As a Filipino, when I hear about my country, the words "third world country" come into my mind (for foreigners too perhaps). Well, that was before when I was but just an innocent, freshly circumcised kid in the Northern part of the Philippines.
As a growing kid in the mid-80s, all that they taught us (using the f*cking books issued by the government - old and some pages were already missing) about my beloved country were wrong and there are so many facts that haven't been included. Mostly in favor of the yellow tards (Aquinos). The book that we used tell you about EDSA Revolution also known as People Power Revolution and other histories but the correct details haven't been included because the corrupt government at that time wanted to hide the truth and so Marcos will appear to be the villain when in fact it is the Aquinos who destroyed the Philippines.
Pres. Marcos has done so many big projects but wasn't also given the credits for it. Actually, many including the young generation today who knows nothing about what really happened talk sh*t against Marcos without knowing that they are using the projects made by Marcos.
Pres. Marcos' achievements can fill a book. I cannot write them all here so better check this link. web.facebook.com/notes/kuya-pio/marcos-achievements/959154090767830/?_rdc=1&_rdr
The true history is from the people who have experienced living in those times, and they all say that Marcos time was good. The media has made a significant role in "hiding" history. ABS-CBN is also clearly pro-Aquinos. During the last election campaign for the presidency, Pres. DU30 paid a handsome amount of money to this station but not one did not air even for a single f*cking second. Now, Pres. DU30 tells the public that he may not approve their (ABS-CBN) franchise that will end next year. Well, good for them because this media is bias. They actually give news but only those that are not in favor of DU30. But recently, after this "franchise thing", ABS-CBN aired very positive news about DU30 administration and that was a late-night when most people were already sleeping which is pathetic and I only saw that on TH-cam.
Marcos had predictions about the Philippines and 2 of them gave me goosebumps.
    1. Marcos predicted the rise of Philippine Pambansang Kamao
"...we will have another true champion and well-known world champion who will rise from the Visayas. I hope it will happen in our time, if not in the near future and the Philippines will triumph again that we will have a brave "PAMBANSANG KAMAO" - the literal translation of "national fist", said Marcos in this video - 1:35 - 2:08 th-cam.com/video/e8s1edzbNIs/w-d-xo.html
This prediction came into reality in the person of Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao who is also known as our pambansang kamao. It's interesting, right?
    2. Bataan Nuclear Power Plant and Philippine economy
    Video source - th-cam.com/video/KfNFr8MTwsM/w-d-xo.html
"My recommendation to Mrs. Corazon Aquino is to continue the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant if possible. Because...I told her, this is the solution in meeting the country's energy demands and decreasing dependence on imported oil. But... she did not accept my suggestion and that it will only remind the public about Marcos while the Nuclear Power Plant is there. What kind of mindset is that? That is revenge. Let us not incriminate the Filipino people. One day you will see, **the Philippines has fallen** (to troll wannabes, if you find this translation wrong, provide the PERFECT AND CORRECT translation and not bash me because if you do that, you are no more than the dumbest person of this planet.)
These 2 so far happened and it gave me real goosebumps.
It's good that Pres. DU30 is now continuing the plans of Marcos. One of which is the build-build-build project.
A suggestion in making research. You have to be careful because media here is bias. They have made the history "false". There are lots to say about Marcos, but it will make this comment too longgggggg.
4:29 Sabah is also included in our textbooks in the elementary if I am not mistaken and I have not made any research on this, but it has been said that it was part of the Philippines but was sold by the Aquinos to Malaysia. Whatever the truth is, this is still interesting.
About the Spratly, I am a bit lazy to look for the facts now lol though if I can remember it right, I have seen a video with the old map that shows the Spratly is owned by the Philippines and that China has no evidence it was theirs. I challenge other viewers to present their research and add it here as I am too lazy now. I only have about 3 hours of sleep and I almost forgot about this comment I mentioned to Max.
6:15 We were taught in the elementary that the Philippine archipelago is composed of 7,107 islands during low tide and 7,100 islands during high tide but NAMRIA has previously discovered unknown islands and so the Philippines is now composed of 7,641 islands.
8:30 This is not new to me. Aside from what these guys said, the Philippines is also the Center of the Center of Marine Biodiversity.
    Video proof - th-cam.com/video/7oOp-lbCFr4/w-d-xo.html
8:49 Speaking of the "biggest", aside from the big malls here, we also have the biggest arena in the world which is the Philippine Arena.
You can make a video reaction actually - th-cam.com/video/EANejrn5o58/w-d-xo.html
11:30 That's right. As a growing kid, I was already learning 2 languages, English (being taught in school and Kankanaey which is a native dialect of the Igorots - I learned some from neighboring villages and the people. I am half-Ilokano and half Igorot.) Ilokano is my native tongue so no problem with that lol. All in all, I am an ITAGLISH (Ilokano, Tagalog, and English) speaker. I am not so fluent in Kankanaey so I omitted the "K" for KITAGLISH :) though I can communicate pretty decent in that dialect 😂.
When people meet from different provinces in Metro Manila, we communicate in TAGLISH but when with other friends from the same province, we speak our native dialect and if that happens, it's like you are a foreigner in your own country because you don't understand what others are saying. lol. It's like you will encounter a different dialect when going to every province. How cool is that!
Speaking of the Filipinos being scattered around the world, I can't stop thinking about TGC (The God Culture research). At first, I was a skeptic. Now I am following their TH-cam channel.
The reasons why I follow TGC is that they have tackled and somehow given proof and explanations about the following:
    - from Filipinos being so friendly to being able to smile despite all problems we have
    - being scattered worldwide
    - being the center of the center of marine biodiversity
    - only Catholic nation in Asia
    - The philippine tradition of circumcision
    - proof that the Philippines is the ancient Ophir in the Bible
If you want, you can react to TGC's Solomon's Gold series where they show us what they have found.
    Starting from part 1 - th-cam.com/video/u4xQlVOmRkg/w-d-xo.html
and you can jump to part 6 - th-cam.com/video/12tOU7Szbpk/w-d-xo.html
    and part 7 - th-cam.com/video/WlFBxwiDKiw/w-d-xo.html.
Note that these videos are long, more or less than an hour for most of the series. If you can react to that series, parts 1, 6, and 7 are enough for me. It's up to you if you want to watch the entire series without a video reaction.
So there, I should stop it here or else you will have eternity in reading my comment. Yahua God bless you and your family circle.

