Where do you see this chemistry? Those two leads couldn't have been more miscast. People seem to be excited about them only because they see their favourite story being made into a film and because the leads are conventionally attractive and masculine presenting. They're giving Jensen Ackles in Supernatural, when Misha Collins said "I love you" - it's that bad.
A PROPER gay rom com! I'm so excited. The actors give off amazing masculine energy and I think from what we can see, they have great chemistry together. I'm glad we're getting something other than a coming of age story cause that's been done so many times before. And it looks like they have an actual budget for this one!
@@Imetwurld_ No? But Young Royals is about literal children falling in love. It's cute but that's not appealing to some people. I'd much rather watch a romance between adults. That's just my personal preference though.

It's incredibly funny, because in the book it's actually "The Queen" ( though she's called Queen Mary ), but they made it a king in the movie so they wouldn't "offend" the royal family, but now the Queen's dead there's a king xD I do highly recommend the book though, it's amazing!!
I’m just so happy that we’ve come to a time when it’s not so impossible to imagine a son of an American president and a prince of England falling in love and becoming a couple and having it be accepted. How far we’ve come…..
Also, in case it wasn’t clear in the trailer, Uma Thurman is the President so it’s the son of the first female president falling in love with the prince. This is a bit of a book spoiler, but I can also say the book has great representation when it comes to lube, travel size lube is mentioned more than once.
Sorry to keep commenting but I just LOVE Alex 😂the way he leans forward at the start to check the princes whereabouts/ when he is approaching has me cackling every time. He’s so fun
As someone who know the book forwards and backwards, I really enjoyed your reaction! It's always nice to see more people discovering this story, and I love your enthusiasm. I have high hopes for the movie, and I hope you'll enjoy it too 😊
The book is absolutely one of my favorites! The story is written incredibly well and does a great job of giving an accurate representation of our community and the struggles that we have with a twist of being in the public eye. The movie looks like it’s staying true to that and I’m beyond excited for this. I loved your reactions! You both have to read the book!!
I love how you instantly started writing the fanfiction that this book has produced over the last 4 years! My opinion - book after movie. For our enjoyment mostly because coming at this movie unbiased and with your usual insight into things will be the best! The hype for this movie is probably because this book became popular because of tiktok- it having come out at the end of 2019 - and it creating and carrying a fandom through the pandemic. And yes- Stephen Fry!
Yes it will be a lot more fun for us if you don't read the book before doing the film reaction! I've read the book and it's definitely above average as a romance novel but it didn't blow my mind or anything. But there are a lot of fans who are totally obsessed with it and a bit hyper focused on what the film might change or leave out. Honestly, if the film lives up to this trailer I'll be very happy!
One of the things I LOVE about the book is their emails and texts and love quotes they send to each other. They're hilarious and sweet and I want someone to write me love notes like that. I hope they kept it all in the movie.
Highly highly highly recommend the book! It’s an easy read and so good!! Maybe after the movie though, I’m curious to see someone’s take on the movie who hasn’t read the book. Also, if you like Nicholas Galitzine, who plays Prince Henry, you must watch Handsome Devil. It’s an Irish movie with great LBGTQ+ friendship representation.
Oh I forgot he was in that. If you need any more incentive to watch, it also stars Andrew Scott (aka Hot Priest from Fleabag, Moriarty, Gethin in Pride, etc)

I recommend listening to the audio book! The voice actor does a terrific job, and there are so many other characters in the book (but not the movie) that are also amazing!
my favourite bit is that they cast two queer actors to play the biggest homophobes ;) also i'm sure you know, but the screenplay was adapted and it was directed by Matthew Lopez of Inheritance fame!!

The thing about this trailer is that it tells you so much of the story, but it doesn't actually tell you anything about the major drama coming in the story, and hints at some of the relationship, including showing off the first kiss. I'm extremely excited to see how this movie turns out, and though I know there will be elements of the book that I'm sad isn't going to be a part of the adaptation, I think it is definitely going to be a fun and emotional journey, and I'm already obsessed with what's been shown in the trailer. Also, you guys had a very fun reaction, and I'd love to watch your reaction to the movie when it comes out!
Since you haven't already read the book, I would say wait to read it until after you see the movie. There are a few known key plot/character changes that have some fans of the book very upset. The trailer honestly has it tied for me. I absolutely love heartstopper but this is new and interesting. I don't know how I only find out about these things last minute. I found out about heartstopper a week or so before season 1 came out, now this.
I loved the book, I highly recommend it. I would say the casting is pretty accurate, I love both actors their chemistry is crazy and I'm so excited to watch the film, although I'm afraid it won't be as good as the book... So that's the downside on reading the book first
Love your reaction! I loved the book, too. My first impression based on this trailer is that this is a full-on romcom, but the book really doesn't have that kind of vibe. It's romantic and super sexy and intimate, with a lot of layers to it. It certainly has its funny parts, but I'd never classify it as comedy. I'm really looking forward to the movie, but I'm fully expecting them to be different -- and that's okay!

Yes, I would recommend you watch the movie first. As you said, you'll be able to enjoy it on its own merits and then you'll have the book to look forward to! The book is pretty dense, so there will be lots of extra content that won't fit in the movie anyway.
I watched the movie then went and got the book. And still keep watching the move many more times since. You might recognize the one actor near the beginning riding with Alex in the car. That's Mia from Love Victor. Also Greg Berlanti from the movie Love Simon helped in making this movie.
The book was soooo good I loved it, so many scenes are in the trailer. I’m gutted there are some changes and characters not in it but excited, it should’ve been a series!

Josh, I’m not a reader either so I wasn’t familiar with the book until folks on Discord started talking about it. This sure looks like it’s going to be fun! Hopefully the US character doesn’t act like some of our politicians ( not naming names). Thanks for the shoutout regarding the fundraiser. I’m happy to help.
I agree with the others who’ve said it but I would absolutely recommend the book! It’s a great read, will give a lot more detail naturally, and I think could be easily done before the movie releases. It seems like they’ve definitely translated the comedic moments to film really well; I’m personally still a little cautious (but hopeful!) about the romantic and intimate moments. But overall I’m super excited for this! Nicholas Galitzine (Henry) has played queer roles before - worth checking out Handsome Devil if you haven’t, it’s wonderful
The President’s son and the Prince don’t need lube. They have smooth diplomatic relations.

YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK, you can wait till after but at some point you have to read it! (i read it in 2 days)
this is the best trailer reaction video I've seen 🤣I would love to see your reactions to the film when it comes out!
“You’d be the pillow” KILLED ME
Read this book! Either before or after watching, but it is fabulously well written. 10/10!
Loved your reaction - I am rereading the book at present and hope they don't sanatise the story too much. Really looking forward to the movie
I binged the entire book in one sitting when I read it a year ago. I’m so excited to watch this!!
Throw me, daddy. Throw me! 😂😂😂😂 You guys are so funny, I laughed my head off just watching this reaction clip. Keep on!
The novel is amazing! I’m excited to see what they do with the movie.
I love how you both shouted Stephen Fry at top to of your voices. The book is brilliant though xxx
