I corrected, coated and Glissed almost 2 years ago. Still beads nicely but I'm in the process of a plus "jeweling" and a re-gliss right now. So far the essence plus is amazing! maybe even better than the original coating. Side note, your paint correction is awesome. Reflection is top notch.
Sandro thanks for introducing me to this combo, I have 2 year old kamikaze enrei on my jag without any marring, so rather than polish and re-coat, I’m going to try this instead
Didn't have a great experience of this product. Water spots were difficult to get out without compounding, same thing with bird bombs. It does make your car shiny, but I get the same shine from P&S Bead Maker without all the hassle and quick flash times. I think these new coatings have a place, but on daily driven cars? I feel too much work in prep time vs net results and longevity. This is based on my experience living in the Southern California Low Deserts where temps are 120F+ in the summer. I had applied on a prepped vehicle, 2 coats of CQuarts UK 3.0 with 2 coats Gliss. Lasted about 8 months. All the work involved just wasn't worth it. Again, just my experience. If you have a garage queen, or a show car that comes out on the weekends only, these products are great.
Great video brother! I definitely agree with following the manufacture recommendations on all products however I'm looking forward for a 6+ month update for this combinations because I also deviate from time to time
Great vid Sandro, thanks for the effort. It sounds good but it’s just a top up coating for me with an expensive price tag. I like it but reload is gonna get it looking really close also, I also use gyeon wet coat coat to give my car an extra hydrophobic coating every 4 - 6 weeks 👍👍 I still use the car soap from a bottle directly onto the mitt, it does work and lasts much longer, thanks for that tip😊 the in laws have now made their way back to Melbourne to 42 degree heat, lucky buggers... it’s-1 here in South Wales uk lol 😜😜😜
You said Essence plus correct? According to car pro, essence plus is NOT to be used under a coating, essence is. They are completely different products despite a similar name.
Thanks for all your videos ... Did I misunderstand your video or mis reading the below from carpro-usa website? ... it says use Essence not Essence Plus under a coating. Q. Can I use Essence Plus underneath CQUARTZ like I did with Essence? A. No, this is not a primer like Essence is. Coatings will not bond on top! If used in-conjunction with a coating, this goes on top, not bottom.
This is an excelent video. I have a question: after applying Essence plus, how much time did you leave it to cure? And also, did you clean the surface with Eraser or something like that?
I usually allow resins in sealants 3-4hrs to set before topping them with anything and no I don’t do an IPA after applying any sort of sealant/primer or base layer
So you would say that the gliss just diminished due to the weather not due to the adhesion with gliss and carpro essence plus? Did they start to diminish around the same time?
Ugh love your videos mate. Too bad I’m in brissie, otherwise I’d be asking you to give me some detailing lessons in person haha. Do you have a video of how you got your Alfa to shine as much as you have?

I'd be interested in some feedback from your test panels if you installed as a stand alone on any of them. For gloss, durability, and hydrophobicity(?).
Since Essence Plus doesn't contain any abrasives, would you say that it is (or could be) safe for machine application on matte paint (with a non-abrasive pad)?
You probably have said how gliss lasted already but did you like the long term results was it durable, great video I really like your channel your reviews and other content is top notch

Sando, wow! This is the standard of finish mere mortals dream of :- ) It looks as if it has been coated with a fine layer of polished glass ... oh yeh, it has! LOL. Quick question, when you used the "fallout remover" is that safe for ceramic coatings? Is there any chemical change occurring that would reduce the ceramic layer? It doesn't seem so according to your experience but I just wondered. BTW, Well Done!
I applied Cquartz 3.0 last week and want to add Gliss now, I used Essence and Eraser before applying Cquartz 3.0, since my coating is still pretty new would all I need to do is wash the car, apply Eraser, and then Gliss?
What are you using on the glass? I had forte but it doesn’t bead well, made my wipers chatter a bit, and scratched easily even though I hardly ever use my wipers. Like almost never
Hi there. Another great informative video as always. I had a few questions: I applied UK3.0 about 15 months ago, but have been using Reload after every wash monthly. Can I still apply Gliss after thorough wash and decontamination this late?? And secondly, how do I make safely remove any silica spray like Reload without removing my original ceramic coating?
Yes you can still apply it at that later stage. I’d just do a good decontamination wash, you can actually use Carpro Lift to help remove Reload and even use Iron-X if need be and then do an IPA wipe which do the trick to prepare the paint for Gliss.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Oh Ok. I was afraid the IPA would remove the ceramic coat. That’s not true? Or only true when ceramic coating is freshly applied?
