Yeah lol, the oldest entry on any known Scandinavian family tree was Bluetooth's grandfather and the kings usually had a lot of surviving children, so by this point almost everyone with Scandinavian or French blood (due to a family of 7 French children in the middle ages who started doing the genealogy) can trace their family history to that bloodline if there are enough written church records.
Wulfharth is pretty much confirmed, since he is referred to as a dragonborn sometimes and the overwhelming evidence would suggest he is even if it's not official, so yeah, Wulfharth is almost certainly dragonborn. Mankar Camoran is a special case, but that he wore the amulet that can only be worn by dragonborns is pretty hard evidence. The nerevarine is VERY unlikely, those arguments don't even seem like arguments. I see no reason to believe he'd be dragonborn.

Mankar Camoran was, as my own personal theory calls him, 'Dagon-born' that is to say, a mockery of the Dragonborn. His abilities and seemingly being a proper Dragonborn is just a cruel mockery of the Divines and the Thu'um. He could not truly shout, merely cast fire or other powerful spells with his speech, but they were not the Aedric-granted power of Shouting. That said, it was enough of a facsimile, a trick, and/or something was done to the Amulet of Kings to trick it into believing Camoran was a proper Dragonborn, hence why he could wear it. I have no real evidence to support my theory, but the Daedra cannot truly create, only make a mockery of Aedric-born works, and I don't think it'd be beyond Dagon's ability to make a mockery of Akatosh's precious 'Dragonborn Kings'.
Dragon borns aren't inherently good they can choose an evil path if they want, look at the protagonist of skyrim for example you can be an hero of virtue or the leader of an assasin cult that murders for money and the thiefs guild that takes people's livelihood from them. Look at Miraak for another example of an evil dragon born and if all Septim are indeed dragon borns Potema Septim the wolf queen was an evil necromancer, and with Miraak we can see that a dragon born can become a daedra servants, Miraak became a servant to Hermaeus Mora just as Mankar Camora became a Dagon servant. Even the last dragon born can become the campion of almost every daedra.
*I* believe and this is me just thinking loud here, that all Septims were dragonborn but could not access their power due to the lack of dragons. Think about it, in Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim you've lived your whole life a normal person but when you killed a dragon and absorbed it's soul, your powers awoke and you were revealed to be dragonborn. But the Septims could not access their power because there was no dragons to slay.
You don't need Dragons or the grey beards to learn shouts as a dragonborn. Only need to know the word and meditate on it after a while you'll be able to shout. In game the grey beards literally give you their knowledge of the word so you can use it immediately. No souls needed. So if someone is dragonborn they'll be able to learn words and shout after only a few days to a week. Even non-dragonborn ancient nords learned to shout by being shouted at by dragons over and over again as their slaves.
Problem with that is that his kin didn't know much about dragonborn. They were probably richy kids who only cared for glory of battle and getting drunk. Also they would have had to travel to Skyrim which wouldn't have been well since I'm sure nords wouldn't be so kind to imperial people entering their territory. We're also talking 40+ years ago in TES storyline. Also them having to speak to the greybreads back then I don't believe they would be as willing. Their just heirs of the bloodline.
Just an interesting side note: An aspect of Talos named Wulf appears to the Nerevarine before he takes on Dagoth Ur and and gives him a blessed coin that fortifies luck.

well the dragonborn learns the dragonrend shout after seeing it just once as well a the call champion shout and the call odahviing in addition shouts are in the very end a form of magic, something he was veeeery skilled at.
nathan elston Except the last dragon born learns dragon rend from other humans, since it's a man-made shout (with the help of Kyne and Parthuurnax) whilst Wulftharth likely heard a shout used by Alduin (or shor) which obviously can't be dragon-rend because it is impossible for literal dragons to learn it
To put it simply; Dragonrend requires the ability to fully understand mortality. Dragons aren't bound to mortality, and as such can't understand it enough to use it as a shout. Since Dragonborn are bound to mortality (or at least, have been mortal in the case of vampire Dragonborn) they understand mortality already. They can learn Dragonrend without being taught or using dragon souls because if you're mortal, you understand mortality innately.
Dragonrend would probably be the easiest shout to teach to people as well, since they don't need to spend a decade meditating to fully understand the words. That's probably a part of why the greybeards are so against learning it; the way of the voice is peaceful, but Dragonrend exists only for fighting. It being easy to learn would mean that, unless knowledge of it was suppressed until it died out, the vast majority of the population would know it. Since it stands in opposition to the founding beliefs of their order, and their order mostly survives on being known as wise and powerful, Dragonrend getting out would probably be very bad for the greybeards.

