What a great way to control the coyote population! Can you imagine if you weren't taking out all those coyotes. Saving a bunch of pheasants and deer fawns
Since we take so many that way every year, I can imagine we have much long term effect on the population. But I’m sure it makes a difference on the prey species!
I never knew how get to coyote season was going hunting but they are smart know but I like these fur liked its very harder than time winter and spring season it's been I never met coyote.
Coyotes are (in my opinion) the smartest animal in North America!

I like to predator hunt with my winchester sx4 and my uncle's winchester model 12 loaded with 2³/4 inch 12 gauge buckshot and hordany 12 gauge hevay magnum coyote 3 inch shells. You can use any size of shell in Texas.
I bet that slaps them! We can use those in Kansas as well. Just not for these hunts as a safety precaution

Recently they have been trying to lower the number of hunters. As far as I’m aware, you have to know somebody to be invited
How many years have these hunts been taking place? Who monitors if there is a reduction in loss of farm animals etc? What is their goal in reduction? How and who determines the hunting area?

Why do they do this?
It’s a way to help keep the population in check. The farmers loose a lot of livestock every year to coyote’s.

I have hunted coyotes in Kansas for 50+ years.
While their population fluctuates in heavily hunted areas, a healthy coyote population is found throughout every county.

But it's a false perception that most people think...that coyotes only are moving during the night.
It's true that night is when they are most active.
But many of them do also move from place to place, and hunt during the day.
Can think of a few cities that could benefit from this type of population control procedure
