It's all smooth sailing from the moment we retrieve the correct passport and cross the border into Botswana, and our stay at Ihaha Campsite in the riverfront section of the Chobe National Park is an absolute stunner. Despite a little bit of rain, we are prepared, and have a great stay. Even with the swarms of bugs!
Ihaha campsite, run by Kwalate Safaris, is a great location, in an incredibly majestic part of the Chobe National Park. A completely unfenced campsite, elephants wander through night and day.
The campsites' feature great ablutions, with solar geysers and hot water, and wash-up facilities with cold and hot water too. The campsites themselves have braai facilities and a firepit, as well as a set of small built concrete tables to assist with preparations. But it's the view of the river that really takes first prize.

One of our all time favourite camp sites. Thanks for the video.
To keep the bugs away use a red or amber colour lights. Instead of white lights.

Great camp site! Nice to be on the river's edge. We use a bright light off to the side to draw away the bugs. Usually shining at a tree trunk or vehicle wheel.

Is it not safer to sleep in the car? I are traveling there soon and planning on sleeping in the car in Savuti and Ihaha. I think for lions is very easy to destroy the tent. 😅

I haven't heard of any incidents of people being attacked in tents by lions. I wouldn't walk to the bathroom in the dark though 😁

Hi, is it possible to drive from Ihaha campsite to Magotho campsite in August ? (apparently campsites in Savuti are fully booked).

Hi there, we haven't been to Magotho, but from Google Maps it looks to be outside the delta near Kwhai. So based on that it should be possible although quite a long drive.

Is it save to camp there? We read about people having some trouble from the guys rowing over the river from Namibia side and stealing stuff at night.

We had no issues while we were there. As we drove, we occasionally saw fishermen on the river who tried to sell us fish. That was our only interaction. We had no problems though.