I haven’t tried that combination or really applied Gliss over a spray sealant/coating. I’ve only used it over a true ceramic coating and bare paint which is what I believe is it’s intended use. I can’t be sure, but there may be issues with applying Gliss over a less durable spray sealant in that it’s carrier solvents may break it down and therefore cause bonding and performance issues with Gliss.
Fantastic Video! In your opinion, how long do coatings normally hold their gloss? I understand "protection" can last up to 5-years, but how long before the glossy looks fade away assuming the car gets a maintenance wash twice monthly?
There’s just too many factors to put a number in that, whether the car is garaged or outside 24/7 makes a big difference as well as the wether and environment the car is used in, and using a quick detailer can also help maintain the coating better and retain gloss. So it could be a few months or years.
Hello. I used Clearcut, then Essence Extreme and Ceramic coated with Cquartz 3.0 about 2 months ago. I have some micro scratches I want to remove and I think if I use Essence they may not come out. If I use the Cleacut, will that mean I have to reapply my ceramic coating ? Will essence remove some small micro scratches? Thanks in advance !!!!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailingThanks so much for the quick reply. I may just leave it be since I am a fusspot and only I can see the micro scratches. Just keep using my reload and the car looks awesome (Its on a 1966 Mustang Coupe I restored)
Question, if I use carpro essence then apply carpro lite. Then in maybe 5 or 6 months later can I use essence plus and carpro lite again without removing the initial coating? Its a big bottle and I heard shelf life is around 6 months and I want the most out of it since I'll most likely be using it only on one car.
Amazing video that helped me conceptualize what I need to get and do! One question, can I perform the exact same steps except use Carpro SIC instead of Gliss? Have an 8-month UK 3.0 coated car 😊 Sorry if this question has been asked before! Love your videos; they are awesome and extremely helpful! 💯
Thanks mate, and being that SiC is a true standalone coating it really won’t last as long as it needs to be layered with CQUK at the same time rather than months down the track. Gliss on the other hand is a top coat that can be applied anytime down the track.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Understand 👍 Any chance you’d have an estimate on how long it would last? I must be honest; in my enthusiasm and impulse, I went ahead and got the SiC and thinking if I should even go ahead with it or just let it expire on my shelf 😂
very nice as always :) some important question for me: 1) ware there some swirls on the coating, that have been filled with essence plus? 2) how is this krauss compare to mini XFE, about noise and shaking? awesome look :O
Great to see a Aussie like myself, do ceramic coating start to oxide when it's been on for to long? When to tell a ceramic coating needs to be reapplied? Can you just apply gliss on top of a ceramic coating every 6 months?
Although a good ceramic coating that’s been well applied should of help reduce oxidation, it won’t entirely prevent it. When a coating starts to loose it hydrophobic performance that usually a sign that you should try and revive it with a deep clean and decontamination process l, but if that doesn’t help then it make be time to remove and reapply. You can use Gliss every 6mths, but as the coating beneath starts to degrade, Gliss will also not tend to bond or work as well over that older coating.
Hi Sandro- I love your videos. I wanted to let you know I reached out to CarPro about this combo and they did not recommend I top Essence plus with Gliss. However, I still want to try this combo out on my wife’s daily. Thanks for this informative video. How long did this combo approximately last after application?
The V2 👌👍👍👍 Hi, To revive CQuartz lite which is several days old with carpro gliss v2 what advice would you give. Is it necessary to iron a finishing polish?, Or a wash, clay bar fine, ipa is sufficient. Where even just an ipa ?. For a coating that would have several months, would Meguiar's M205 or M210 do the trick? Will it not interfere with the coating? Otherwise I am also thinking of meguiar's deep-crystal polish, which is a pure polish without abrasives !, it might be more suitable for reviving a coating without hindering !? Also, can CQuartz lite + carpro gliss v2 in top coat be better than UK 3.0 alone? I may be wrong but I have the impression that gliss v2 is more at 115 ° than 110 ° in contact angle?!. On a small test on a panel, V2 had slightly tighter beads than CQUARTZ lite. thank you in advance
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing 👍 Thank you. And to revive a coating of several months , would meguiar's deep-crystal polish do the trick ?, there's 0 abrasive in it! . Example deep-crystal polish, then a top coat like "gliss" ?.(maybe a little bit of ipa to remove the deep-crystal polishing oils, and top coat?). Thanks in advance my friend I also have meguiar's M188 left, so soon I'll try a carpro gliss v2 vs meguiar's m188 deep-crystal paint coating duel. They both look like being nano-polymer coatings!. This can be interesting because M188 is also an excellent polymer coating!. I find it a shame not to see more test of the M188 & M688 coating from meguiar's on TH-cam !. M688 is also interesting because it is an improvement of M188 but with addition of Sio2!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Not deep-crystal wax, but deep-crystal polish (pure polish without abrasives!).fr.meguiars.be/produits/step-2-deep-crystal-polish. Too bad about the Meguiar's coverings, they are really nice. Thanks to you ! 👍 👍 👍
Hi mate, What's your thoughts on Autoglyms super resin polish as a substitute for Carpro Essence plus? Could you coat over the Autoglym SRP? I understand SRP is not an abrasive polish but more of a cleaner with some fillers? Could I use SRP to clean my Cquartz before applying Gliss? or will the coat not bond to the SRP well?