Regardless of the good works that Marcos did (or tried to do), it doesn't justify the atrocities that were committed and the violations of human rights that were perpetrated when he was in power. It also does not justify why he kept power for himself for twenty years. If he was a champion for the people, then why didn't he allow democracy to come much sooner?
While the things he's done on the good of the country are debatable at best, one cannot ignore the false imprisonment, the executions and trying to control the media. All of these are actions of a dictator trying to hold on to power for his own sake.
I'm not saying the Aquinos are heroes, all I'm saying is that Marcos was definitely not. And he is not a misunderstood benevolent leader whose actions have been whitewashed by his enemies. He didn't just do wrong things, he committed atrocities and is justly vilified by history. A hundred nuclear power plants are not worth the lives he and his administration destroyed.

Have you come here yet? I'm a retired U.S. military guy, married to a smart, great looking Filipina, and living full time in the P.I. Been here for almost a decade. What you waiting for? I was actually stationed here (Clark AB, Angeles City) in the early '80s, and sort of fell in love with the place back then. Kept coming back for vacations and visits, for the next few decades. Finally moved here for good. After military retirement, I worked for Harris Corp, and then moved over to Lockheed Martin for a while. Finally had enough working, and moved here. Military retired (pension), 65 yrs old, so Social Security check (Pension), AND I'm listed at 70% VA disability (Pension) (due to numerous injuries during Iraq war/no "allowed" to work any more). Great place to retire to, and have NO big worries! Get over here!

