- Sorry for the wait and delays, life just in the way. Hoping the rain will hold off so I can do a few 1/4 runs later this evening. Overall, love the new set-up, engine very smooth and strong. Does make the Fusion a "more refined" car overall. Not sure why the car did not come with a 3.0 vs the 2.7 out of the box.
Good luck Roberto awesome
i’m excited to see her in action
Roberto! I’m glad your back ! 🍻
Have you thought about wrapping the coolant cross over pipe in cylinder valley to prevent heat soak into intake plenum?
How about making custom aluminum intake plenum spacers (38mm) to get more air volume ( like tb spacer but at end of intake ) .
God bless 🍻!
Nice man, I did the swap aswell look foward to setting the bar you and marcelino.
Also, I have the XDI injectors with no issues at the moment.
Great update video! Did you do the swap yourself?
No, did it in friend with a "real" garage, still a big project to do it by myself
As an MKZ owner…. I can’t wait to see what you figure out! I think I can hear your transmission crying from here. 😂
We have the same 6F55
Nice bro let me know if you need anything I am here to help this Platform
Just curious, would the 3.5-liter from the SHO have fit? That would have been a real beast!!!
Physically would not fit
3.0 is much stronger and less problematic
3.0 smokes that engine in every way….
@@pray4war_1ss Except displacement.
Did you need to install the computer of the MKZ or it the same as the 2.7 ?
No, stock ECU, but revision for the 3.0
Did you scrap the 2.7? Would you say the 2.7 is reliable?
2.7 is reliable if you keep it under 500HP and be on top of the maintenance. drove the heck out of that engine (98,000KM) before the rod #1 snap below the piston. I was able to drive it for a full week before scoping the cylinder and realize it was hanging on top of the chamber on it's side. Main advantage of the 3.0 is a little less compression, better piston design and the dual piston oil squinters (vs. 1).
What was the cause if your engine to fail and what broke?
Wrist pin failure
Just curious, what happened to your 2.7 did it blow up?
The rod #1 broke clean near the wrist pin. Was able to drive the car for two weeks in V5 mode, the piston got stuck on its side ways near the top of the cylinder. Took a week to realize it was that. At first we taught it was the rear turbo that seperated...
Is the 3.0 a more durable motor? When you turn the power back up, would it be better able to handle it?
www.explorerst.org/threads/3-0l-piston-tech.758/ yes, the piston are better design and stronger.
@@cbrownpy89 So far the record is 774 whp on factory sealed, stock 3.0
I use Nostrum injectors and HPFP in my 3.0. XDI is trashhh.
Yeah, trying to figure out if the ST injectors would fit, even if it similar, they have a different fomoco part number. I left a stock 2.7 injector at my dealership, the day they will have a ST injector, we will visually compare them.
@@twinforce_fusion6560 I have my stock 3.0 injectors in the garage if you want measurements or part numbers.
I hope your wife does not know that fusion cost as much as a nissan gtr…
Its on her name....for real.
@twinforce_fusion6560 on the video you talk about about the air intake being possibly improved. Well I know on some cars, people increase the air volume by making it larger, making them hold more air in the air intake in return making it have a lot better throttle response because having stored air. Check about getting a custom intake made.
