Being a Client Adviser in a luxury retail environment is all about the client focus, building a strong lasting relationship with clients and maintaining communication with work phone, as outreach at all times, client is always the captain of the team. Its also very important to have product knowledge and history of brand heritage to start a selling ceremony. Also, having a positive and business owner mindset. I work for GUCCI in NewYork City and I've grown so much.

The 5th Ave store is NOT the place to work if you wanted nice clients. My C.A. Claudia in Manhasset and I love her to pieces and refer plenty of people to her. I did go to NYC just to experience the VIC lounge which was great and I have a C.A. there for limited pieces but 5th Ave has ALOT of personality clashes and expectations. I also worked at Dior while in college down the block and the atmosphere and expectations were unrealistic.
PS I think it sucks LV only pays like $1 commission from canvas sales.

Im interest in becoming a Client Advisor or a greeter! I was wondering how long you worked and do you need to know all the bags/product before starting?

I only worked there for about 5 months. I did some research on my own time, but I really went in knowing nothing, I had an in-depth experience in sales though. They actually did really in-depth training with us the first two weeks. They went over the history and some of the most iconic pieces. The rest I kind of learned over time!
Good luck with your Client Advisor Journey!!!

@@Star___ ic!! Sorry to bombard you with q, but how was the shift? Is it from opening to closing? Whats a greeter? Is client advisor better learning experience than a greeter?

@@hanamisun123 You're fine! the times depend on the location, for my location it was usually 7-9 hour shifts. Not always opening to closing but usually on Sundays yes, because we were only open like 7 hours. A greeter greets the clients coming in through the door and ensures they are able to go to the right person to serve their need (ie. repairs, tailoring, or a client advisor). There is no better postion its just if you are looking for a position in sales, thats what the client-advisor does, client relations and sales.

Usually the wealthier the client, the MORE high maintenance they are, possibly rude, and demanding. They want to be coddled, comforted, and told they’re fabulous. (🤮).
