  • My apologies for this badly edited video. I had a few corrupt video files and I've debugged and updated my camera so all should be good from now on.
    Anyway, I've assembled the cab as far as I can until it's to a point where I need to fit the LEDs. I've fitted the upgrade LEDs to the beacon bar and upper beacons, and the upgrade LED bars for the lower and upper light bars.
    I've been tired and exhausted and I've made a few small mistakes which have been address. I'm taking time off work to recoup and re-engergise and I will get myself in the zone with this build. It's been hard to motivate myself on it.

    Looking good. I went for the single LED option for the spots as well. I ganged them up inside the roof.

    I didn’t use the boards for mine, mine are individual leds in the bars.
    My Beacons are the set as you, got mine from Astec as it was faster
    They are lovely. 3 way switch is needed for them

    Glue and rc trucks scares the heck out of me especially with my crippled mits and by god theres some fidley bits to glue ,, looking well sharp Teri nice clean look , wish i could have gone same route as you with the beier system but me and computers and my 1 brain cell lol . I also used the upgrade kit for my beacons ..I found with mine from astec I just had to put bit pressure on the lens and they fit perfect also used same leds for spots i tried doing what you did but my shakey useless hands the backs kept dropping of so had to do one at time lol looking forward to see how you get on with beier , but to be honest think your gona manage with ease

      Honestly, I hate glueing small parts, and I've really messed up on the parts that I've had to have repainted. Herbie D RC Paint has been invaluable.
      The Beier seems OK as far as sound goes from the hour or so I've spent on it.

      I love the sounds you can have with the sfr1 but me and computers just don't work ...shame as ide love one ,, iam thinking of the new basic £130 beier unit on next truck tho as no pc needed and it's fraction of size of mfc .
      Teri you probably seen it but if you havnt check either hobby concepts or hairy Steve on here he from modelworld in Kent its both the recent uploads if you havnt seen the new beier unit it's basic but think it's gona make tamiya mfc redundant for many

    Hi it lookin good there is a hing kit u can get for them n magnets for back or ur have to take all the heavy haul kit off just to take cab off or 4 magnets to hold it have u book into nationals yet 👍👍

      @TeriWilde  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I didn't know about a hinge kit, but I doubt I'll get one because it's only 4 bolts that hold the tower on anyway. I'm not doing the Nationals because I've got other things planned that weekend.

    A note on power driver use....
    I agree with you that amateurs should not use them.
    Im a retired ASE Certified Mechanic, with over 40 years of power tool experience. And have serious Arthritic fingers....
    I also use only low torque power drivers, for the bulk of screws, knowing what tight enough is....
    And for delicate things like that light bar, i would only use hand tools.