However, as I said, it would likely be a very easy shout to learn, and the Tongues who created it didn't seem the sort to stand against it- the Nords had just won a war against dragons, but not killed all of them. They likely would have wanted their people well armed in case of attack. And the Nords value the voice highly, so even once the dragons were gone they probably would have kept handing down the shout that their ancestors used to throw off the yoke of the dragons. Yet Dragonrend is extinct- so much so that you have to look back in time to learn it from its creators. I offer a solution to this quandary; in the decades after the establishment of the way of the voice, the greybeards of the time worked patiently to destroy all knowledge of Dragonrend, to hide the idea that the voice could be used in a way intrinsically counter to their Way.
For the next mystery you investigate, can you try to theorize, who ordered each of the Dark Brotherhood killings in all the Elder Scrolls games(why just Skyrim?). I've only played Skyrim but an example is someone like Narfi, there's the theory the barkeep there in Ivarsted had him killed because the barkeep murdered Narfi's sister, and wanted to get rid of Narfi too to shut him up.
I think its Maven-Black Briar. I sneaked into maven's manor ( right next to the temple of mara in Riften ) after that I went into the basement. There is a door locked with a master level lock, after unlocking that door you can see that maven has performed the black sacrament and there is a letter to Astrid there which asks her why she hasn't killed someone yet. I feel like she was the one who asked Astrid to kill the Dragonborn.

A good thing I should point out you don't see Wulfarth in Sovengarde so he could very well be a dragon born or at least a Shezzarine as no dragon born or Shezzarine are in Sovengarde as well the Dovakiin is a Shezzarine so yeah it is possible. And Wulfarth being a Shezzarine could mean that when Shor brings him back it could just be Shor arriving in as a mortal or a Shezzarine

You're not entirely wrong, but the last dragonborn has the soul of a dragon so his essence is immortal. However his body isn't immortal, since he was born into the body of a mortal. When the last dragonborn breathes his last he will probably be floating somewhere or be claimed by someone. As for Miraak, the only reason he survived is because he was taken in by Hermaeus Mora. Mora probably kept him alive, since he's basically a god in his realm or because time works different in Apocrypha.

In sense they're. Their flesh is not immortal but there soul is, thus bridge between immortality. it's pretty apparent that upon death dragonborn soul can claimed by another dragon or dragonborn, just as we did with Miraak.

Without The Amulet of Kings it would seem to me that it's virtually impossible to determine who is a Dragonborn with 100% certainty. Since only A Dragonborn can use the amulet.
Dragonborns That wears an amulet are descendants of True Dragonborn(Tiber septim in this case) - only one who can absorb dragon-soul and has Dragon soul themselves are DBs, placed by akatos, not every child born by DB suppose to have Dragon soul. Wearing amulet only proves they have blood of a dragonborn not a Dragonsoul so not actually a dragonborn.
I have a character that I use to play as a normal adventurer. I ignore the main story and avoid using magic or shouts. I just wander the countryside, looking for trouble to get into. It's pretty challenging and fun.
Also when Paarthurnaax first greets you(in the way of the Dov) he has you greet him with the Fire Breath shout, which to me says that it’s sort of a default word of power in the dragon language.

They have the Blades at their back, just like the Septims (If you killed Paarthurnax). Not anymore no. The Dragonfires are obsolete now and are not needed to be lit by a Dragonborn emperor due to Martin Septim sacrificing himself. TLDB has no right to the throne. The only scenario I can see him becoming Emperor is if he rode to Cyrodiil on Durniviirs back with a Legion of Dragons at his command and decimated most of the Thalmors and Dominions army forcing them to retreat or die. A show of strength like that would definitely gain him some followers and people calling for him to be crowned Emperor
Stop Breathing the dragon fires may be obsolete but the sigil of the empire itself proves the last dragonborn is the true emperor. The empires sigil, The symbol of the dragonborn, was used due to the fact that the line of emperors were dragonborn or of the dragon blood
there are two types of dragon born... you have gotten them confused. dragon blood is the bloodline dragon born or dovaken is the dragon born we see in skyrim.

