@@7_ty_so idk if it's the same way in other countries as well, but in mine military/police families tend to stick together in a designated neighbourhood. if that's the case for u.s. military as well, it prolly wont even matter whether or not anna todd is part of that statistics; simply living in close proximity to them happening, and likely normalised and being rationalised as well, would have been enough to gradually make someone think that it's just another "flavour" of relationship and that theres nothing wrong with it. :/
@@cigaretteparfum So it depends on the military branch and how active the military member is but in the U.S many families with an active duty service member will live on military bases. Lots of bases are like little cities where you don't need to really leave that often and only military members and their relatives are allowed in. On bases the wives will tend to have friend groups because really they are the only people to hang out with and since their partners are essentially coworkers it works out, it is absolutely possible that since it's such an isolated sort of culture that more abusive relationships would be normalized. I am not saying this had to have been her experience since there are many military families who live off-base but from what I know it is a likely scenario.

Whenever I hear about fics like this I can't help but remember how the 1D fandom was awful towards Zayn in ways that have a LOT to do with racism. Poor guy is always the designated villain it seems
I never was into one direction but I always like Zayn cause he was one of the most attractive out of that group

what baffles me about this series is that EVERY OTHER CHARACTER is like "harrys a bad person" and anna todd wrote those characters saying that but for some reason we're supposed to root for them??

45:20 not a high thought at all. It’s called a passive protagonist. A protagonist that has stuff done *to them* constantly instead of them doing things out of their own volition. It’s a known sign for weak writing in the book and film industry. You were on point with that assessment of Tessa!

And that they are still doing the movie like it should have been cancelled after the first one!?!?! unfortunately not that major. i went back and forth between using the original wattpad story and the audio version of the published books and they’re practically identical apart from the name changes

I am SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS! I'm 22 and I was in the 1D fandom so hard that I was reading the After series when it was still being updated. So stoked about the fact that someone who GETS what the fandom was like and the fact that you were able to justly bring in the context. It was refreshing. You brought up plot points that I totally questioned if I hallucinated and I did NOT. I'm so glad to see this being explored and explained because I thought I was the only person who has kept up with the movies and the plot and thinking that it was crazy that the more intense stuff from the books were sugarcoated. Anyways, I'll calm down now. Absolutely excited for the next one.
