In our latest Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video we aim to crown the greatest hero in Tamriel! Is it the Champion of Cyrodiil? The Nerevarine? Or the Dragonborn!?
Dragonbreaks: • The MOST Confusing Con...
Godhead, CHIM & Amaranth: • There is Only ONE God ...
Complete Guide to Gods: • The COMPLETE Guide to ...
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

I really enjoy that it’s canon that the Champion of Cyrodilli dedicated himself to the divines, and went on a pilgrimage to become devout enough to serve them. He becomes the most devout follower of the divines. About a month later he decides to be the literal incarnation of insanity, and spends the rest of his days yelling about cheese and trying to achieve self-fish stick.

I like to assume that the coc originally came the shivering isles for one more check mark off his daedric genocide crusade and ended up being dragged into madness by the incomprehensible insanity of sheogorath’s realm it becomes a sort of ancient greek story about the folly of hubris where the coc thinks of himself as an invincible champion of the nine and because of that is completely blind to the threat the shivering isles poses beyond just demons trying to stab you

      Truly the greatest hero

    • @big_slurp4603
      @big_slurp4603 ปีที่แล้ว +116

My headcanon is that the Hero of Cyrodill was always a little bit mad, which is why his first instinct when he encountered a gate to the bloodlands was to just jump into it without a second thought. They then became the living embodiment of Pelinal (who was a bit mad himself) just because a mad prophet (voiced by the same guy as Sheo curiously...) told him so and lead a crusade to both "close shut the jaws of oblivion" and defeat Umaril.
Because they became so used to going into oblivion gates when they finally saw Sheogoraths gate they didn't think much of it and hopped in despite seeing how the gate made all other people mad, its also worth noting the gate didn't change the hero at all which kinda supports the "he was always a bit mad" theory. The time they spent in the realm slowly influenced them more and more and after they became Sheo it took a few years before they fully transformed into Sheogorath, but I like to think that they still have the power to turn into the Pre-Sheo Hero if needs be, if only for a short time.
It just makes sense for them to go mad if you really think about it. They have probably spent more time in realms of Oblivion than anyone else, witnessed the physical incarnation of not one but three Daedra (Dagon, Sheo, Jyggylag) and a divine (Akatosh) and witnessed the horrors of the realms of insanity and the bloodlands over extended periods of time. Feels like almost too much for one mortal to handle. We know the DB is likely corrupted just from their time spent in Moras realm so it only makes sense the same happened to the Hero of Cyrodill.
I also love that the Hero undoubtedly proved the divinity of Talos, which shows the flaws in the Thalmors ideology, but also became the complete antithesis of Talos, in that they are a mortal that ascended to godhood but instead of becoming a divine they became a Daedra

And whenever the Dragonborn does something like joining a band of assassins, vampires or daedra worshippers, the other divines just stare at Akatosh in disappointment

you see nerevarine can cast levitation spells, which doesn't sound too impressive until you realize that casting a level one levitation effect on an enemy effectively reduces their movement speed by 99%
also getting 100 magic resistance is an easy feat for a late game nerevarine, as are potions that restore seven digit numbers of hit points per second with durations of several years.

also the dragonborns melee attacks won't get through the nerevarines nine digit agility stat anyway and he can also buff his speed stat to be so god damn high that he can run circles around the dragonborn even with slow time active.
nerevarine can also make permanent slow fall enchantments so even fus-roh-dah-ing his ass off the throat of the world won't kill him (which makes him the most unkillable of the three as both the dragonborn and the champion of cyrodiil can always die from fall damage if you drop them from high enough.)
not to mention the nerevarine can just use levitate and stay out of range forever because neither the dragonborn, nor the champion of cyrodiil can levitate.

It'd be neat if you could, in Elder Scrolls 6, find the Nerevarine and the Dragon Born and use them as companions or have them be integral to the plot. They could be customizable too so they look like your players from Morrowind and Skyrim, that'd be cool.

It would be pretty cool if they'd come up with a system like Dragon Age's "Dragon Keep" where, you can upload your save file and have it intertwine with the world setting of the next game. This also works for the appearance of the character.
But only problem with that is, mods lol. You appearance would probably be butchered if you had a crap ton of texture mods, and other aesthetics tied in character creation.
It would be dope, though! Or if ES6 you play as the Dragonborn. Until we know more, we can all just sit back, theorize who we will be playing as, etc.

