demo again you were fun to watch!
thanks for coming clean on the "numbers dyslexia", it's real. I had learning issues with math as a child, and spent a year+ working through it, to accommodate the errors I was building in consistently. Fortunately, as a woodworker, I can read tapes right.
I Love the fact that the family is involved. Keep your show the way it is. Don't change a thing.
honestly i like the hoop. i think it added an unusual style to his jeep so now it stands out as "his jeep" and the golden nugget save run was Awesome. man that was some Wheeling ya'll had to do! i commend you on getting in there and out safe as ya'll did! cannot wait to see her fixed up and running once more after 40 years!
READING THE COMMENTS WAS THE BEST THING EVER! Y’all leave Gary’s XJ alone!! And y’all are the best! Would love to meet you guys when we come down to see Matt in about 10 months. ❤️🐞
Would love to meet you as well. 👌
Cantankerous comments they will always be there, just like Capris. I enjoyed it and I enjoy all the builds!
Golden Nugget!
Don't change a thing. You guys are the best family I never met ❤. Just keep being you and let the world eat.
Your mechanical skills and fabricating is remarkable. NEVER feel down about dealing with dyslexia. You are aware and deal with it. PROPS to you.
Do not change a thing. Michelle is part of what makes the channel great. Keep up the good work!!
Loved the longer video this time! I know it takes a ton of work but we absolutely appreciate it!
Paul's comments about dyslexia and his view on it was amazing!! Totally agree and a great way to put it!!! Makes me love this channel even more!!
The main thing you gotta remember about dyslexia is;
" 2 wrongs don't make a right,
but 3 rights make a left!"

Michelle this is just a special shout out to you. I love your contribution to this channel and thought you know. As a total contributor to the whole I want you to continue with your contribution, keeping this character (Paul) in line, and providing a different line in understanding this family business and personal interactions with friends and family. Women always have the ability to knock us down a notch and help us in explaining our decisions and actions. Plus we like you and your laugh.
I've been a Weldor/Fabricator for 45 yrs, I think you do excellent work and I like all the family input.
Despite what some viewers don't like about your crew is exactly what I love about you guys. Super informative, super entertaining. Thanks for sharing dyslexia issues. Dealt with lots of times in the machining world. Looks like you figured it out. You make me feel like I am part of your family. As I am just over the mountain in Hurricane, can't wait to meet.
I love everyone on your channel. And believe me, I’ve seen hacks, Paul ain’t one! It’s sad there is so much negativity in the world. Let’s stay positive peeps! Michelle, keep laughing!
I will bet that the idiot that commented that could not repair a lawnmower, let alone anything important.
You all are awesome, don’t change, and tell Michelle to keep right on laughing. Paul is a very lucky man. Great channel folks.
I think this channel has peaked. Two of the coolest freakin’ rigs in the same shop at the same time and I’m fully invested in seeing them complete. This is great!!
I grew up with dyslexia as well, only held me back as a kid... Now that I'm a grown man I'm experienced home builder, and fabricator... I agree with you just got to work with what you've got, appreciate you taking a second to actually talk about dyslexia...
Fabrats (Paul), I love your videos and the fabrication. I'm an old (+70yrs) outdoorish guy and think you guy's are awesome. Keep the fabrication rolling and continue with your recoveries. Love you all. Regards Ben Viljoen from South Africa. ❤
I enjoy y’all’s stuff every time I watch it and learn something new every time, the world is full of unhappy people that want others to feel the same way. Misery loves company. Keep it up fab rat family y’all are the true definition of American grit and wholesomeness
Never, ever, grow up! Love you guys. Never change.
I love this channel. It makes me realise that sometimes to do a difficult job, all you need to do is take the first step and let the rest just happen. As for being dyslexic, I have dyslexia. I could barely write a sentence at school. I was told I would never amount to anything yet here I am, a Paramedic, able to turn my hand to anything that interests me.
Really looking forward to the Golden Nugget! I pretty sure that Paul going to do an amazing job on it!
I like the mouth bumper . Y'all are awesome . Don't stop being yourself
I am impressed by how you can understand inches at all Paul, your my hero. Here in Norway we use the metric system, inches is way to complicated for a Norwegian brain. 😂
You want to try Australia, we changed to metric, but us old buggers stuck to imperial,
to be taught one thing then suddenly change to another was not easy.
