I agree. You need the contrast to also bring in other seasons. Terracotta is beautiful. Maybe add a removable wall to get your "white wall" look, but then you can return it to the beautiful brick. 😊

I WOULD paint the brick, it will brighten the room, bricks are heavy and dark which I personally don’t like, my opinion. Also remember, words can come across in a negative light when talking about your family, something to think about. Be mindful of how your words come across to your audience.

For sure don't paint the brick! The brick already is very simple and also adds warmth. It feels very Beatrix Potter and old world. With painted brick all of the dust will be so much more visible, it will scuff, it will look dirty over time. Take it from someone who's already been there done that.
My vote is don’t paint the brick. It is beautiful. Also, in kitchen I would have small area for open shelving but keep most of your cabinets. Open and closed and the best in my opinion😁
The brick is beautiful as it is,however, it gives a rustic vibe..so if you want to be consistent to the cottage feel it would be beautiful also ,painted white. It's an easy project but makes a big impact. I painted my brick over my mantelpiece and I love it so much. It really changed the room to feel light and cottage like. But either way it would be nice.😊

NO!!! Dont paint over the brick!!! Also, keep your peppermint separate. That stuff really takes over everything and gets very deep roots. I had to just pull a ton of it out from my other herbs!🌱🌿
