Thank you at least we know what happened now to Jacob. My son's case was declared accident although it began suspicious he was in canal and knew how to swim. Still Unsolved. Joanna has been with me the whole 15 years my son has been gone so I'm grateful that she at least knows what happened with Jacob but my heart breaks for my friend. She has stood in front of Courthouse with Posters of my son with me her and her children including Jacob have attended many candlelight vigils at the canal where my son was found. Now I will stand by her in whatever she needs.

Thank you Jared and AWP I wish you were around 15 yrs ago. My son Joseph walked that canal and did not find his brother thank God but 3 days later his brother found by a passerby . I tried to get a search and rescue team but Stockton has no dive teams. So when my son was being removed from the water the men were making jokes about how long it will take the rookie to get my son out of the water. I never got to identify my son or see him before we buried him I don't know if that's good or not but think I should have had the choice. So at his funeral all I could think is I want to open that casket but 1 of the guys ( in my son's police report of over 100 pages declared accidental drowning)a supposed best friend sat in front of his casket on floor whaling and crying. So then my focus turned to that supposed friend whom seen him that night and lied on police report as did many others. If you were around even though it was only a week missing you would have been more compasionate regarding remarks being made. Thank you for always considering the families feelings.

I feel for Jacob being down there for almost 2 months I think when authorities knew of cell phone ping action should have been taken here in Stockton we have no Dive team??? After seeing all those cars underwater hopefully Stockton will put together a Team. A lot of unsolved cases could be solved and my friend would not of had to wait and search herself for 2 months. Also there's no reason a barrier should not be there authorities have to know those cars are down there and that road is most likely why. Just unbelievable. Action needs to be taken and I will help his mom to make sure of it. Thank you

And a dive team for Stockton California ( maybe trained by Jared) because when his phone pinged if Stockton had a dive team they could have searched early on and we would not have had to wait almost 2 months and Jared found him in under 2 days. I never lost someone in a situation like this, but after my dad died it really resonates with me when another family loses someone and I guess I hope it shows some respect to learn and care about their loved ones and how they passed, as well as the struggle they go through to find that out. Well said. That’s why I don’t condemn this channel, because they treat every case and victim with dignity and respect. A channel like this could very easily just milk it for views and content but you can tell they actually care and want to honor the victims and give them and their family the respect and right level of privacy they deserve. It very easily could become too invasive as well which certainly would garner more attention but again, would be done for all the wrong reasons and cause more unnecessary trauma for the family. No death like this should be made a spectacle and I truly believe they have found the right balance of sharing the story, the discovery and the end result with minimal damage and upmost respect and curiosity. And condolences to you and your family. May you find peace. Know you have an angel watching over you now. 🕊️ 💐 Sending love from Florida!

It’s just knowing that Jacob was alive and desperately trying to save himself but unfortunately he wasn’t quick enough. Can understand that for the relatives' sake you don't really want to find their loved ones underwater, but if they really are there you do want to! Keep up up the great work you all are doing!
Just curious to know whether you've considered fitting hoods above your sonar-screens? Movie-production companies use them on their video-monitors for shooting both outdoors (as well as indoors) to reduce the amount of light shining on the screens.
Another tip is to carry a micro-fiber cloth along with a small spray-bottle containing a very weak solution of dishwashing-liquid to occasionally clean your sonar-screens!

It baffles me every time how many lakes, rivers and little ponds are in North America and how many roads lead to them. In Europe no one goes missing in lakes or rivers with their vehicles. Also nobody dumps vehicles in water bodies. That’s such an American thing.
I mean the reason is the lower price for vehicles, the amount of vehicles and the amount of young drivers but it’s still fascinating
