This exact line of thought is why that lore reason for no flying is actually pretty weak. Since when does anyone follow the laws? There is a guild for murder. There is a guild for theft. So many people either openly or secretly worship Talos. Like there is a lot of content based around rule breaking, it makes no since that everyone just casually follows the no flying rule.
Yeah, the "levitation act" is absolutely retarded. Necromancy is illegal too - doesn't stop seemingly countless people from engaging in it. The Telvanni could not have given any less of a shit about some toothless decree by the White-Gold Tower.
Dragons would give those guards from Oblivion a heart attack. I can see dozens of them chasing after one dragon shouting "Stop! You're breaking the law!!!"
Morrowind has many secrets and a few questions some of Elder Scrolls history, like what really happened to the Dwemer. If you explore Morrowind and do some searching and reading, you learn that many groups and many people believe many ideas of what happened to the Dwemer during the battle of Red Mountain. You also learn that the Nerevarine was murdered. By whom? If you play the DLC Tribunal, it gives a hint or who did it. Note, it also suggests Vivec lied about the History of Red Mountain. As for Dwemer, some of the theories you may discover, Dwemer didn't die they merged into another group, they removed themselves from our time=line, they removed us from the original time like, they were wiped out by the Tribunal, or they never left and History of the Battle of Red Mountain was a possible hoax as told by Vivec (One group, who claimed to be there says it didn't happen that way). That's just one, Morrowind has many secrets and some of those have secrets to that secret.

Hey Nate! Hope you see this, really love your videos! Yours and FudgeMuppets have really kept me in the game for the past 7 years. Anyway, the reason Solstheim moved was because of the fight between Vahlok the Jailor and Miirak. Legend specifically states that their battle split the island from the main continent of Tamriel from their sheer power. So that’s why Solstheim is no longer a part of Skyrim
I know a well-kept secret. How long can my mother in law keep ignoring that my wife doesn't want to leave me? It's been 24 years, Karen! It ain't gonna happen
Please never stop making these! They're super useful. I like the mood of the video is to just relax and grab a bottle of (insert drink here), lol and the outro just compliments the whole thing too
When Miraak and Vahlok battled, their battle was so fierce and intense that the very ground ripped and teared resulting in the formation of the island. Perhaps the same forces are still acting upon it thanks to one of the laws of motion. An object will continue in a direction unless another force acts against it. I believe that the island is actually floating in a way. The island could be it's own tectonic plate. Since the battle was so powerful, nothing as of now can stop the island in its tracks, (except maybe the dragonborn or super magic) just slow it down until one day it no longer moves. I didn't explain that as well as I wanted but that is my theory. The island was pushed by Miraak and Vahlok's battle, the island became it's own tectonic plate and is floating on the molten core, drifting ever further thanks to papa Newton.
Person A says "Nords"... Person B says "Skyrim" - Maybe he just ASSUMED it was Skyrim attacking, not the Skaal, without asking who Person A actually meant.

Too lazy to look through your videos to find if you've done it before, but... there's a small quest to bring a book from an author, Adonato Leotelli, in Windhelm, to a member of the Bard's College in Solitude. It's a drama he had been writing for a while called "Olaf and the Dragon," that he had been unable to deliver due to road conditions and the war. The item you're given is simply called "Adonato's Book." Upon renting a room in the Winking Skeever in Solitude, you can actually find a published copy of this very drama... even immediately after the story is turned in to the College.
Once again, far too lazy to skim through the videos... As part of the Thieves' Guild questline, you're instructed to investigate Goldenglow Estate, which is responsible for much of the honey brought in for Black-Briar Meadery. The note that you find in Aringoth's safe, as part of the quest's objective list, reads off a name, "Gulum-Ei," and is headed by a curious, unknown symbol to mark the author. (This Argonian, who has been known to assist the Thieves' Guild in payment cuts from what he takes from the East Empire Company's shipments, can be met in the Winking Skeever in Solitude.) In the very next quest, in which you are tasked to shut down Honningbrew Meadery for Maven Black-Briar, the same symbol appears on another business letter. Upon completion of this quest, you're told to speak to Mercer. He points out that the first note reads off "Gajul-Lei" and that the real name of this character is "Gulum-Ei." However, that note doesn't read off Gajul-Lei at all... in fact, the only other time that name comes up is when you're interrogating Gulum-Ei in Solitude, and you use the name to point out his relationship with Goldenglow Estate. Maybe I just overlooked it, but I'm VERY sure that this first note said "Gulum-Ei" and not "Gajul-Lei" - you're more than welcome to fact check.
Here's a detail I bet most people have missed. Did you know that the guy who voices Miraak in the Dragonborn DLC also voiced Paladin Danse in Fallout 4?
3:50 you may not hear that out of the counsels mouth, but you do get to hear it out of vendils mouth though after killing him in the 'served cold' quest actually