The Greybeards also say that the dragonblood is strong in you so maybe in some people like mancacamoran the dragonblood wasn't that strong so it took him 3 days to learn a shout which is still a very short time compared to the intense training needed to learn it for a normal person
I like the idea that Mankar Camoran is a Dragonborn because this draws a cool parallel to Miraak because they are both Dragonborns in service to their own respective Daedric Princes.

Maybe all the player characters are DovahKin, after all they crop up whenever the world is in danger and no matter how evil you choose to play you kinda still have to save the world. This is reminiscent of the prophecy concerning the Once and Future King Arthur Pendragon, of whom several references are made in Skyrim. The fact the emperor lineages contain dragonborns and the fact that Pendragon means dragon head (where the tongue is) would suggest a similar case is occuring here, YOU ARE THE DOVAHKIN reborn when needed
corruption on the spell so the leader of the mythic dawn is the only one who can wear it hence why he's able to wear it (no way he just went i've carefully planned all this but let's just bet on me being able to wear an anvieent amulet)
So i just want to bring up something that crossed my mind. When you speak to the greybeards you find ou that only a small handful of mortals that have dragon blood can speak normally without their thuum always being the outcome of speech. The other beards sit in silence because of this and only wisper the phase they wish to teach you because of said power. If Wolfgar couldn't speak because he would always speak thuum then this (at least i think) makes him a human that can speak the thuum, not dragonborn. Anyone have something to say otherwise because im confused rn. Also ik Ulfric can shout but i think he has dragon blood in him somehow so he has a small ability in this regard.
But how can Hjalti/Wulfhart/Talos be dragonborn (something Akatosh related) AND a shezzarine at the same time? Aren't Lorkhan and Akatosh/Auri-el opposites? And also, it confuses me how the Arcturian Heresy mentions Wulfhart as Underking, i thought Zurin Arctus was the Underking, not Wulfhart
I'm very late to this video but I have to say my piece. I am certain that Wulfharth was not Dragonborn for one very specific reason, and that is the reference to him being unable to speak his vows as High King. Dragons, and therefore Dragonborn, have full control of their Thuum and their shouts. If he was dragonborn and didn't want to do damage by shouting, he would not. Remember, the Greybeards are mostly unable to speak due to their power, and they are not dragonborn. The idea that a dragonborn would run into a similar problem is not even touched upon, because it is not an issue for those with dragon souls. The reason I say this with such confidence is that Paarthurnax is able to save the words of confirmed shouts without actually 'Shouting' them. A Dragonborn would have the same ability to control the Thuum. If Wuulfharth cannot control it that way, he is NOT dragonborn.
I would love to see a video about the towers of nirn. Like the brass Tower, the Stone Tower, the white gold Tower, the Crystal Tower, so on and so forth and how they interrelate into the main quest of the Elder Scrolls.
I agree with you, because I only heard of the last one! In my defense I can say that I only have a few hundred hours of Skyrim under my belt and unfortunately no other Elder Scroll games played, but I love the Lore behind every , race, item or location. Keep up the good work !
An incarnation of Wulfharth appears in Morrowind in Ghostgate (name Wulf). He gives the Nerevarine a coin which permanently increases their luck, asking them to carry it with them in their final assault on Dagoth Ur, essentially bring "Wulf" with them in spirit since he confesses his days of adventuring himself are over and ways need to be left for new heroes to change the world. After this encounter, he disappears from the game. You can describe the encounter to a priest of the Nine you meet near the same spot, who will tell you that "Wulf" was an aspect of Talos, which is also true, though too complicated to get into . . .
Btw Ulfric didn’t use it for his personal gain, he challenged the emperor to combat and used the voice, because he was trained to have it. To blame him for using it is like blaming someone for using Fus Ro Dah on a bandit. Also, IM NOT TRYING TO START A FLAME WAR, I’m just stating facts.

