Hey guys, just wanted to take a moment to thank you. I'm a recovery heroin addict and I've been clean for 7 years. Like most recovering addicts I replaced my unhealthy addiction with something much more positive. For me that thing was bass fishing. Since I first got hooked on fishing I've been watching and learning from you guys. Thank you for all of the knowledge you share. It's brought me some of the most memorable moments of my life.
Wow just seeing this out of the box th-cam.com/users/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.
I’m 20, just learned about the Texas rig last spring... wish I knew about it and was more serious about bass fishing earlier! Thanks for always posting videos to help the community, Tactial Bassin!!
I just wanted to THANK YOU guys! Because you guys have always talked about the Owner Flashy Swimmer, i finally bought one. And this morning i caught my PB with it! 7.4lbs!!! She absolutely CHOKED it! I have learned so much from you guys, and i look forward to keep on growing as an angler. Keep up the great content! (Mesa, Arizona)
My girlfriend caught her pb largemouth on a weightless senko yesterday. It was cool because on the drive out I had told her how one of my spots had been on fire all week. I promised her she would catch one in the first 5 casts, first cast she catches her pb. Watching her fight that fish was priceless.
Nice video Tim. Thanks for battling those mosquitoes for us. I know you could have easily shot that video indoors, but appreciate all you guys go through to get the most out of these instructional videos. Keep up the great work!
Can't thank you enough for the very informative content in your videos. Tim and Matt are hands down the best anglers on you tube! You guys are genuinely trying to help people in a straight forward, eay to understand ,no bullshit manner. The knowledge you two guys possess is immense, and you guys actually share it to all of us. You two are undoubtedly the best bass fishing channel on you tube,or anywhere for that matter. You guys give info that would take someone many years to learn without you two. Much respect and thank you guys very much.
Great video, Tim! All Tactical Bassin videos have great content. It is obvious, you and Matt put a lot of thought and effort into your videos. Both of you have tons of experience and knowledge and it shows. The variety of ways Tactical Bassin employs to communicate with us; Matt videos, Tim videos, videos together; is a huge asset for TB. You and Matt have distinct personalities and presentation styles to go along with all of the knowledge you share with us and that keeps us watching. Of course, your information and instruction is great as always, but your presentation is what I enjoyed the most in this video! "Doing 3 videos a week for ya', suffering through malaria....", say Tim; without even flinching! Lol As most other anglers would, I sympathize with you, brother, and I appreciate your efforts. Thank you!
I think the best part about the tactical team is that they aren't biased by sponsorships which is soo rare these days. The only guys I can trust if I want to know learn about new gear.
Thank u guys for helping me become a better angler I just started taking fishing serious for the past three years and watching this channel has helped me get a lifetimes of information in a short time keep it up
Thanx for braving the skeeters to bring the vid...a different location or bug spray next time. I'm 72 and trying to improve my skills on the water. My wife gave me a low-profile baitcaster for Farter's Day and I'm learning how to use it - a real challenge for an old spincaster like me.
My go to Texas rig is Berkeley power worm 7” blue fleck has caught me monsters. I’m sure most anglers have tried it but if you haven’t it’s a must have.
You guys have made me a much better fisherman and I have been passing the knowledge along to get more people interested in fishing. Could you guys do a Tokyo rig segment would love to see if you recommend it!! Thank you for all your hard work and I watch all of your videos
Reminder for persons just getting started out: Fishing lead weights and tackle may be prohibited by some state Fish and Game Laws. Check your fishing state rules prior to dropping lead into waterways.
@@paulcass3180 And now we have to disinfect the insides of our bodies because the President said that was a good idea to combat the virus. Lead weights have now sunk to the bottom of our concerns.
I've mentioned this before but it applies here aswell. If you have issues with the hook point popping out and snagging when "Texsposing" try burying the point just inside the bottom of the bait instead. The bait will roll off cover more easily but when a fish grabs it the bait rolls out of the way of the hook point and you have less plastic to get through. Tears up baits but it's a solution that can be used when the top is already torn up from skin hooking.
Merthiolate Zoom Trick Worm is the deal. Tungsten is more dense than lead, it doesn't weigh more. :-) Benefit is it's smaller than lead at the same weight and it gives you better feel for stuff on the bottom.
As always great stuff. You always end with you appreciate us. Well it is us fans that appreciate you and all you do for us. Thank you and Thanks for all you do, just cant say it enough.
Great video as always but would love to see you guys do one focused specifically on medium flipping and pitching jigs/t-rigs to shallow cover. That sweet spot in the 1/2 - 3/4oz range that is almost universal, not finesse or heavy cover flipping/punching. I know it's been covered in other videos like buyers guides and general jig fishing vids but I think it's such a bread and butter technique that it deserves one of these super in-depth breakdowns you guys kill it with.
Thanks Tim... really good stuff. What I appreciate about you and Matt is all the dramatic hand gestures..... kidding...haha... Seriously, you guys have a very honest and straightforward approach that departs from some of the "mightier than thou" stuff out there. I like how you can do a video packed with practical information and tips and reasoning, and include both beginners and advanced anglers. I have very few "subscribes" on YT and you guys are one of them. Good work. Also like how you list all the products. Sometimes I cannot catch the name or have any idea how to spell something you are talking about...so very helpful. Good you can make a few bucks off the links too. Have a great season guys...thanks for getting mine off to a good start!
@@tacticalbassin hahaha... I get it! I'm Italian! Actually I think it helps the presentation...someone sitting and talking isn't very visually dynamic....so the sign language adds some action! But you should have been slapping the skitos too....that would have been funny.