Btw, my parents came from Norway.
@@ivanolsen8596 Imperial is still quite common in the marine industry in Aus.
I'm constantly swapping between both systems.
Michelle, I love your laugh and consider it a bonus every time you show up, keep it up!
I love everything about your channel, from Paul’s growing tool shed to Michelle’s giggle and her wardrobe choices. Keep doing what you’re doing!
YES! AMERICAN'S FAVORITE HELICOPTER PILOT RULES! Paul is so much happier when guys are together! Keep up the awesome work
You are not alone with your affliction . Been dealing with it all my life and I'm now 73 . Been a mechanic of one sort or another and feel your pain . But as you we learn to live with it ...
Sunday is now officially complete. A cool build and Michelle’s laughter. 👍👍. And the Suzuki!
The hoop is alright. It certainly looks better than all the Jeeps running around with angry eyes grille
I think when its filled up with all the other stuff mounted on like the lights and whatnot it'll look real good
Y’all are awesome. The naysayers have their heads up their butts.
We love you guys. You inspire me to get out in my shop and work on projects.we also love name that part with Michelle..
THANKS for your channel. Comment: I'm amazed that people who get to watch your videos FOR FREE would make all these negative comments. If they don't like the channel, change it. There is no requirement to watch.
I enjoy watching what you do, & all the info you provide. Much appreciated, & thanks for sharing your work & your knowledge.
I also enjoy "What's that part" with Michelle. Funny and down to earth.
Love the haters y’all 😂😂
Their life is unfulfilled, they have to spew their self disappointments on other’s 😳
Y’all are fun to watch, the love you have for your family & friends, entertaining and always positive…..more of what this world needs👍
The FJ is coming along nicely!!!
Very well said!
👍
@@remorrey Thank you sir
The fab rats family doesn't need to change a thing, like Paul said I'm a realist not a mathemusican ❤ cantankerous comments are always gonna come your way, these people live in a world looking through rose coloured glasses, Paul when you said get Dave Chapelle's phone#,I just thought what a great compilation that would be to have him as a guest on the channel, he is a great personality and builds the same stuff you like, it just don't get any better, you 2 would have some great laughs, collaboration is part of what makes life great, and with the golden nugget coming into the shop now, I read up on the LJ 20 SUZUKI'S and there's all kinds of info on them, 3cyl,2 stroke engines and from my understanding robust also, you'll have fun and a interesting time with it, looking forward to those videos to ❤
How can anyone be negative towards Paul and especially Michelle? You all are such great people and treat your viewers as if they're family!
Love y'all!! Michelle, keep doing all that you do!! Love the fab work, but love all the banter too!!
Heck yeah! I was hoping The Nugget's rebuild would be documented! Even better that you're the one doing it!
👍
Haters gonna hate they have no life so they complain. Your channel is my first to watch for videos than Matt's off road recovery. I'd rather hear a laughing woman than a wining bitching one don't change a thing. Having the family involved is what makes the channel great. Keep it up. Love y'all from Tennessee
Yall rock!! So glad yall have got to the point yall can laugh at the haters. When the haters come out that's when you know you are at the top! Keep killing it guys!!
I love this show. Paul you are what I would have been had I not become a nurse. Jack of all trades! Michelle, you add a little light to the show. Love your laugh.
Paul, I have it too. When I went to school they did not understand it (60's and 70's. It was maddening but I adjusted my learning on my own to deal with it. Many Dyslexic people are very very creative. I have met many like you and I. We can do anything, but we have to do it our way!
Was waiting patiently this morning for this🤘🏻🇺🇸
Dude travels fast. I swear I just saw him recovering Ed's Zuki in California like 5 minutes ago. Lol
Can't wait to see Ed's Suzuki that's going to be interesting.. just finished watching the Matt's recovery
Michelle, I like that you and Paul are a team. Keep on talking all you want.
Love that you can laugh at the idiots! You know what they say about opinions.......
I personally love watching this channel. Paul, your skills are amazing, and Michelle your laugh is great. Nice to see a truly happy couple.