Camoran wears the amulet of Kings because he is in his own, controlled dimension. He was extremely gifted in magic, which could explain his “fire breath.” I think that perhaps he may have learned to use the same sort of magic that the late yokudans used. The yokudans weren’t Dragonborn, but they used the same technique as the dwemer’s tonal architecture to create weapons, or in a Dragonborn’ case, manifest elemental power.

Well according to zaric, if I understood him correctly, Wulfarth is the Pre history change Talos, who is responsible for some of the feats attributed to Tiber Septim and Zuran Arctis who are responsible for Talos' deeds. He is also the underking and the may also be the power source of the numidium.

Small nitpick, but Dagoth Ur was only known as such until after the Battle at Red Mountain. He was known by his birth name, Voryn Dagoth, when he supposedly betrayed the Chimer and involved the Nords in the War of the First Council.

Look at Miraak for another example of an evil dragon born and if all Septim are indeed dragon borns Potema Septim the wolf queen was an evil necromancer, and with Miraak we can see that a dragon born can become a daedra servants, Miraak became a servant to Hermaeus Mora just as Mankar Camora became a Dagon servant. Even the last dragon born can become the campion of almost every daedra.

Think about it, in Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim you've lived your whole life a normal person but when you killed a dragon and absorbed it's soul, your powers awoke and you were revealed to be dragonborn.

But they could visit the walls that held words of power, learn them, and have the grey beards help unlock it
You don't need Dragons or the grey beards to learn shouts as a dragonborn. Only need to know the word and meditate on it after a while you'll be able to shout. In game the grey beards literally give you their knowledge of the word so you can use it immediately. No souls needed. So if someone is dragonborn they'll be able to learn words and shout after only a few days to a week. Even non-dragonborn ancient nords learned to shout by being shouted at by dragons over and over again as their slaves.
Problem with that is that his kin didn't know much about dragonborn. They were probably richy kids who only cared for glory of battle and getting drunk. Also they would have had to travel to Skyrim which wouldn't have been well since I'm sure nords wouldn't be so kind to imperial people entering their territory. We're also talking 40+ years ago in TES storyline. Also them having to speak to the greybreads back then I don't believe they would be as willing. Their just heirs of the bloodline.

nathan elston Except the last dragon born learns dragon rend from other humans, since it's a man-made shout (with the help of Kyne and Parthuurnax) whilst Wulftharth likely heard a shout used by Alduin (or shor) which obviously can't be dragon-rend because it is impossible for literal dragons to learn it
To put it simply; Dragonrend requires the ability to fully understand mortality. Dragons aren't bound to mortality, and as such can't understand it enough to use it as a shout. Since Dragonborn are bound to mortality (or at least, have been mortal in the case of vampire Dragonborn) they understand mortality already. They can learn Dragonrend without being taught or using dragon souls because if you're mortal, you understand mortality innately.
Dragonrend would probably be the easiest shout to teach to people as well, since they don't need to spend a decade meditating to fully understand the words. That's probably a part of why the greybeards are so against learning it; the way of the voice is peaceful, but Dragonrend exists only for fighting. It being easy to learn would mean that, unless knowledge of it was suppressed until it died out, the vast majority of the population would know it.
Since it stands in opposition to the founding beliefs of their order, and their order mostly survives on being known as wise and powerful, Dragonrend getting out would probably be very bad for the greybeards.

And the Nords value the voice highly, so even once the dragons were gone they probably would have kept handing down the shout that their ancestors used to throw off the yoke of the dragons.
Yet Dragonrend is extinct- so much so that you have to look back in time to learn it from its creators. I offer a solution to this quandary; in the decades after the establishment of the way of the voice, the greybeards of the time worked patiently to destroy all knowledge of Dragonrend, to hide the idea that the voice could be used in a way intrinsically counter to their Way.
For the next mystery you investigate, can you try to theorize, who ordered each of the Dark Brotherhood killings in all the Elder Scrolls games(why just Skyrim?). I've only played Skyrim but an example is someone like Narfi, there's the theory the barkeep there in Ivarsted had him killed because the barkeep murdered Narfi's sister, and wanted to get rid of Narfi too to shut him up.

