- Yes, music lovers... yet another Vinnie Vincent update. I never thought I'd make one video about Vinnie when starting this channel let along a few, but hey... if you knew a train wreck was about to happen, wouldn't you talk about it too?
For those keeping score at home, Vinnie has promised 3 concerts so far and cancelled every single one of them. Diehard fans who have been waiting on the second coming of the Ankh warrior from KISS have been getting screwed by Vinnie at every turn.
Vinnie's cancellations have also meant fans having to cancel airline flights, hotel reservations and even fighting to get their $$ back on tickets. That's right, there have been reports of fans being unable to even get their money back on tickets to a show that never happened. One fan reached out to me after having no luck requesting a refund from the promoter. I suggested directly contacting his credit card company and report the fraudulent charge. Fortunately that route paid off and I'd recommend anyone else in the same unfortunate situation do the same.
Now that Vinnie has burned most all his professional bridges, he's left with an ultra-diehard fanbase and an upcoming birthday. Instead of issuing any kind of public statement, Vinnie sent a message to his fans in a couple of private Facebook groups indicating he was looking to have a birthday bash on August 10 in Nashville.
The contents of the message reveal just how mentally disturbed Vinnie truly is, ending his letter by telling fans "put your money where your big mouth is. "

For a guy who was once known as a talented songwriter/shredder, he has clearly shown that those days are well behind him. Any guitarist, especially one known for his guitar-shredding, would have already demonstrated these skills now over a year into his return to the public eye.
I sincerely hope Vinnie gets the help he needs and, as he promises, stops doing interviews and making promises he simply can't keep.
He's not playing because he hasn't played and he won't play. Only the fans are getting played and that's quite said.

You have a very good and accurate memory. That is 100% correct. When a former bandmate makes a comment like this you know it is true. No one from the "KISS" camp has anything to loose or gain stating anything but the truth.
I'd say the best comment given about Vinnie Vincent (And that was done without the guy actually speaking) was when Mark Slaughter performed at another Kiss convention, he appeared on stage, proceeded to shred like there's no tomorrow and did a KILLER show.
So why is this a comment on Vinnie Vincent?
- First of all Mark was the lead singer of the Vinnie Vincent Invasion
- Second, he played a Jackson Vinnie Vincent "Double V" guitar.
Mark's statement was "Look Vinnie, not only do I give the people every cent of their money's worth by actually showing up to play this gig but I can shred on a much higher level than you ever could and I'm doing so playing YOUR guitar!"
I'd love to get a VV model. I fucking Love his signature model, literally one of the best looking guitars ever.

The Vinnie Vincent saga is one of the greatest stories in the music business. It is the gift that keeps on giving. I couldn’t say it better than you did because you said pretty much everything. But it is amazing that he is still trying to extract the last drops of cash from his pathetic few fans left. And make no bones about it this is all about CASH.

I feel like Vinnie Vincent is the ultimate Andy Kaufman performance artist, just trolling everybody....and none of them can figure it out.
That actually seems more realistic at this point. There are lots of has-beens who need money and play mediocre gigs, but they do actually play because they really do need the money. I am sure Vinnie could get a spot on some "hair metal nostalgia" bill at a state fair if he really needed to. But I get the impression he really doesn't need the money. Even though he charges a lot fir everything, there cannot really be that many units moved. He just seems to like making trouble for the hell of it.

I'm somehow still in one of those secret groups on Facebook.... literally only 13 people said they were going to this birthday bash and two of them were the people organizing the event. You also left out how they are holding this thing at the same date and location as the Rock N Pod Expo.....the same expo Vinnie fucked over and lied about last year. Then Vinnie's lawyer contacted the Rock N Pod organizers and asked if they could tie the birthday thing in with their expo... when they said "hell no", Vinnie released ANOTHER statement saying that THEY asked HIM to co-promote their events! He literally just flat out lied. Unbelievable

I met the twin daughters back about 20+ years ago. I was traveling with the Kiss tribute band I played with & they were working at a gas station/convenience store, somewhere off the interstate in Connecticut. They were pretty cool girls. They were pumping gas & cleaning windshields & checking oil. Those were fun days.

Thanks so much for the new info. I can understand those who bought tickets & hotel reservations & all. Aug 10th should be interesting to say the least. Yep, there must be issues. I Can't understand the misplaced blame that Vinnie has. There's never any explanation for all these cancellations. There is no way I'm buying any ticket. I've always believed in " seeing is believing " . Talk & plans are all they are until they are actually carried out. I find it sad for the former fans . Losing your hard earned money to broken promises & not getting your money back is a real pain. 3 times a charm, what do you do ? I don't blame fans for not being VV fans anymore.
Cancelled his shows cause he can't sell enough tickets, obviously. And keeps the money he stole from the few foolish , naive fans he has left. There should be a dartboard with his face on it, and i mean his REAL face on it !
Everything Gene said about Vinnie in the past now rings true. I sometimes doubted Gene's truthfulness but its all now been proven correct by Vinnie himself. What a sad case of selfdestruction. He couldve been a legend.
More than Gene, I even believe Paul now. Pouring his backwashed stew/soup back into to communal cauldron and all.
It's like he is trying to erase his legacy for some reason or unreason.
Gene is the fucking man, I knew that after I heard his solo album. He has the keys to power in this life (a man that knows what he is saying) and in my opinion has done some of the heaviest songs that can make it on some of my thrash and heavier metal playlists with bands like: Testament, Pantera, Annihilator, and a Gene Kiss song can play right in between without any kind of weird break. Not for the innocent and dance all over your face are just a few examples of some my personal favorites from Gene.
Hunty Wabbit I fully agree with you. Gene has done some amazingly heavy songs. God of Thunder is the main reason I sing as I do. Tjose vocals were Detah Metal before the term was even invented. Gene has been a huge influence on heavy music's progression in my opinion, though many will disagree simply coz its KISS and they dont like KISS.