ManBearPig was probably my #1 producer last year. It's just killer. I actually pitch it to shallow areas weightless and they just get nailed when bass are hugging the banks of ponds. Bounce them off logs etc.
Love the Texas rig. I don’t throw a worm in mine enough. Thanks for all the info. You’re right super universal rig. New sub. Look forward to watching more of your vids.
Would love to see underwater footage of all the plastic-style set-ups and how they function. You guys can do it! Texas, Carolina, Drop-shot, Peg, don't peg, Commando, etc.
I love that new owner jungle wide gap for my heavy wire hooks. And for the regular wire hooks I like the gamakatsu hybrid worm hooks for casting applications. For pitching and punching I have almost every brand and size of straight shank hooks made. Different brands for certain baits better. Gammi makes a sick g finesse straight shank with a metal keeper, sealed and sealed eye. Perfect for finesse flipping with flouro ( snelled)
Thank you for this information now am ready to give these’s type of baits more confidence in my fishing tackle Arsenal you answered all my questions on this topic thank you so much.
Great video. I’m having a blast using the other T-rig 🇯🇵 right now. Can’t wait for you guys to do a video on that. Actually...hold off another year or so on that video. 🤫Thanks!
Hey guys, been watching your channel for a while now and I'm a little surprised that I've heard no mentions of the Gary Yamamoto Flappin' Hog. I've had nothing but success with them in clear to post flooded waters.

All jokes aside, thanks so much for what you do, your service as well as your channel content. We are still waiting for the walleye to bite in Vermont but I'll gladly stock up on info for when the bass start biting
Great vid! Would you recommend, or even use, something like a Havoc Pit Boss for regular Texas rig fishing? Not punching. I fish from the bank a lot so heavy punching cover isn't really something encounter.
I am certainly not Tim or Matt, or even close in skill and knowledge but I do have an answer to share with you from my experience with the Pit Boss. I am also primarily a bank angler at this time and I wondered the same thing for the same reasons so I gave it a try last year. I pitched a Pit Pit Boss under some vegetation on the edge of a bank that dropped off sharply down to about 6 feet , let it sit for about 15 seconds, wiggled it a couple time and started sweeping my rod back to drag the bait across the bottom.......bam! A Largemouth slammed it! Pulled a nice chunk in. I have also had good success dragging and shaking this rig in fallen trees in the water and along boat ramps. It works great for me! I always peg the weight but that isn't saying you must peg it. I just like throwing this rig in some nasty stuff along the bank, pegging the weight and texposing the hook makes it hang up less when I drag it through stuff. This works for me. Sorry for writing a book on this subject on your comment. Lol I hope this is helpful for you. Tight lines!
Pit Bosses are great, it's one of my go to heavy flipping lures. I don't bank fish a lot now, but the way I use pit bosses is a pegged t-rig with a 1oz tungsten. It's not because my cover dictates that, it's because I'm looking for a reaction bite out of finicky summer fish.

Hi Tim! , I have a real question that I believe no one has ever asked. I live in the bass fishing and world record kingdom of the world, Tennessee and Kentucky to be exact. Most people fish shallow for largemouth. I fish 100 feet deep and deeper for them. Big mamas down there. Ok, here is my question? If you was vertical jigging, heavy flipping, cost means nothing to me, what rod , reel, and line set up would you use to get these fish up and out of the mess that they are in. Thanks, Oz!
Tim, as I was watching you battle the 'skeeters, and remembering my own occasions in the same situation, I could only think "Tim, bless yo' heart!" Suffering through malaria?!? LOL!!!
I use the I think it's a 1/16th or a 1/8oz with a 2/0 for 7.5 inch ribbon tails 10lb braid 12lb mono/fluoro leader on a medium moderate 7ft spinning rod and a 3000 size reel. The 2/0 ewg worm hook is a fine wire hook so makes setting hook super easy. And worms are green pumpkin or watermelon red flake. Only 2 colors I use and for confidence. I use the ozark trail(walmart) ribbon tails and I feel because they are a thinner profile that for finnesse fishing it's a little more easier to use.
Would honestly like to see your guys opinions of the googan baits. I’ve come to like the trench hawg and bandito bug. They got a lot of hype and it kinda made me skeptical, but they’ve proven to be great baits, especially those two, imo.