You're not entirely wrong, but the last dragonborn has the soul of a dragon so his essence is immortal. However his body isn't immortal, since he was born into the body of a mortal. When the last dragonborn breathes his last he will probably be floating somewhere or be claimed by someone. As for Miraak, the only reason he survived is because he was taken in by Hermaeus Mora. Mora probably kept him alive, since he's basically a god in his realm or because time works different in Apocrypha.

In sense they're. Their flesh is not immortal but there soul is, thus bridge between immortality. it's pretty apparent that upon death dragonborn soul can claimed by another dragon or dragonborn, just as we did with Miraak.

Not anymore no. The Dragonfires are obsolete now and are not needed to be lit by a Dragonborn emperor due to Martin Septim sacrificing himself. TLDB has no right to the throne. The only scenario I can see him becoming Emperor is if he rode to Cyrodiil on Durniviirs back with a Legion of Dragons at his command and decimated most of the Thalmors and Dominions army forcing them to retreat or die. A show of strength like that would definitely gain him some followers and people calling for him to be crowned Emperor

The Greybeards also say that the dragonblood is strong in you so maybe in some people like mancacamoran the dragonblood wasn't that strong so it took him 3 days to learn a shout which is still a very short time compared to the intense training needed to learn it for a normal person

Maybe all the player characters are DovahKin, after all they crop up whenever the world is in danger and no matter how evil you choose to play you kinda still have to save the world. This is reminiscent of the prophecy concerning the Once and Future King Arthur Pendragon, of whom several references are made in Skyrim. The fact the emperor lineages contain dragonborns and the fact that Pendragon means dragon head (where the tongue is) would suggest a similar case is occuring here, YOU ARE THE DOVAHKIN reborn when needed

So i just want to bring up something that crossed my mind. When you speak to the greybeards you find ou that only a small handful of mortals that have dragon blood can speak normally without their thuum always being the outcome of speech. The other beards sit in silence because of this and only wisper the phase they wish to teach you because of said power. If Wolfgar couldn't speak because he would always speak thuum then this (at least i think) makes him a human that can speak the thuum, not dragonborn. Anyone have something to say otherwise because im confused rn. Also ik Ulfric can shout but i think he has dragon blood in him somehow so he has a small ability in this regard.

I'm very late to this video but I have to say my piece. I am certain that Wulfharth was not Dragonborn for one very specific reason, and that is the reference to him being unable to speak his vows as High King.
Dragons, and therefore Dragonborn, have full control of their Thuum and their shouts. If he was dragonborn and didn't want to do damage by shouting, he would not. Remember, the Greybeards are mostly unable to speak due to their power, and they are not dragonborn. The idea that a dragonborn would run into a similar problem is not even touched upon, because it is not an issue for those with dragon souls.
The reason I say this with such confidence is that Paarthurnax is able to save the words of confirmed shouts without actually 'Shouting' them. A Dragonborn would have the same ability to control the Thuum. If Wuulfharth cannot control it that way, he is NOT dragonborn.

He gives the Nerevarine a coin which permanently increases their luck, asking them to carry it with them in their final assault on Dagoth Ur, essentially bring "Wulf" with them in spirit since he confesses his days of adventuring himself are over and ways need to be left for new heroes to change the world. After this encounter, he disappears from the game. You can describe the encounter to a priest of the Nine you meet near the same spot, who will tell you that "Wulf" was an aspect of Talos, which is also true, though too complicated to get into . . .

Camoran wears the amulet of Kings because he is in his own, controlled dimension. He was extremely gifted in magic, which could explain his “fire breath.” I think that perhaps he may have learned to use the same sort of magic that the late yokudans used. The yokudans weren’t Dragonborn, but they used the same technique as the dwemer’s tonal architecture to create weapons, or in a Dragonborn’ case, manifest elemental power.

Well according to zaric, if I understood him correctly, Wulfarth is the Pre history change Talos, who is responsible for some of the feats attributed to Tiber Septim and Zuran Arctis who are responsible for Talos' deeds. He is also the underking and the may also be the power source of the numidium.
