Would've liked to see CQuartz vs CQuartz + Gliss.
Test away mate, we love watching you do it!
can you apply product outside ?
Well said bro .
Awesome. I did the same essence plus then over laid with Gliss, even though I was told not to. Worked perfectly. Very happy with it. Great work!!
It’s holding up to lovely Melbourne weather nicely.
Haters will hate. Continue on Sandro! Your videos are the best!
this vid is really good for people like me who are still finding my way around detailing. keep up the good work mate
Love your channel. You are a real professional.
Cool video Sandro the close up of beading awesome great work
Sandro you keep doing what ya do the way ya wanna do it. It's how you test products and procedures and comment on the how and why of things that made me subscribe to your channel in the first place. Thanks for this follow up review!
I must admit I was one of those guys in your other video but what I took away from that video is the idea of letting Essence+ sit for a few hours for the lubricants to "evaporate" off the surface. I did not think of that but made a lot of sense. This is another great test and I am looking forward to the results from the full car and this one. Those hydrophobic shots are awesome. Great video and explanation of what you are trying to get across.
Awesome mate John from Carefree Auto Detailing in NY. Off label and experiment is what I always do as well. No one way is totally right. Keep up the good work
Love the macro stuff. A great test, yet again. Thanks
Ignore the naysayers Sandro mate. If we all stuck strictly to what the manufacturers tell us, we would all still be using only Rupes pads and polish on there machines, and only GTECHNIQ shampoo & polishes with their Coatings..... and be losing money hand over fist in the process.
Thanks for doing this experiment and posting the video. Very scientific in your approach.
Great video bro . as a man wiser than me once said "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life ." the thing about detailing I love is I get to be one of the lucky few that can honesty say I love my job .
Very nice vid, great close up views at the end...
I thought porn was banned on utube sandro. You are the best keep up the good work that gliss is not cheap even in Uk mate.
My favorite part is the end. 😍😍😍
Just working through your back catalogue........love from uk 🇬🇧
Great vid Sandro, thanks. I agree that the results will be in the longer term test rather than now... looking forward to it mate. Don’t worry about your method in testing, that’s what the manufacturers did before releasing it... just have a go and share your findings, no heart attack will be on the cards mate, I promise, lol keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Impressive work here!
Loved the final macro part ☺️
Amazing.. Creative. Keep it up and thank u
Did you ever do an update video?
Once the GLISS is the topcoat, why would it matter what's beneath it? It's blocking the coat beneath it and will behave the same exact way across all undercoats.
I really want to see how gliss on its own holds up
Looking forward to seeing you test out CQUARTZ UK 3.0 sometime soon Sandro. If the marketing hype is anything to go by, I’m expecting great things for a products available to the enthusiast.
I applied 1 coat of cquartz3.0 followed up by gliss.
Water beads like crazy and evacuates surfaces at about 30-35 mph driving. Most waxes and sealants have taken about 45mph speed to shed. Its my new standard.
Do not apply reload over this. Its not nearly as hydrophobic and It will ruin the beading characteristics.
How bout cqurtz alone? Any improvement after apply gliss?
@@seleparjepon1255 cquartz seemed to do a good job. I would put it up there with some turtle wax products as far as its hydrophobic ability goes.
There was a noticeable increase in the bead angle after applying gliss.
I did apply reload over gliss and it didnt go well. I was very disappointed with the beading of reload. I’ve strip washed reload from the car and applied 2 coats of gliss to try to get the performance back but for some reason it doesn’t seem to be binding very well.
Long story short, you will be pleased with cquartz alone, and if your into water beading products, you’ll really have some fun with gliss, just stay away from reload.
Gliss is a great product. My question after I apply this. Can I use a meguiars qik Detailer spray over this product to keep the Gloss and have the clean look ?? Thank you
I think Meguiar’s Ceramic Detailer will work well over Gliss
@CarCraftAutoDetailing grest. If I only use the reload. I guess my choice of qik detailer should be good as longs as it the ceramic detailer. Thank you for your reply.
Do you think you could do this with gyeon can coat?
Thank for doing the experiment. I'm interested in the results because I have a few vehicles with 2 year old Crystal Serum Light on them with one in particular thats black has a few very light swirls in it. I was going to very lightly polish them and top coat with EXO v3 coating I already have and want to use up. I've been debating whether to use Essence or Essence Plus with say a Lake Country black pad. Was curious on your thoughts on which way to go? I'm not planning on doing this till later on in the year. I've enjoyed all your videos but this one is of particular interest.