Who also has the backing of the Blades, Greybeards, and the Dawnguard and can control Dragons with a single shout, and don't forget every "good' dragon literally praises him at the end of the game. He can freeze people in place, set them a blaze, Fus Ro Da Nazeem of a cliff, Slow Time to pretty much a stand still, increase his attack speed by like 100% or whatever that shout does, become invincible for a minute, call a meteor shower, summon a dead Dragon, a Sovengarde hero and is literally SHOR Reincarnated. What if the Hero of Kvatch, now ruling the Shivering Isles as Sheogorath, suddenly went back to Tamriel in his mortal body to become the Last Dragonborn? His quest is now to learn why and how he was back, and whether or not he would choose to pursue being Sheogorath again or remain as a mortal.
Its just something you guys might consider making into a build like a main character from an isekai anime. I think it would be fun and it would explain why the player is so OP in Skyrim since he's already become a legendary hero and a daedric prince.

The Nerevarine and the Dragonborn were destined to be heroes. I feel like the Hero of Kvatch was just some guy in a cell. He had no prophecy or dragon soul to support him. Only an opportunity, the opportunity to make something of him/herself. He/she went out there with the amulet, walked into a Gate of Oblivion, wiped out hordes of Daedra, defeated a powerful Sorcerer, an Aylied King, and defeated a Daedric Prince before mantling a God of Madness
At the end of it, the Hero of Kvatch wasn't pushed by prophecy like the Nerevarine or the Dragonborn, they took an opportunity to be a hero and that takes some balls of ebony. And then actually mantling a God?

      @macdhomhnaill7721 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

bakersmileyface The only traitor amongst the stormcloaks was Ulfric. He had ulterior motives.
The Nords wanted religious freedom and to not be controlled/dragged off in the night by the Altmer SS and the Nazi-meri Dominion. The Cyrodillic Empire, who was supposed to protect them in exchange for them remaining part of the Empire, failed to do so and folded to the “You can’t worship Talos” thing. This effected Skyrim almost exclusively. None of the other provinces save Hammerfel really gave a shit. This made the citizens of Skyrim feel singled-out. Between that, the outlawing of the worship of their chief deity and honored ancestor, the forsworn rebellions, a growing vampire menace, tons of refugees flooding in from Morrowind when the Nords were already struggling to maintain themselves, the collapse of Winterhold, and a long string of incompetent and spineless jarls coupled with what they viewed as a spineless Emperor... the Nords of Skyrim were FED THE FUCK UP with all the bs. They decided to take matters into their own hands. They’d been forgotten about and told to suck it up while they were oppressed and refugees poured in to soak up more of their resources amidst an already failing province.
They rallied behind Ulfric (not a good guy, but he was familiar, he was a Skyrim Nord, and he promised to give the people back their country) and rebelled in the name of honor, freedom, and a better future for their children and grandchildren.
Your average stormcloak is not a “traitor” or “evil” or anything. The average stormcloak is a Nord who wants freedom from tyranny and oppression, to no longer be the one who feels the pinch when emperors and Dominions go around squeezing, to honor his ancestors and to make a better Skyrim for his children and grandchildren.
There aren’t many reasons more noble than that, in my opinion.
While the Stormcloak rebellion likely won’t end well for Skyrim, while Ulfric isn’t a good person, and while there is a bigger picture going on... it’s hard to argue “the big picture” to Nord families who are starving, lost their homes, lost loved ones, and now lost their religious freedom. They’re angry, downtrodden, and they want their lives back. That’s what makes a Stormcloak.

    • @bakersmileyface

Well I mean they swore allegiance to the Empire. Therefore they are betraying the empire.
So yes. That makes them traitors.
The Empire fought hard against the elves along side the nords, fighting for their rights as well as the rights of every other nation in the Empire. They lost.
Just because things are going bad for them at that period of time, the stormcloaks are stabbing the Empire in the back and doing their own thing, weakening the Empire further.
      These stormcloaks have no loyalty.
If the Empire had not upheld their end of the bargain to the Nords, then I would understand. Loyalty works both ways. But no, the Empire has upheld their end and done everything they could however they unfortunately lost, but the stormcloaks betrayed them anyway.
