    Awesome video nice to see you dabble in elder Scrolls lore.
    Two thinks though.
    1. The pronunciation of many races was completely wrong, most notably with the chimer, the ayleids and tsaesci. For someone who knows a lot about tes it takes a bit out of the experience.
    2. Some of the smaller Facts where wrong. For example the Alessian empire didn't control the west of hammerfall when the Ra Gada came. Also Nord's didn't know how to shout during Tibers time there, the left that behind Way back in the first era when Jurgen Windcaller founded the graybeards (who only told Tiber when they called him) (fun fact: after his crowning, Tiber actually founded a Thu'um school in Markarth to get shouting back into Nordic culture, but it didn't take off since non-dragonborn people had a hard time learning the voice.)

    • @commandy7889
      @commandy7889 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Yep just to add to some other mispronunications I heard:
      - Aetherius (pronounced Aetheerius)
      - Merethic Era (mispronounced as metheric the 1st time)
      - Alessia (pronounced Aleesia)
      - Reman (pronounced Reeman)
      - Stros M'Kai (pronounced Stros Ma'Kai)
      - Yokuda (pronounced Yokooda)
      - Hjalti Early-Beard (pronounced Hyalti)
      - Colovians (pronounced Coloavians)
      That being said other pronunciations were on point, great job on the video guys! Looking forward to more.
      It's also fun to mention that while some stories like the birth of Reman may sound pretty far fetched, that's the beauty of TES lore. So much of its history is told through different authors with their own subjective cultural/religious worldviews. The line between fact and fiction can be blurry. The unreliable narrator influence is what makes TES lore distinct to other fantasy worlds like LOTR where everything is often factual.

    • @auroraourania7161
      @auroraourania7161 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@commandy7889 Yep, the only events that we know anything with true certainty are the main questlines of the games, and even that's not always true, such as the fact that every ending of Daggerfall canonically happened due to a dragonbreak. As of Skyrim, for example, it's up in the air whether the Hero of Kvatch, the character in Oblivion who ended the Oblivion crisis, was actually the same individual as who completed the various guild questlines. I remember when I was paying more active attention to the lore (largely before ESO was especially good, and since I don't play that anymore it's hard to keep up with the sheer amount it's added as pretty certain info), a massive question was how they were going to resolve the fact that the Civil War questline had two possible endings, and whether they'd use time fuckery, or simply have the empire finish falling apart by the events of the next game, rending the point moot.

High Hrothgar is not north of Whiterun. And while cities might be razed to the ground and rebuilt in a new location (Old Hroldan), mountains don't generally move about. Still, I enjoyed this very much.

    having several generation of historic lore in a single video means there's a lot of details being left out. not necessarily a bad thing but important details such as the nordic giving warriors to alessia during her war with the ayleids (which many claims turns the tide of war for the alessian faction), and how the ayleid kingdoms is badly fragmented and in a strong rivalry with each other, allowing alessia troops to defeat them kingdom by kingdom while their rival ayleid king laughing at the demise of their rival kin, is not mentioned, allowing alessia took all the credits.

    It will definitely need at least 2 more parts, since Morrowind was a tough egg to crack with the Tribunal, then subsequent conquering of: Hammerfell and High Rock, Anequina and Pellitine, and the breaking of the Dominion in Valenwood and Summerset with Numidium. Blackmarsh really just fell in line due to pragmatism after Morrowind signed the Armistice, but even Tiber Septim could not or would not bother to venture past the coasts, establishing outposts and trading ports primarily.

    The War of the Red Diamond would be an interesting topic. The Dragon War, the War of the Crags, and Battle of the Red Mountain are also great and in succession of each other.

    Very good vid. Just one minor issue. The white gold tower was not built by the elves. Like the adamantine tower. Ancient structures that they actually don't know who built them. Only inaccuracies I could see. New favourite channel

    And remember, all this lore was created for a game that was supposed to be just a gladiatorial game in a coliseum: Arena. Devs seem to have got carried away a little bit, making procedural generated dungeons and stuff, ended with a full fantasy rpg game... The actual first game was declared freeware so you can download it and play it if you dare without reading a single guide online. When i did back in the day, i spent years, never doing any main quest thing but its so sandbox you don't even care. You hardly ever see a game like that in this age, i think maybe Might And Magic IV+V was close. but more traditional not exactly railroad but your levels would limit the places you could go. Besides walking from point a to point b in the original felt like real life, you can easily take years of real life so if you start in Morrowind don't expect walking to Skyrim will be done instantly unless you do use the "fast travel" option. Try walking just from city a to city b and count the time... It has dated graphics but the idea of procedural generation was as cool as it was in Elite. Wonder why there isn't a modern take on this? Only in the first game you could visit the entire continent.

    Ahh so the Argonians’ and the cat peoples’ ancestors were the world’s first inhabitants. Neat, I did not know that.
    The Dwemer, I had no idea they were once elves! 🤯
    @15:25 Hannibal of Carthage reference I see. You can’t make a video about Elder Scrolls without some music from its games!

    regarding the bit on the Tsaesci, I personally believe that they were both men and serpentines. the higher ranking Tsaesci were more serpentine in appearance, while the rank and file Tsaesci were more manlike in appearance, as indicated by the designs of the armor and weapons they left behind at Skyhaven temple, a location that was occupied by Tsaesci directly during the Reign of Emperor Reman I and we see the Blades armor is distinctly humanoid in design.
