  • In this video I show how to diagnose and repair this 2006 BMW 525 xdrive by testing the valve body solenoids due to the trouble code that leads us there.

    Hi, I have a 2006 range rover sport diesel that is not engaging reverse, I took the valve body out and yellow and green soleniods are reading 6.7ohms while the black one is reading 10.7ohms. Are these normal values?

    I have a BMW 530i 2004, and the transmission was worse than that one. I put it in reverse, clicked and went back to neutral, turn off and back on, and the problem was resolved, all the time.. then the transmission didn’t shift gears. I was agitated Cause I called a few mechanics and with checked my car. We're talking about $2500 for a used transmission... GUESS WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS? IT WAS LEAKING FOR A SEALED AND DIDNT HAVE NO OIL $350 job 🎊🎊🎊😜👍💪🏽🙏

    Does anyone know what the brown solenoids are supposed to ohm at? I have brown/yellow/green they all were 5.1-5.2ohms.

      Apparently I answered my own question. There are no brown, at least afaik. They’re orange, blue, and yellow. According to the paperwork I got with my Sonnax zip kit, they should all(yellow, blue, orange) be 5.05 ohms. Black 11.5 ohms and green 24-26 ohms.
      The ones I took out of my 6hp21(‘brown’, green and yellow were all 5.04-5.05 ohms for ref).

    My yellow and blue solenoids measure 5.5 and the black one measures 10.8, is that a good value?

      Yes ... as per specs ... go see Sonnax 6HP26/28 specs sheet ... see also their Solenoid Vacuum test tool which also tests the fluid valve for correct seal operations.

    Start my 645ci, put it in drive, one has one gear. I can get up to almost 90 mph but it won't shift. My iDrive screen doesn't work. Possible problems and solutions?

    The solenoid with the 1.4 ohms. What does this imply. Still haven’t gotten a response to my email. Great work

    How do we know if tcm is malfuntion

    • @DTEAuto
      @DTEAuto  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      it would be hard to determine if so, you would have to just replace solenoids and see if problem is still there and if so then maybe at that point can assume the tcm is bad. It's difficult to determine because you cannot do any testing of it during operation since it is inside the transmission

      @@DTEAuto the code is 4f58 egs.. what does it mean?from Philippines

      @@DTEAuto I already replace the solenoid.. the main issue b4 replacing solenoid is just during 4th gear It would stuck up ,once it stuck up it won't lower or higher gear.but once stuck up turn off the key and start again the gear back to normal the again once it reach to 4th hmgear stuck up again, that is why we replace first the solenoid ordered from online.. after replacing solenoid there was a shift shock Ang it stuck 2 and 3 gear ... I told the supplier that it might be the solenoid were defective the they answer that it might be the tcm according to the code 4f58..

    Appears to be 1.5 Megohms, very high resistance and bad solenoid.
