The rear mirror overlay not being, uh, mirrored?, scares the heck out of me every time, thinking you and the car behind are diving directly in to each other!
@@kaizlol825 It's what the camera pointed towards the rear window is recording . In a rear view mirror the view is, well mirrored. You can see cars coming up on the left and then suddenly passing on the right which is weird. Easy fix in the editing if you want to make the rear camera look like a mirror. Not a big thing but I agree mirroring would be nice.

If you have a chance to get to the track or even drive on it, you will realize how much more the elevation changes really are. My first time arriving to "Brünnchen" I directy thought of a roller coaster instead of a racetrack, really nice experience 😉

It was really unreal watching these laps happen from behind your head, Steve. It shows how far you have come the last couple of years (you and Jimmy both). Your overall awareness is always spot on, and needs to be as those damn GT3's come out of nowhere. Maybe that'll be you someday, and no doubt that'll be some day for you, but great start!

4:50 the Renault is from Ollis Garage Racing I think, it's the temporary replacement for the Dacia Logan, which got taken out in the 24h, was totaled and will now be build again from 0 just for the Nls and the 24 hours

Great performance, Steve! For your next race maybe ask the guys from Black Falcon to mount one of those superwide motorsport rearview mirrors in the car instead of the standard one. On some of those mirrors the glass is slightly curved outwards, so you can perfectly see through all the windows on the side and in the back of the car just with a brief glance. That makes you a lot more aware of the cars surrounding you and more awareness always means a safer ride! Until then, keep it up! Hope to see you on the track some day!
My thoughts on your lap would be, don't be afraid to eat those curbs more on entry. There's a ton of time to be had by keeping those lines super super tight.
The first time i drove the nordschleife, with Misha next to me as instructor, going down to the foxhole was bizarre.. him telling me not to let go of the throttle, where it felt like my hair was on fire... that drop down is just EPIC, loved it afterwards, but that first time, bwoah! Great work Steve, keep up the progression!
To see how far you have come I've followed you for many years it's absolutely inspiring and I hope one day I'll be close to emulating something similar myself.

This is gonna be a fun ride. Looking forward to it. Take your fitness seriously. If you get uncomfortable, you get stupid. The fitter you are, the harder you can beat on your body before it complains. One thing I find very disconcerting in this video is the rearview cam. I'm used to seeing everything behind me mirrored, and it's jarring to have this not mirrored. Maybe I just need to get used to it. One of those things that you'd never even think about if the video was mirrored.

been here since day one, Watching your youtube videos is what made me play Forza online and start racing to win. I downloaded all the same tunes you used and used all the same cars and started to think about the tracks how a racer should. Playing those endurance races were so much fun. Now they are still as fun if you find a lobby with a bunch of people. Even then I feel like all the racers in the top 10 of every lobby is pretty good. Just because the only people that still play it are the people that truly loved it lol. I hope motorsport is amazing and you can make a return to the franchise. But watching your Journey has been worth it every step of the way. I'm hoping to get an actual sim rig and some vr to play gt7 and AC. Onto GT3 cars next year Steve.

Great stint Steve, some tips for you when you race. If you go faster and break later your lap times will go down. And if you don’t let anyone by then you will win, good luck!
I can’t get over how ridiculously fast those GT3 cars are especially in context with the on board cam. I’m already nervous watching you going as quick as you are. I have been running it on GT7 and find it amazing how much the game looks and even feels like the videos of the real thing. Watching real laps I know EXACTLY where on the circuit you are and what is coming next. Racing sims have to be extremely effective for teaching a race circuit.
You did great mate. And that 'mistake" you made missing your braking point is not due to GT but because it just has different braking characteristics, you just have to get used to the car, same as in GT when you start driving another car. Awesome driving! Love to see more from your racing story unfold in the future!