How many minutes after the Carpro Gliss application is ready for buffing with microfiber
It’s generally within a minute or so depending on the ambient weather, but as soon as you see it haze you should wipe it down immediately
Have you tested Gliss overtop of other coatings than Ck 3.0? I know they says its designed to work and bond to ck but im interested to see if it bonds to others such at Nv Evo
No, I haven’t had as much time as I’d like to test Gliss even further for such things.
Great video so i have been using the Cquarts Uk alone without the gliss but seeing there really is no difference in water behavior at the moment and really no major difference in gloss. Would it even be worth it to take the additional step as an added cost for clients as im sure they are going to be expecting some sort of difference. I guess really too it boils down to preference and durability
As always, appreciate your in depth videos and thorough research. I do have one question: wouldn’t the curvature and slope at the edge of the panel make the water beading look more impressive vs the water beading in the two center sections of the panel?
I applied Cquartz Lite + gliss v2. After some rain, I have water spots all over the car. I wasn’t aware that SiO2 was prone to spots. Is this something I have to deal with ? Is there another topper (lol) that prevents spots??
Every application, environment and situation is different so I can only guess. But lots of water spots from rain water can be a sign that a coating/s aren’t yet fully cured as rain water generally (not always) contains very little mineral content. The first week or two after applying a coating is it’s most vulnerable time in which it’s best to try and keep it dry, try and give it some UV exposure and if it gets wet try not to store it wet over night, after that period it should be good to go. Water spots take time and or UV light to etch into paint, so the quicker you get to them the easier they are to remove. Quick detailers can help both remove light water spots and give you a little more time to remove them before they start etching into the coating.
If any wax, sealant, or top coat will last longer over a bare paint rather than on top any other product...
Do you think that finnish a polishing job with an SC S40 instead of with Carpro Essence before apply Cquartz Uk 3.0 would be a good idea? Thanks a lot!
Amazing....
Yeah it’ll really come down to durability in this test
Sandro the Legend!! Great video brother. Any chance you might have a 3 month durability test or follow up? Great review. I have been using essence for the past 6 months and after doing a one step with it I have been using eraser before coating even though Carpro states that you don't have to so I'm very pleased your doing this review. The Sio2 coating I use are much more durable than Cquk and most of the over the counter coating which is why I definitely want to make sure bonding is not compromised. What has been your experience with using eraser after essence? Or do you just coat right over essence? Thank you in advance brother.
Car Craft Auto Detailing thanks for the info brother, will definitely do the same. Cheers from Hawaii
how long do I have to wait to put the second layer?
not 12h ?
Can it be applied over any ceramic coating ( opti gloss ) or just cquartz
Car Craft Auto Detailing Ok thank you for the information very helpful and appreciated
How do I get in contact with you?
Email and social media contacts are in the about page of this channel.
is it advisable to apply reload over gliss?
Car Craft Auto Detailing i lost the slickness of gliss only after 3 washes. The paint is still hydrophobic but im no longer if im seeing the effects of gliss or if it’s already cquartz uk
Car Craft Auto Detailing so reload made the coating slick? I hope it does
Car Craft Auto Detailing Im sticking with the cquartz uk + reload combo which i think is the most efficient and nice durability. Im testing gliss after an IPA to see if the durability improves. Actually thinking of trying gyeon skin.
Great chanel
Can i use cquartz uk 3.0 on glass of the car?
Thanks
You can use it in glass, but sometimes it can cause wiper chatter on the front windscreen which is why a dedicated glass coating like Carpro Flyby Forte may be a better option as it tends to resist wiper chatter.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank u for the answer
I see that there is carpro gliss v2
Does it ok for glass?
I unfortunately haven’t tried it yet
Firstt..planning to try gliss on bare paint, but do you suggest to use cquartz uk over gliss for bare paint? Which one will last longer and which is better in terms of protection?
Sufi Azmi Gliss can go on bare paint or on top of CQUARTZ uk.
CQUARTZ uk is the primary coat so it should not go on top of Gliss.
CQUARTZ uk will last the longest and give more protection. Think of Gliss as the added glossy layer but with less durability.
Chase Perfection Valets & Detailing thanks a lot! Will apply the cquartz uk first
