Chavacano is a Spanish creole. It was used as a pidgin language in the 16th century during the Spanish Colonial Period here in the Philippines. It is spoken by minority of Filipinos and is commonly used in Zamboanga City.

Grammar has nothing to do with Filipino. But Filipinos use the Chavacano people as an excuse to lie about how their own culture is like Latinos. Stop being ashamed of your Filipino culture. Just accept that your Filipino language Tagalok is nothing like Spanish. Love yourself and stop being so insecure. Let the Chavacanos have their Identity. Stop trying to Devalue the claim of your fellow Filipinos. Let the Chavacanos enjoy their spotlight. Dont be cheap. Have your own stage.

@@kakerukakeru8614 lol, no. Spanish evolved already when they left the Philippines-this thus resulted on Philippine Spanish loan words came from old Spanish, which is the ancestor of modern Spanish spoken today. Similar story why Latin American Spanish and each of its countries or regions have different variation of Spanish. Even the Spanish langauge in Spain have their own dialectal variations.
This is a basic concepr of a language not just Spanish; even Philippine languages evolve from their old forms.

@@lainea8628 @RIA No, you should be the one who needs to learn the differences.
Dialects are just variations (in tones and some of the vocabulary) of a language. However, languages are different in terms of its vocabulary and grammar, mainly.
If Cebuano, Ilocano, Waray, etc. are really dialects of "Filipino" which is just a dialect of Tagalog, then can a Tagalog speaker understand them? They are languages, since they won't understand most of what these tongues mean.

The song Porque was aired in radio stations of Zamboanga around late 2009 on its original chavacano version before it was discovered and put into Tagalog version which was officially released in 2011

The Chavacano version was actually the original version, but the Tagalog was the more popular due to the Manileño's demand to have the song translated.

Chavacano is Spanish like a child would speak with some Filipino words thrown in. I grew up in the Philippines and we spoke Spanish at home but I also can only understand maybe 90% because I recognize the Filipino words.