For carpro essence plus, what is your normal cure time before buffing.? Is it recommended to allow essence plus to cure overnight before applying reload? Thank you
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing ouch....I was hoping to finish the car in one Day. I have asked Guz and Pan the same question. Guz said 3 hours and Pan 4 hours. But i guess the longer I wait, the Better....
If you want to speed things up, put the car in the sunlight for a couple of hours to help the carrier solvents escape faster out of CQUK, but unlike Reload that is water based and won’t remove the coating and still allow it to cure, Gliss contains stronger solvents and needs to be applied over the coating after its reached a certain curing stage.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing unfortunatly er dont have as much sun here in Denmark, as you do :-) but thank you very much for your time. I have Aldo bougth the new SiC for out second car, just to experience the difference. Is that same procedure as Gliss regarding time interval ?

Its a scam if you are a regular bloke I have a cquartz 3.0 and gliss coated car from a professional detailer and clock close to 90-100 miles a day on the freeway. I dont find any use of the coating because it takes me the same amount of effort to keep the car clean on a daily basis as my other menzerna powerlocl coated car does (which i did at home) Chemistry looks good on paper but in real life usage I do not find any difference in the effort required to keep both the cars slick and shiny. And If i have to put in so much effort, Id rather go for a good sealant, reapply it every 4 months than pay more than 30 times for a good on paper chemistry nano advanced rocket science product If space tech chemistry was at no extra cost, I would have bought it many times over😂😂
@@hellraider0016 I know this is an old post, but almost no one talks about this. I’ve only watched a few videos that admit having a coating is at least as much work and in some cases more work than using a sealant/wax.

@CarCraftAutoDetailing hey could You tell me If this work? Essence -time for cure 3h?-> essence plus -time for cure 1-4h? Car Pro Gliss and after 1 day Reload for maximum Show&Shine
Car Craft Auto Detailing I've been using Essence with Gtechniq and Gyeon coatings for years with great success. Essence is the best thing to happen from a detailing standpoint and is probably the best product ever created since it creates a covalent bond between two chemicals. Ever try Essence with a wax or polymer sealant? Almost instantaneous curing and insane bond. The first time I used Essence with a silica based wax I ended up redoing the hood because the wax cured in seconds instead of minutes and was nearly impossible to remove. Now non coating products that require a few minutes to cure are literally wax on wax off in seconds.

1) ware there some swirls on the coating, that have been filled with essence plus?
2) how is this krauss compare to mini XFE, about noise and shaking?
awesome look :O
thanks a lot!
I mean - do essence plus fill them perfectly?
thanks a lot!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thankyou
Can u Essense Plus underneath ceramic coating? And if so u do u have to do a chemical wipe down?
According to Carpro they don’t recommend Essence Plus to be used under coatings - you can however use the original Essence
Think as for the review and all the explications!!!
Hi Sandro- I love your videos. I wanted to let you know I reached out to CarPro about this combo and they did not recommend I top Essence plus with Gliss. However, I still want to try this combo out on my wife’s daily. Thanks for this informative video.
How long did this combo approximately last after application?
Thanks but it was quite a while back so I can’t exactly remember, but if I had guess I think I got a good 6-12month out of it.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing I really appreciate your reply even in such an old video! Love all your tests on this channel! Keep it up Sandro!
dont i need an IPA wipe down after polishing with essence plus before I apply gliss?
so its ok to top the sealant with gliss?
The V2 👌👍👍👍
Hi, To revive CQuartz lite which is several days old with carpro gliss v2 what advice would you give.
Thanks in advance my friend
I also have meguiar's M188 left, so soon I'll try a carpro gliss v2 vs meguiar's m188 deep-crystal paint coating duel.
Ah ok thanks mate, looks like I will be adding more products to my already extensive arsenal, my missus is gonna be pissed lol
Hi Sandro, how does essence plus compared with reload in terms of durability. Thank you
For carpro essence plus, what is your normal cure time before buffing.? Is it recommended to allow essence plus to cure overnight before applying reload? Thank you
Aplica e remove em quantos minutos?
