      If this video is anything to go by, finding his way to High Hrothgar must've been very fucking confusing, because the makers of this video think High Hrothgar is in the mountains between Hjaalmarsh and The Pale 14:05 WTF? That's where the Lord Stone is, High Hrothgar is on the Throat Of The World, between Whiterun, Falkreath and The Rift. It's the most obvious landmark in all of Skyrim, how did they get mess this up?

    First off, loved the video and the art style and hope to see more soon. Second, I don't want to be that guy but some of the locations you showed were inaccurate. High Hrothgar and the throat of the world isn't north of Whiterun, it is to the east of Whiterun. Also if I'm not mistaken, Old Hroldan is also located to the east of Markarth. Bethesda is known to Retcon some of the lore so perhaps the older sources give different locations but as of now there are the correct locations.

      @@enderman_666 I mean, isn't that kind of implicit? They're the Dark Elves that worship daedric princes and have a fully legalized system dedicated to assassinating your political rivals. Even without the slavery and the racism they were pretty blatantly designed to be the spooky evil ones, Morrowind just brought nuance to that by putting it all in the context of attempted cultural genocide on multiple fronts.

    Awesome video nice to see you dabble in elder Scrolls lore.
    Two thinks though.
    1. The pronunciation of many races was completely wrong, most notably with the chimer, the ayleids and tsaesci. For someone who knows a lot about tes it takes a bit out of the experience.
    2. Some of the smaller Facts where wrong. For example the Alessian empire didn't control the west of hammerfall when the Ra Gada came. Also Nord's didn't know how to shout during Tibers time there, the left that behind Way back in the first era when Jurgen Windcaller founded the graybeards (who only told Tiber when they called him) (fun fact: after his crowning, Tiber actually founded a Thu'um school in Markarth to get shouting back into Nordic culture, but it didn't take off since non-dragonborn people had a hard time learning the voice.)

    • @commandy7889

      Yep just to add to some other mispronunications I heard:
      - Aetherius (pronounced Aetheerius)
      - Merethic Era (mispronounced as metheric the 1st time)
      - Alessia (pronounced Aleesia)
      - Reman (pronounced Reeman)
      - Stros M'Kai (pronounced Stros Ma'Kai)
      - Yokuda (pronounced Yokooda)
      - Hjalti Early-Beard (pronounced Hyalti)
      - Colovians (pronounced Coloavians)
      That being said other pronunciations were on point, great job on the video guys! Looking forward to more.
      It's also fun to mention that while some stories like the birth of Reman may sound pretty far fetched, that's the beauty of TES lore. So much of its history is told through different authors with their own subjective cultural/religious worldviews. The line between fact and fiction can be blurry. The unreliable narrator influence is what makes TES lore distinct to other fantasy worlds like LOTR where everything is often factual.

      @@commandy7889 Yep, the only events that we know anything with true certainty are the main questlines of the games, and even that's not always true, such as the fact that every ending of Daggerfall canonically happened due to a dragonbreak. As of Skyrim, for example, it's up in the air whether the Hero of Kvatch, the character in Oblivion who ended the Oblivion crisis, was actually the same individual as who completed the various guild questlines. I remember when I was paying more active attention to the lore (largely before ESO was especially good, and since I don't play that anymore it's hard to keep up with the sheer amount it's added as pretty certain info), a massive question was how they were going to resolve the fact that the Civil War questline had two possible endings, and whether they'd use time fuckery, or simply have the empire finish falling apart by the events of the next game, rending the point moot.

      Many elven rulers and preisthoods have been historically opressive and terrible to humans under their rule. While the Thalmor wish to exterminate men, and their upper class is almost certainly thoroughly Ayleid in character worshiping the 'Bad' daedra in the form of Molag Baal there is absolutely no justifiation for the genocide of the Snow elves under the Atmorans and then Norse, nor the eradication of the Ayleid peoples (aligned with the Alessian empire) under the heretical Alessian Order, or even the effective nuking of Somerset by the false god Hjalti. Kyne, Shor and Stun preach mercy above all else, and we should seek to promote harmony instead of war.
      on a side note the Imperials dont really exist as a race, nor do the bretons, or reachmen. The Nedes are once people with many languages and cultures. By throwing off the imperialism of the Colovians and the dogma of the Altmer all the people of Dawn's beauty can be united in opposition to the tyranny of the usurper gods and many of the selfish daedra.

    • @LeoWarrior14
      @LeoWarrior14 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's more morally gray than you think. Many Ayleids were not Daedra worshippers, and actually sided with Alessia against their corrupt kinsmen. Only to be driven out of their homeland by blindly vengeful humans (guided by a talking monkey prophet) centuries after the rebellions end.
      Committing genocide on an entire race for the actions of one faction or it is a bit disproportionate on the Nords part too.

    • @airsoft6147
      @airsoft6147 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's less that any one race is bad or good but that one or the other is lead by more brutal and aggressive factions. the thalmor are a good example, they don't exactly represent the high elves but are a faction of high elves who have taken control and pushing forward their eleven supremacy views to the rest of Tamriel similar to the nazi party taking control of germany.

    • @xdclancer8847
      @xdclancer8847 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kinda depends tbh
      The Ayleids were definitely “evil” by most standards
      What happened with the snow elves is up for debate, it could have been the nords or elves that started that conflict.
      But either way did they deserve to have their entire civilisation wiped out because of the actions of a few?
      The elves of high rock(can’t spell the name) may have done some bad things especially when it comes to the creation of the Bretons but I wouldn’t call them evil
      Wood elves are definitely one of the more “peaceful” races
      Orcs are …..orcs really
      Dark elves are definitely Di*cos no doubt about it
      But houses like redoran are pretty decent actually
      With high elves it’s actually the humans who are entirely in the wrong
      Never did they really threaten human provinces but were constantly invaded
      And no matter how awesome a man he was having a race forced to acknowledge Tiber septim as a god after everything he did was evil
      The man massacred thousands of elves and then forced them into an empire they didn’t need just to add more insult to injury
      So I can definitely sympathise with the altmer
      Ultimately no race is perfect especially human and elves races
