I fr have been looking hidious af lately. I dont sleep. I spend hrs on the damn internet. And ive gained 10 lbs since quarentine. Which is still ongoing bc idek when i go back to work. I mean, i feel pretty useless. But the other part of me is like f it. You have no plans. You can sleep days at a time, if you want. Maybe its not that healthy to stay up this late. But then again, ive mainly worked late hrs the majority of my life anyways

The 4-7-8 breathing method
Mixing together the powers of meditation and visualization, this breathing method becomes more effective with practice. If you have a respiratory condition, such as asthma or COPD, consider checking with your doctor before beginning, as this could aggravate your symptoms.
To prepare, place the tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth, behind your two front teeth. Keep your tongue there the whole time and purse your lips if you need to.
How to do one cycle of 4-7-8 breathing:
Let your lips part slightly and make a whooshing sound as you exhale through your mouth.
Then close your lips and inhale silently through your nose. Count to 4 in your head.
Then hold your breath for 7 seconds.
After, exhale (with a whoosh sound) for 8 seconds.
Avoid being too alert at the end of each cycle. Try to practice it mindlessly.
Complete this cycle for four full breaths. Let your body sleep if you feel relaxation coming on earlier than anticipated.

I used to laugh all of the time and find a lot of things funny, now I laugh probably once a week. I’m not changing that nor am I going to force myself to laugh just to make people find me attractive.

I used to be really pessimistic and found it easier to complain about things when involved in conversations. I was like this until I was talking to someone one day and they spoke in the exact tone I did. I found the conversation so miserable, ironic as it sounds since I spoke like that too.
After that I started to avoid being so negative all the time and really engaged in conversations. I’m not overly-positive when speaking now, but I avoid constant pessimism. I realised from a listener’s perspective that it’s very draining to listen to and made the atmosphere uncomfortable.
Thankfully I’m no longer like this and I try to keep the conversation interesting for me and the person I’m speaking to.
edit: I doubt someone will read this comment but I felt like I should add in that I don’t mind listening to someone’s problems or something that’s bothering them, but persistent complaining and overall negativity about everything can be quite tiring.
Yesss it was the exact same for me. I didn't realize how frustrating it must've been for people to hear my constant complaints until the same energy was returned. I then started to notice how it drew people away, and I was like, "Ahhh... so that's why." 😂😂

That's not entirely true. Julian Casablancas has huge dark circles and he is attractive. I knew a girl who had that same dark circles and I thought she was cute. I also have some. My eyes look tired most of the time and a lot of girls find me attractive. So.. I guess it depends. Dark circles may suit well for some people.
I like dark circles actually, so there is no need to be insecure about it. Sure some people might not like it but I'm sure there are a lot out there who do.

I think I might be one of those "unatracctive" people. I'm pretty quiet, and I don't often talk to people whom I don't know or feel uncomfortable with, so it's hard for me to open up to new people. I feel like that's the reason why people keep leaving me, despite the fact that I try my best to be kind. The thing is, I'm very quiet if I don't like you and very talkative if I think you're nice but that happens rarely :'D

It may be because you’re not talkative with people you dislike or don’t know well. If someone thinks another person dislikes them, they’re less likely to like that person themselves because they feel like they’re being a nuisance. I think the main problem people are having is just getting past the first step of a relationship - physical attraction. All this other stuff comes later or is only valuable if these people are already in your social circle and are around you enough to actually get to know you.

Going along with "strange body smells", the smell of cigarette smoke is also a huge turn off for some people. You might be the most charming person in the world, but if you smell like you just had a cigarette, it's a no from me.
Of course, I'm saying this the day after a guy came into my workplace smelling of cigarettes and later asked for my number. My first thought was, "Ew, no." 😅
Too much perfume or cologne is just as bad as BO
One of my teacher used to smoke during the breaks and he'd stink so much because of that. It was quite unpleasant.