How many hours do you recommend to wait applying Gliss, after second layer of UK 3.0 ?
At least 24hrs, but you can even do it a week later or any time down the track.
SiC will be similar in relation to that, but it perhaps takes a touch longer to cure
Did you wipe down the car with eraser after you polished with essence plus? Or did you go straight to gliss after essence plus?
Car Craft Auto Detailing That makes perfect sense. Many thanks!
I understand why you didn't use the Eraser after the Essence +, but like any Sealant, doesn't it have certain oils/etc? Isn't it advised to remove all oils before applying any caremic coating?
Wow that car was pretty much dry without drying it
based on this vid, gliss' hydrophobic level is less than cquartz uk?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Since it is said to be more slippery on CarPro's homepage, your most likely correct! ;) How does your Alfa look today 1 year after by the way? Seriously thinking getting this after my 4 stage CarPro polish this spring! :)
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Yes thanks mate watched them now! Very great info !! I think Cquartz will be the answer for me, as im thinking going with something lasting better down under & then Angelwax, just to get that real wetlook which i may be swapping more often.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks mate just checked them! Superb info !! Im thinking going Cquartz for protection & as my "top coat" Angelwax Desirable, just for the wetlook & less waterspots. Then perhaps sometimes use Meguiars M699 as a top coat to regain hydrophobics now & then.. 😊
Hi Sandro with all the trouble for preparing the paint before is it not better to do another coat of C'quarz Uk even after 9 or 12 months the price for the Gliss is almost the same C'quarz. I would like to know your own opinion on this one is it realy Worth it ?By the way keep doing your great video and have an amazing 2018 from Canada.
Thanks Sandro for honest information.
i dont get it... you say, that carpro cquartz uk should be wiped off after a short time... carpro says, to let the coat flesh up to 5minutes....
Can these products be used with a nova dc coating?
Car Craft Auto Detailing so either would remove any small scratches while retaining the protective coating?
Thankyou for the clarification. I have only recently coated my car with nova dc and someone has already scratched my car. I was hoping there was a solution to repair it without stripping and reapplying the coating
Please update if Gliss adhered or not. I was going to try Essence Plus and top with EXOv3 on vehicles that have 1 1/2 Crystal Serum Light on them just to amp them up without starting from scratch so I'm curious about if a coating will adhere to Essence Plus. Thank you for the video. Well done.
Look forward to it, thanks.
Nice review as usual car looks stunning that is for sure. Pure porn the water run off should not be allowed lol. Love your reviews, so in depth and relaxing to watch explaining every thing you do.
Hi Sandro it is my impression that iron and tar removal chemicals would affect the base ceramic coating ? Is this not the case?
Thanks
Great to know thanks Sandro
Uma camada??
You don’t feel another wash is warranted after the Iron-X? Just curious...
Btw what gloves are you wearing? Look like sometime reusable which I’m all about.
Man that red pops! Now I wish even more I would have went with red on my Audi instead of white.
Car Craft Auto Detailing Makes senses thanks.
Car Craft Auto Detailing unfortunately not available here in North America apparently.
This is a scam. CQuartz and gliss
A coating which required another coating
Scam
Only to one who knows nothing about chemistry and coatings. They ALL do it, think about that for a minute.
Its a scam if you are a regular bloke
I have a cquartz 3.0 and gliss coated car from a professional detailer and clock close to 90-100 miles a day on the freeway.
I dont find any use of the coating because it takes me the same amount of effort to keep the car clean on a daily basis as my other menzerna powerlocl coated car does (which i did at home)
Chemistry looks good on paper but in real life usage I do not find any difference in the effort required to keep both the cars slick and shiny.
And If i have to put in so much effort, Id rather go for a good sealant, reapply it every 4 months than pay more than 30 times for a good on paper chemistry nano advanced rocket science product
If space tech chemistry was at no extra cost, I would have bought it many times over😂😂
@@hellraider0016 I know this is an old post, but almost no one talks about this.
I’ve only watched a few videos that admit having a coating is at least as much work and in some cases more work than using a sealant/wax.
What was up with that annoying intro audio?
Gliss on Essence ? Pls dont do this. Its not recommended
I've also installed ceramic products over Essence Plus and Essence. Gotta love TH-cam; everyone is an eggspert.
just want to help. you can read it on www.carpro-us.com.
CarPro GLISS Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Can it be used on top of Reload, Essence Extreme, or Essence Plus?
A. No since they will not allow the coating to bond to the surface.
rgds,
the eggspert :P
That's an ugly ass car!