There's no dispute in the east of the Philippines so naming it "Philippine sea" is fine.. with regards to south china sea, because of what the government of china did that brought us to name the south china sea as "West Philippine sea".. china claims that the sea is named after their own country so everything within it belongs to them.. and then, since there are disputes, they brought their old map with the famous 9-dash line that claims most of the south china sea.. you can search about it if you want.. no one can stop china from building structures in china even the EEZ (exclusive economic zone).. Philippine sea is in the east and west Philippine sea in the west

A lot of them dont understand that filipinos are about family and always looking after their family even if they get married and start their own family and that when they work or move to the other country, theyll try to share their blessings to their family and neighbours/friends. That way foreigner would have a better understanding of what its like on having a filipino partner

there's another international airport currently under construction in my home town. so, expect less jams and crams in NAIA in the near future.
and... about Marcos and Ninoy.. welp.. theres kind of controversies going on.
the Philippines doesnt have a race. we all have chinese, malay, pygmy african etc etc.. blood in our vains. i'm a quarter spanish since my mom is half chinese and Spanish but grew up here. i also have japanese and Norse bloodline, but i'm a hundred percent pinoy. to cut it short.. being a filipino is not by blood but by spirit.
if the red is on top then that means it's on war. if it's the blue that's on top, that means it's at peace. if the flag is set upright with the stars and sun on top, it means unity and clarity (like how they set it up in the supreme court). if the blue and red is on top of the sun and the stars, it means justice over the nation (supposedly), but the government didnt acknowledge that setting

One more fact: "Baybayin" is the Philippines old writings. And why it has been erased by Spaniards (Christians) in the Philippines and change it into alphabet? Because it is the closest letters to old manuscripts of the Bible (Google it), the oldest tribe of the Philippines are called Baybayin-on or babayinon (definition= the one who live close to the beaches or beach people) Spaniards doesn't want that fact. So what they did is... if the they catches you practicing or writing baybayin? You will be cursed and be called "aswang" witch or sorcerer.

During Marcos regime Philippines is tiger in economy in ASIA second to Japan and the currency exchange was $1 equals 2 pesos and most people in his regime was disciplined i mean law abiding. Today they called him a dictator but many people around the globe do not know that if he did not declare martial law through the request of the congress, Philippines now is like North Korea a communist nation. For me, I personally give thanks for the late F.E.MARCOS senior for saving our country and we are enjoying freedom of speech and expression. After FEM sr. was ousted Philippines became the poorest country among the poor in ASIA and the Communist Party of the Philippines/cpp-npa-ndf became stronger because Cory Aquino released their leader from prison his name is Joma Sison, In 30 years the liberal party and their cohorts rule our country in chaos no discipline, corruption left and right and they did not support the Military and they flooded our country with illegal drugs like meth and their are many laboratories across the country. But we are blessed now we have President Duterte who is fixing everything in order, I hope and pray that PI will be back in his glory days again. God bless Maharlika/PI!

Actually, we have already conqured the world. I had been to many countries and had lived in 2 others outside the Philippines. There isn't any place where there is no Filipino. We are globetrotters and have taken over the world!!!
BTW Max..as an adopted Filipino, why don't you tell yhour friends to visit the Philippines. The country seems to be always left out by most travel agencies when promoting tours to Asia. Its a pity cause the Philippines has the best beaches on Earth, not to mention gorgeous natural and historical attractions. Of course the people too. I am living in the US now but visited there last summer, went to Vigan, Paoay (took a buggy ride to the sand dunes), and ride the rapids at Pagsanjan falls. I plan to return to the Philippines when I retire.

Filipino Americans don't know what they're saying. If you ask a filipino in the Philippines whether they're asians or pi is a dumb question. It only show you don't know anything about your culture. We were never pacific islanders. We are southeast asians from the very beginning. Only FilAms insist that we are PI.
In fact, before TH-cam existed, the term pacific islander is very foreign to an ordinary filipino. We have always known we are southeast asians.
