Samantha, most schools + universities in Spain, Portugal or their former colonies do not tie in Spanish culture with Filipino culture. Nor do they introduce basic vocabulary from Chavacano.
Some Tagalog words such as nanay + tatay originate from the Nahuatl language, in Mexico.
Most of the Filipinos there who are fluent in Spanish are the clergy + the Chavacano speakers.
The question re: Filipinos + Latin culture is this:
