Been Texas riggin plastic worms since the late 70's. THOUSANDS of bass later... 5'6" med. Action rod (think ugly stick) & 14 lb. mono. Ain't changin now!!
I have discontinued my Bassmaster subscription that I have had over a span of thirty years. I am an avid bass fisherman for nearly forty years and I learned much more from watching Tactical Bass’n than I ever have!
Bass fishing has been a part of my life for many years. Life, kids and obligations took over for a while, but now I’ve got an old Ranger 373V and am getting back into it. Just wanted to say a big thank you for your videos. They are really helping cut the learning curve of “catching up”! Keep up the great content guys!
This channel has been a huge help to me as a recreational angler. I mostly fish out of a kayak or from the bank due to limited funding for a boat being in college. This channel has taught me a lot and has definitely become on of my favorites!
I like that you guys keep it simple for us who are new on bass fishing. I also like that you keep a balance on the videos you post, sometimes they can be very advance (fish finders, boats, kayaks, etc) and sometimes can be very basic like how to tight a knot. Thank you!
Tackle warehouse owes a good chunk of sales to you guys lol, it feels like every time you recommend a bait I check and it’s already sold out in the good colors
Whenever I need a how to use whatever lures, techniques and gear, I always come back to you guys. Your explanations are easy to follow and they work. I always recommend Tactical Bassin to newbies and seasoned bass anglers.
Another tip for beginners, you don't need to use giant hooks. The smaller the hook, the more action you get out of the bait. A bass will always try to eat a big bait HEAD FIRST. Just let the rod load before you swing. My best days worm fishing have been using a 3/0 hook on a 10" worm. The hook may seem small at first but it's plenty long enough.
Marcus Young good tip. Ive never used a 10” worm cuz the bass i catch are usually smallish to normal sized and the hooks that I “think” i should use for a 10” worm look to big for the fish.
@@flapjack622 I've actually lost more bass when worm fishing on larger hooks then when using smaller hooks. The larger the hook, the bigger the hole you'll rip in their mouth, making it easier for then to throw the hook. Little bass will try to eat a big worm as well so it doesn't hurt to try it.
I use 2/0 or 3/0 worm hook for baby brush hogs up to 7" worms. I get to the big boy brush hogs or 10"+ worms I like a 4/0 EWG or a 5/0 Worm hook. Going bigger just gets too much imo.
That’s big facts, in a boat I set the hook on anything and everything that could be a fish cuz you can troll over and unsnagg it every time but the bank is a diff story
Hey Tim these videos are a great learning mode for me getting ready for my first tournament as a co angler here in ohio in April mosquito lake lot of grass studying your videos about swimbaits is a plus looking forward to this so thank you and won't let you down let me know when you got new one
This video is perfect timing! I was just about to give up on my worms with tails.. I fished one last week and was shutout until I accidentally ripped the tail off-then proceeded to catch fish. Tried the tail agin a couple days ago, same result..nothing. Intentionally tore the tail off and started bringing them in the boat. I guess I’ll give them a shot a third time. GREAT tips on the braided line and longer rod for better sensitivity and feel - much appreciated Tim!
Dude, those rod tips help for sure. Been finessing with a 6ft trout and have always complained about about not feeling the bottom enough. Thanks a bunch. Roboworm on a Ned head is lights out too.
The nrx/aldebaran combo is almost otherworldly. I just don’t think you can do any better than that. Forget bottom contact/finesse stuff even. It’s just brilliant all around. Whenever I switch from one of my typical reaction setups to the nrx/aldebaran, I have to stop and appreciate how incredible it feels. I’m slowwllyyy swapping out my non-heavy duty, “no wenching required” setups to nrx with aldebarans or metaniums. They’re expensive but they’re so worth it. There’s a reason you see all the shimano pros with boats full of nrx/metanium combos.
Thanks Tim for showing us the actual bait itself. Again another GREAT episode of TB, keep on doing it like this and SOON to Hit 250k subscribers I prefer the Owner shaky head myself,....the screw heads, light weights and razor sharp hook.👍🎣👌💪
I love the Super T-Mac 9" on a neko rig or on a shakey. I use a 1 1/2" roofing nail for my neko. You must use the #9 size o-ring for it is a thin worm.
When I first get to a lake that I don't know or haven't seen in a while, I'll tie a drop shot about 1.5 foot up and use a ned rig head as the weight. It covers bottom and slightly off bottom. Doubles are always interesting.
I use a nrx 893c for worm fishing and man bites feel like thunderbolts in your arm! Most sensitive rod I’ve ever fished. Nothing else compares! Thanks for the tips. I will be trying shakey head now.
Zoom dead ringer worms are money! One worm I think should be mentioned is Strike King super finesse, that tail stands up nicely! Grande bass has some worms that will stand up too! Thanks Tim Go Cali !
You should come fish tawas lake in Michigan. I fish here all the time and live in tawas, it's not a giant lake but it has lots of pike and bass. Its average depth is around 3 to 4 feet and it has a good amount of weeds. You could also go into the river which has lots of bass in it also, there are some nice holes and good rocky spots.
Sensitive Rods that I like that are cost effective is what I use... Phoenix Feather series.. Love these rods.. $170ea. Powell Endurance rods $120ea. Powell Inferno $100. Also 13 Omen series $100ea. Bass X $100.. These are my favorites...
Three thumbs up, Matt!!(I was deformed at birth) Seriously, just changed-up my summer-game a bit. Thanks. Also, thanks to see Matt's mansion in the background. Nice digs! Hah.
Video looks good with that wide angle. Lens is sharp and i dig the colors. Bummer that it seems to bright at points though. ...and thanks for the worm pointers!
Tuesday feels like months away, I ordered my first two ever NRX rods. I wanted the 852c or s but couldn’t get it, so i got the 853c and 822s SYR. i have an 854c glx and 822s Imx pro DSR all 4 added this spring. Let me warn you all, if you buy the IMX thinking hey it’s still Loomis i’ll save some money. No you will not, because it will just make you want the NRX more. I then got the GLX and i was so impressed i kept thinking how could it be better? I own Exprides and Champion XP and i just sold my Avid X because it’s very similar to my 854 in that it’s a jig and t rig rod. These rods are addicting.
Great advice as usual...If you're on a budget buy Zman Zelastic worms/finesses frogs... Zman can take hits from squeakers all day then the big bites... I like zoom, yum and ...budget-minded; $1/2 more...Zman
Hey I got some high dollar rods, but they have a less combo at Walmart, the orange and green ones. Like 40 bucks and the rod has awesome feel and sensitivity, just as good as a $100.00 falcon. The reel isn't awesome but it works.
Great channel, I have basically used your info and am trying to fish my lake with what I've learned from y'all. My question to you is, my lake is a very shallow body of water. I think the deepest part in the middle is maybe 15-20feet maybe. It used to be a rice field, and the weeds and vegetation are crazy. I'd say it's like 90% weeds in this lake, and they go right up to the surface and out. Basically my question is if I'm trying to fish a Shakey head, a jig, a swim bait anything like that I'm playing in THICK weeds. No matter where I fish. So should that change the way I fish the lake? For example with the worms, I really can't drag a worm along the bottom cause I'll be into weeds almost straight away. Could you do a video or just msg me back about fishing an area that's just all weeds? I feel like sometimes I don't translate what you teach here to when I'm out fishing cause I don't have the option on this particular lake to go deep on rocky points or just deep ledges in general. It's pretty much just a giant weed garden with 5-12ft water.
I am the same way. I love watching these videos and have learned a lot. I also bought a 14ft jon boat and love taking it out when I can. The only problem is pretty much every lake around me is packed with weeds. Some of the techniques I can't really use.

“Do not go into debt over fishing tackle” - Tim
Woops 😆
Anyone can teach techniques but no one does the how/when/why quite like Tactical Bassin! Thanks guys!
Fishing Appalachia with Michael Eggers completely agree
God is good
thats a fact.. took the words right from my mouth... tactical bassin is where its at..everything else is peanuts
Every time I watch these videos I learn something.
I second that!
I have discontinued my Bassmaster subscription that I have had over a span of thirty years. I am an avid bass fisherman for nearly forty years and I learned much more from watching Tactical Bass’n than I ever have!
You got that right. These guys are the shit.
New to bass fishing but these videos have taken my game from 0-100 real quick!! Slamming fish every weekend with my son. Thanks Matt and Tim!
You guys are the MOST informative fisherman in the game.....thanks keep it up

Whenever I need a how to use whatever lures, techniques and gear, I always come back to you guys. Your explanations are easy to follow and they work. I always recommend Tactical Bassin to newbies and seasoned bass anglers.
Perfect timing before I’m going fishing this morning. I’ve got a magnum Shakey head tied on so this was a good refresher. Tight lines guys.
More great info. Thanks to your frog tips I caught a new PB lmb this weekend. 6lbs is pretty darn good for this part of northern mich.
That's sick brotha! Congrats! 🐖🐖🐖
Nice man what parts of northern Mi
I use worms all year long! One of the best lures ever made!
FCP Fishing yep I totally agree. If I had only one bait it’d be a worm.

It's cool to see people catch huge fish but I'd rather see tips to get big fish in my hands. great videos keep em comin
The Zoom Ol Monster is one of my favorites.
Your vlogs are getting better and better Tim. Great and thank you.
This is my first day catching multiple bass from the shore with summer worms! Woo hoo!!!
Hooksets arent free if youre bank fishing and that bite is actually a log or rock 😁
And the rocks sure are biting. They had a big spawn this year.
No lies told 🤣
Bro for real. Can’t tell you how many jigs I’ve lost to a fucking underwater tree top.
That’s big facts, in a boat I set the hook on anything and everything that could be a fish cuz you can troll over and unsnagg it every time but the bank is a diff story
Derek Lane you betcha 😂

Watching this video is getting me pumped for some summer time worm fishin!
Never fails. Every time I watch a TB video I end up at the store dropping cash. Wouldn’t change a thing.
Wooooo! I'm not the only one!
100%. Tim and Matt disclose all the goods!

Thank you for the Vid. Love fishing worms. Been fishing worms for 40+ years. Always learning, learned much from your tips.

Great advise, you're one of the first I've heard talk about this for the summer,, that just got you a subscriber
I love the Super T-Mac 9" on a neko rig or on a shakey. I use a 1 1/2" roofing nail for my neko. You must use the #9 size o-ring for it is a thin worm.
Tim...great stuff especially on the big worm on the Ned....you just validated my my experience so far...Love your page

Always such great information with an amazing explanation. Great job guys keep up the good work. Thank you!
Great video Been using worms since the late 70s. They still kill it.
And the T-Macs are now all sold out... coincidence? I THINK NOT!
Coincidentally enough I went to purchase a few baits they mentioned awhile back and they were also sold out

150 fish in ONE day!?!?!?!?!? I don't catch that many in a season!
Yeah. That's what I was thinking. I don't have a fish finder though.
Crappie maybe
From my experience the pro is right 😎👍
Great video. Thanks for all the tips. What are your thoughts on a senko style bait on a shaky head or pegged Texas rig?