Nate! Thank you for all the Skyrim lore!!! And that lovely phrase "murdered to death"! After hundreds of hours, I'm still wandering through Skyrim...wouldn't another expansion DLC rock?!
Regarding “Skyrim’s always involved in some border dispute,” it still makes sense if it’s the Skaal Nords. It would just mean that the dispute is between Skyrim and the Skaal, since Solstheim is part of Skyrim
Im more amazed at the fact that despite that one guy being a Dark Elf, his skin isn't actually dark. Perhaps the only one of his kind left untouched after what the gods did to them after the battle at Red Mountain. Surely THAT should be number one on this list? That you get to meet the ONLY untainted "dark elf" left?
I will always miss levitation in later ES games. Just walking across the map in the air in Morrowind was so much easier than finding my way on the ground or "taking the bus"
What Elder Scrolls Skyrim did for the franchise as a whole. Is the same as what Elder Scrolls Morrowind did. It not only helped make the franchise bigger and better with the fanbase, But also put a spot light on previous Elder Scrolls games. It also changed how we played video games everywhere.
For the map part of Solstheim, there's another possibility that could explain why it's in a different place. I was thinking that perhaps cartography has changed since ESO and the mapmaking wasn't as accurate as it is in Skyrim.
It’s possible (probable) that the world of the Elder Scrolls has tectonic plates. (They also have volcanos, showing that they have a molten mantle, even more evidence of tectonic plates, and the location of Red Mountain shows that a major break in the plates is nearby.) Tectonic plates are almost required for a planet to hold life as moving metals in the core of the planet create a protective magnetic barrier from radioactive waves from a nearby sun. An end result of that is that the surface gets moved, cracked, broken, and tectonic plates form. As those plates move, continents, islands, and oceans move with them. If Solstheim is on a different plate than the rest of the continent, that would easily explain it moving over thousands and thousands of years.
You know, about your Solstheim one about the nords, I think more is mentioned in Oblivion by Neville the Redguard from the Mystery Murder quest on the Dark Brotherhood. And it’s also mentioned by Nels the Naughty during the same quest, hinting the local Nords and Imperials themselves are at War. We also see that Neville and Nels are both very hostile towards one another for that reason as well. I recently played through Oblivion again and caught that detail, so it may be an oversight on Bethesda’s part of who was involved in that war. Edit: Oh you do mention the difference between the Nords and Skaal, lol I hadn’t seen that yet. However it’s still a notable dialogue I brought up, as Nels and Neville were both in Solstheim during the fighting and getting PTSD from the other, Nels having watched his Dark Elf daughter die by vagabonds despite an Imperial fort being close by, and Neville having fought Nord locals who were revolting. Great video! Always happy to watch!
Hey epic nate, it wasnt skyrim nords that wanted to take over solstheim, it was the skaal. During the late-Third Era, the Skaal disapproved of Fort Frostmoth, the Imperial Fort on the isle. When Captain Falx Carius was captured due to Hircine's Hunt, the Legionnaires at Fort Frostmoth suspected the Skaal knew more, as werewolves were involved in the capture of the Captain. When the Nerevarine arrived at the Skaal Village, Tharsten Heart-Fang, the leader of the Skaal, assured him that the Skaal were not involved.

I would not bother you about this, but it happens consistently on your latest videos but not on any other channel. I never experienced this in the past. Did you start doing anything differently in the last few months?
I would blame my device, but yours is the only channel that requires me to lower the resolution. Most others play at 1080p or 720p just fine, but yours play for a few seconds then stay stuck and won’t play. This never happened before.
I am not complaining, just trying to solve the mystery so I can enjoy your videos in all their full resolution glory. Your voice, sense of humor, editing skills, and attention to detail all make your videos top-notch productions. Please keep up the good work! Thank you very much!
I have same problem
@@ItsMrConnor -- I'm glad I'm not the only one, but sorry to hear that you are having the same problem. I would blame my iPad (the 9.7-inch iPad Pro) or the TH-cam app, but so far I don't have this problem on any other channel. My Windows PC and MacBook both seem to play the same videos without any problem. I would like to solve the mystery so I can enjoy Nate's epic videos in all their glorious full resolution!
Ever watch this expecting to find something new then realizing you’re a Skyrim veteran and know all of this
Love you Nate 😉
Hey Nate, guys here and we want to tell you that you are doing a great job.

"I join you in death, father" is said by the main villain of the Served Cold quest once you kill him.
Imagine a movie titled " 300 COMPANIONS " where you see Ysgramor and his sons conquer skyrim. That would be cool.