Pessimism can go a long way, especially with a lifetime's experience. You grow to not only hate, but also fear the world around you. You always have mixed emotions about anything significant you ever want to do, and the equality in positive and negative emotions for something that you genuinely enjoy and will clearly benefit you will eventually tear you apart from within, leaving your future in ruin because you decided not to.
the funny thing is that we will rarely bump into people like you and me who watch videos like this for self-improvement. It's the people who don't care that we deal with in our day to day lives. Their energies are just so soul sucking...

All those 6 things are right. But I think in some cases it depends on the situation or the person you are talking to. As an introverted person, I think it's a matter of understanding the other person's own language or own way of communication also preferences, for example in the sense of humor part, or body language. I have been misunderstood several times because people still haven't learned to understand introverted people

I get where you're coming from, but the original intent of the quote has often been very misleading tbh, because a lot of people use it as an excuse to not even try or use it as an excuse to be their worst, expecting their partner to just await for their "best" side. Idk, it depends on the interpretation but that line always made me somewhat uncomfortable.

that line...thats what I fear and now I see its true so welp the anxiety. This happens all the time at work and I just see from ppl that it does spread... now I feel worse. I try to smile and seem less.. everything but its hard as I just seem mad or way too serious then. Dunno what to do about it tbh. Also stress...one customer yelled "youre not in that much of a hurry" and I just felt uncomfortable bc of being so damn stressed

Honestly, I think anxiety makes us focus too much on ourselves and our racing thoughts - I can't say for sure if it spreads or it's just my perception of it in the moment.
I'm told I look all jittery and panicked every day too - and when I try to play it cool, they say that I look constipated, lol
I found that focusing on and correcting the way my body moves helps me feel better a little.
Do your thing, but try to move slower and smoother.
I heard that anxiety crumbles you in a ball - straighten your back and open your shoulders, puff your chest a little. Breathe.
If you have to wait for something while the customer is here - resist the urge to fidget, just sit/stand/go about your things there calmly.
Some of the customers are like fussy children, I can't blame them for being this way, especially when spluttering on them "N'yeah, we're going here right now, I'm doing it, I know~" like how you would to a baby, seems to be the only way to go tbh xD
I found that people LOVE knowing the exact ammount of time they have to wait.
Give yourself more time than you think you'll need and say something like" Just 3 more minutes, sir, and we'll have it all done for you!".
Most settle after that.

I'm going to try and explain this in the best way I can. There has to be a balance where you communicate with your friends that you are struggling and that you need help but you have to also acknowledge that they have their own lives/problems too; so if you are always crossing the line into treating them as a 24/7 therapist it gets really overbearing and it can make your friend feel depressed and/or anxious. And I say that from experience. For the majority of my life I had either felt depressed, anxious or hated myself, there was no inbetween but when I finally started to see some kind of light and I tried to offer my peers advice with their problems it started to get suffocating and I found myself in a depression again. I know it can be tempting to seek help through friends but honestly, as harsh as the reality is, seeking a therapist is the best option because no matter how good you think your friends are with helping you out, a professional is the best person to do it because they are trained with this kind of thing.
Please dont think it's us not caring about you but it's us trying to preserve our own mental health as well as making sure you get the proper help that you deserve.

@@daniguimaraes4453 as someone who's gone through so many of those situations from others and ended up in a really bad burnout, I can agree. it makes me feel so bad, not to mention that heavy emotions scare me and I just choose not to make it public, like I try to help but something just makes me so uncomfortable and I wish people understood that. :((

So true, depression is more uncomfortable to most people than they say. Nobody talks about bad hygiene and stuff like that. I'm a depressed anxiety ass myself and at some days my biggest achievement is to shower.... It makes everything hard.
tbh I just have bad hygiene habits from when I was a kid. Depression coming later in life probably made it harder to fix said bad hygiene habits. Even though I've been improving over the last few years, its still a task. It also doesn't help I have a terrible sense of smell. One time I washed my clothes and forgot to dry them. I went to smell them to see if they had soured yet, and didn't smell anything, but my family kept telling me my clothes stank. So I wont even know I smell bad unless someone tells me.
