Cellulitis is a common bacterial infection of the skin. It is most commonly causes by streptococcus and staphylococcus strains of bacteria. Cellulitis itself is not life-threatening but if left untreated it can result in life-threatening conditions. Antibiotics, either oral or intravenous, are used to treat cellulitis.