Love your voice dude. You should read some elder scrolls books! You’d make some great audio books
I thought you were asking Nate to read an elder scroll.
@@goldenknight578 Too much power for Nate.
@@lunagoofymilkplace4779 nay nate is a god of knowledge an elder scroll is child's play
You can levitate with a spell called tcl
I've found that a giant with a really large club works, too.
It’s pronounced LSD
pretty sure it's called TLC bud or THC incase you're talking about the crazy stuff.
“Hey guys, it’s Hermaeus Mora here!”
Please never stop making these! They're super useful. I like the mood of the video is to just relax and grab a bottle of (insert drink here), lol and the outro just compliments the whole thing too
Solsteim’s moving, by the Nine.

the way u say " the elder scrolls 5, skyrim " cracks me up every time XD
Vendil also says “I join you in death, Father” during the Served Cold quest.
I love this channel, I’ve learned so much!
You should do videos on lore. Like the different pantheons of Tamriel
I stopped watching the video before this to come and watch this one😂
Amazing these videos still come out i doscovered your series a while ago watching all the contetn wich inspired me to pick skyrim up again after a long time. Thanks mate
Surprised you didn't mention the Thieves' Guild easter egg with Delvin's brother and [SPOILERS!!] Sapphire's father. That was such a fun secret to discover :]
Also, that pronunciation of "Beauchamp", I- 😳
The Ulen guy says the same thing about the father as Morvayn when you kill him. Wonder if someone was floating the option where you side the Ulens so they had similar dialogue for both.

Lil' tip: "Beauchamp" is pronounced "Bochant" (like in chanting, and without the -t sound).
Quite literally means pretty field.
It can also be anglicised to Beecham
Correct that is my last name
Its French
@@themightyculsh Like 25% of the British language, it derives from a mispronounced French word:
- pedestal/piédestal
- eiderdown/édredon
- style/style (yes it's french)
- marmelade/ (ce qu'on donne quand) Marie est malade
Well the word down is norse in origin so eiderdowns not entirely French
It would be cool if miraak’s robes were renamed to “Dragonborn robes” so that the player could go to miraak and show they were a fully realized dovahkiin. When unlocking the robes, it’s renamed to “*insert player name*’s Dragonborn robes”.
that ESO map isn't completely true, the map that came wit the "Imperial" edition (I think that was what it was called.) it has it where we see it in the modern maps.
#2 could be an early reference to an already in development Skyrim, more specifically to the Civil War questline
How long is this series, like season 5 or something?
How long?
Yes.
Morvayn might have been flagged as essential, but the "I join you in death, father" line was still used. When you kill Vendil Severin, he says the line.
Ok so I’ve been sitting here for 5 minutes on thinking of what to comment but I can’t come up with one so am just going to say

This is exactly what i need before going to bed. Your smooth relaxing voice bestowing me with skyrim facts. And all this even though i havent actually played the game in years 🤤 thanks nate.

i love knowing how to pronounce all those words i see in game all the time thanks nate
I love Solstime. I've wandered all over, gathering any side quests I can and grabbing every piece of loot I can find. Thank you for making a video on my favorite ash covered island
The reason that mage that just flies in vanilla Skyrim is because levitation was banned and probably only heard stories of it happening. Hence why he attempted it
Someone make me a compilation that's just Nate every single time he says "innn the elder scrolls V: Skyrim"
Just the way you said Louis Beauchamp... It made me laugh so hard! 😆( i'm francophone, that's why 😉)

The item you're given is simply called "Adonato's Book."
Upon renting a room in the Winking Skeever in Solitude, you can actually find a published copy of this very drama... even immediately after the story is turned in to the College.
On my game, the Imperial Guard guarding those two going to Vittoria's wedding just yelled "Skyrim belongs to the Nords!" Hmmmmmmm
._.
If flying magic is illegal, doesn't that mean dragons are constantly breaking the laws of the empire? Just by existing?
Just try to find a guard willing to pull a dragon over to give them a ticket.
It’s a shame Stormcloaks don’t use magic that floating spell would’ve been a great boon
Tis is a good thing though. If you gave them magic they'd be harder to kill! Wait no... those dumb bastards would probably blow themselves up! Nevermind give them the big explodey magic now!
Great vid nate
All this time, I never realized you could enter that crashed airship. I don't even know how many times I've walked right past that door.
Im more amazed at the fact that despite that one guy being a Dark Elf, his skin isn't actually dark. Perhaps the only one of his kind left untouched after what the gods did to them after the battle at Red Mountain. Surely THAT should be number one on this list? That you get to meet the ONLY untainted "dark elf" left?
one of his mods makes dark elves not dark
That's just Nate's un-lore friendly mods. Sorry for being a buzzkill
i think its called windsong
@@metetural9140 I know. I hate his misleading and at times incredibly un-lore friendly mods.
I swear you're always uploading videos relevant to me. I just beat Dragonborn for the first time last night
We have 11:52 PM in Germay and i need to work tomorow at 7:30 AM but your Video's are such great as skyrim and iam waiting for your Vids as i waiting for TES 6
