Your video helped me a lot, I was having many problems with my BMW E60 and your video helped me diagnose my problem. I swapped the TCM and now works fine. Cheers!
Best!!! most explanational .. love the video , people like me need information like this lol I already did the soldering on new used component on the married TCM because I broke off some pins on the transmission terminals installing the valve body ..wasn't sure if what I did was good idea
Great video. can you tell me if the P0705 code, (PRND) low input I am receiving on 2006 range rover hse, is old/low ATF or the range sensor failed? Thanks.
Hi thanks for this interesting video. It seems to me that most of the posts concern cars. But do you have any information on bigger vehicles like cranes. We have 2 identical cranes one of which has a defective ZF transmission. My question is: Is it possible to take the good one from the one crane and put it in place of the defective one on the other crane. Do you know where is located the TCM? Is it in the transmission itself? Thanks for a reply or a link where I can get some answers.
Hey, i have a 2008 BMW 535i and it's telling me that it can't receive a message from the electronic transmission control, receiver gear selector switch, transmitter electronic transmission control. I wad told I have to replace my transmission control module. What would be the proper procedure to do so?
What did you do? I am having the same problems. It doesn't drive. It can be in neutral and park. Light on R or D but the does not move. You can rev. But doesn't move
hello, I have a problem with my automatic 6HP28, parking postition does not engage, and the neutral flashes, I have 2 faults 400626 turbine speed sensor short circuit ala mass or break, and 400635 parking cable lock sensor L3 defective, can you help me for the problem, think you
Both the 400626 Turbine Speed Sensor and the 400635 Sensor L3 Defective can certainly point to problem with the TCM. BMW 7 Series 2007 to 2011 can use the ZF 6HP28 transmission, back in 1998 to 2004 the ZF 5HP24 was popular and now from about 2013 on the ZF 8HP has become a standard for BMW. If your system is shift by wire this problem may be accompanied with failure to come out of park. Is this a BMW 7 Series?
@@Motorsport99 www.thectsc.com/images/pdf/thectsc_mechatronic_replacement.pdf This link goes to a Mechatronic Replacement Hints pdf file that outlines replacing the ZF TCM. However be careful many times there can be considerable wear or mechanical damage to a unit that just replacing a TCM will not correct. The TCM itself has no moving parts and does not have a defined wear out mechanism. Yes, it can fail but many components of a high mileage ZF 6HP will show considerable wear. Check the plastic oil pan for debris and the magnets in the pan for metal.

How did you flash the new TCM for your VIN?
@@TechnoMonkeyFarm In my case there was no need to program the TCM but it is not difficult to do if you have a dongle and the software.

It's been a few years, did your repair hold up, and what type of solder did you use? I'm considering this approach.
Hi, do you know for 2009 BMW F02 740Li the generation of my ZF 6HP valve body ?

Sir I Accidentally bend 2 of the 16 pin connector tried to straight them out and broke! Now do need to buy the whole unit?
Hi. How did you manage to weld the newer model range switch to the connectors? Are the connections for the 2 ramge switches the same?
I'm from Indonesia, may i ask ?
How is the cover removed? It is held on by at least 6-8 clips. Did u break any clips to remove it to get to where u need to solder?

Do you know what generation ZF6HP26 is in the 2006 range rover hse?
I'm trying to repair my 2007 LR3 with a 4L. Mine is the early design.
