    Always love to carefully watch the coyote responses to the calling... and the great results that patience brings. I always love seeing how the well-timed bark stops 'em dead in their tracks... so they die right there. Thanks Jeff and Les...

      Thank you Tim! Yes it is so very important to pay attention to the body language and movement of the coyote. Listening to what Jeff did once the coyote stopped. How long he waited to coax, and how long he did coax. Glad you noticed....your tuned in, which is good! Thanks again for watching! Have a good night. LJ

    Took my daughter out calling this morning. Had one come in to us but I missed him. Came in on a howler call. One last day of deer season then after them deer killers. Hunted one pasture of a neighbor and seen more coyote tracks than deer tracks!

    Hey les, I know I'm a year late, but I was wondering what bipod your brother Jeff was using?

  • @jimf1964
    @jimf1964 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Been watching a few videos to learn some tricks, and they were all with electronic callers. Not only are they expensive, but unless you pay big bucks for a remote one, they never shut up. Calling manually may be a pain if it takes long, but I think is much more realistic.

    Just started hunting predators about a month ago (greenhorn) and need all the help I can get. Which way was the wind on this set?

    • @everythingoutdoorswithlesj4975
      @everythingoutdoorswithlesj4975  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      HVAC, I was filming and sitting to the right of my brother, so I never want to sit "downwind" of the shooter because "typically" a coyote is going to drift to the downwind if they start getting nervous or figuring that something just isn't right. So, the wind was blowing a little bit to my brother's left side. This coyote came straight to us but was starting to "drift" to the side where the wind was blowing. Hope that helps. LJ

    I've called in 3 so far this season in 6 outings, adding up to maybe 2 hours on stand. All have been called in with either my ruffidawg coaxer or my closed reed brush country cottontail calls.

    If that was me calling here in Ohio, The coyote would have hung up at the woodline of the creek and never came out that late in the morning!

      We were back off of the nearest road about 1/2 mile, so it felt a little more safe showing its face. I agree though. Most coyotes do not want to cross any open field if they do not have to. Thank you for watching! LJ

      Les told me Jeff was older. I asked him a while back on a video. Just by a couple of years. .22-250 is his caliber of choice. Later john, keep watching his videos, they are the best on you tube.