In KISS, Mark St. John and Vinnie were the members I knew the least about. I'm researching, but I'm unfamiliar with Ace and Vinnie's side, or post KISS bands. Fellow soldiers in the US Army told me, "Sweet, yeah. They kick fuckin'ass!!! Frehley's Comet and the Vinnie Vincent Invasion!!"

When you've been playing guitar for over 40 Years, you Do Not Lose your ability to Play, only get Rusty a bit, I am sure Vinnie can pick up where he left off, AFTER A FEW REHEARSALS UNDER HIS BELT OR DRESS...

Unless a KISS-cruise are arranged on a week to week basis, then his ability should be on a higher level.

Not sure many people would consider Vinnie a shredder at any point in time. His solo stuff found him playing faster than he really could, and it was just a bunch of atonal randomness. He was better in KISS when Gene and Paul could keep him in the pocket.

Yes, that's true. Vinnie has gone about this in a very strange way by performing only for a small group of fans with deep pockets. Supposedly, a DVD was filmed at a recent event but haven't heard anything else about it.

I were always a hardcore Vinnie fan, but it's now sadly proven that he haven't changed since 1980's. Also what Paul and Gene said is also proven to be true.

You know, I think it did happen and I may have already commented on this here when it was still so fresh in my mind. Lately, his fan events have involved steep admission prices and, surprisingly, he has proven that he still can play and even performed solo at a recent event for Kiss fans. He's been promising a live DVD and more but I don't believe any of it has been released, which is not surprising.

Just recently stumbled upon the sad state of mind of the one and only Vinnie Vincent. Although I'd heard his name mentioned years ago, I never knew much about him. After seeing several videos about Vinnie I was left wondering, "Is it me or does anybody else think this guy really isn't that talented?" After watching your video I realized I wasn't the only one. He obviously has issues and instead of riding off into obscurity, he seriously believes he maintains some piece of relevance. His time has come and gone... Sad that most people, except for Vinnie and the enablers who continue to prop him up, know this. Hopefully someone sits him down and has a long "honest" talk with him.

Thanks for watching and the comment! A few musicians have come out publicly saying they'll never work with him again, like Carmine Appice. He lives in his own world and has left a very bad taste in the mouths of not only fans but promoters and fellow musicians too.

Their was a gentleman being interviewed who said he was present. It ended up being at a studio, and according to him, only 30+ people were allowed to attend. They were only informed of the location, via text, 30 minutes before the scheduled event took place. Obviously he was one of the VV faithful. He stated as they walked in they could hear music playing, commenting some thought it was a CD. Anyhow, it turned out to be Vinnie in the studio, full complement of effects pedals and concert lighting. The guy was in awe! Claims that Vinnie was actually the true master shredder of yesteryear. His $300 was nothing for the incredible performance and time spent with Vinnie. I guess the lesson I take away is, "Never judge a book by it's sad cover." @@angeloinfante4260 Yes, the birthday bash happened and then there was another one late last year which was filmed for a DVD release. Will the DVD ever be released? If so, will he charge $500? I could see that as he overcharges for everything. I also wouldn't be shocked if he started taking pre-orders for a DVD that never materializes as he's pulled similar things before without a refund to fans. Again, thanks so much for the comment!

The video's description of "haters go away! Vinnie is back - and he told you so. Our new desktop experience was built to be your music destination. Listen to official albums & more" is still visible.
The description looks like something only Vinnie Vincent would write, and I wonder if the video that was uploaded was something entirely different, only to be taken down so that Vinnie could make people think the birthday bash actually happened.

One was a TH-cam video entitled "Vinnie Vincent Birthday Bash guitar Audio bootleg." The screen is black, so nothing can be confirmed.
A link to a Blabbermouth article infers the event lasted six hours, and contains a tweet from Shout It Out Loudcast featuring a photo of VV sitting in an empty banquet room with the Birthday Bash poster on the door.

@@RushTrader i just viewd whats been slapped on youtube. well the show from lights camera action point of view was good, as for the songs same old stuff nothing new, some lyrics had to be changed due to muslims taking offence , the thing that i noticed they had live cheering and screaming as if there was ppl at the show , but nobody was there. for me as a kiss fan of orignal line up i lost the passion for kiss way back in 1982.

Also, adding fake audience noise to a KISS show these days doesn't sound too far fetched when you consider most of Paul's vocals were likely canned anyway so just more fake stuff taken to a new level.

You forgot before he was with Kiss, he worked with Dan Hartman. Look up the video for Instant Replay by Dan Hartman. I'm not a big Vinnie fan, but why cut him up so badly?

He's blatantly and intentionally screwed over the street level people who've supported him. Imagine booking airfare and accommodations, and scheduling time off of work, only to find he cancels at last minute or simply doesn't show up. In his statements he actually blames the people supporting him. This is far beyond a slap in the face.
The video here had no critiquing of Vinnnie's playing abilities, past or present, so that aspect is somewhat irrelevant for the topic.

I believe it's the same one, only now it's official. I saw a couple of articles on major music sites saying VV has officially announced on his website a show on August 10, which is the same one, I believe, he told fans privately about. My favorite KISS live videos are the ones in South America with Vinnie for the Creatures tour. That's how I think of VV. Ok so he got old and went nuts. It happens to lots of us. As for him not playing solos recently, maybe he stopped practicing for years, or maybe he was crippled from stage fright.
