I'm just putting it down right down now. Like a domino.
the fact that carlos got mad at lisa for yawning was absolutely ridiculous. he acted like he never yawned before 😭
This! Carlos was a real psychopath. Yawning gets you slapped and punched: got it! 🙄
@@dlinkster everything literally bothered him
Ngl.. I never really sat back & thought about it, but the fact that she yawned & he got pissed is actually INSANE😭😭😭
Exactly😮 he is narcissistic
Or like she could control it.
The speech from Cicely Tyson’s character always makes me get goosebumps. She was such an amazing actress. She is sorely missed.
Nah fr though, that speed hit home
It was completely improved.
Cicely Tyson’s a great actress forreal. U know she be speaking facts.💯
That part where Madea says, “I loves Harpo but I’ll kill him ‘fore I let him beat me” is a line from The Color Purple
That part where Madea says l love harop but kill him fore let beat me
Think he's too young to know what the Color Purple is 😂
The girl in the back: "who's harpo?" 💀💀
Forgiveness doesn’t mean reconciliation. Just because she forgave her mom doesn’t mean that they will have a relationship.
The way you hit the floor after Carlos slapped Lisa! 😂🤣 Her man was kicking her butt and Madea taught her how to play gritball and use a cast iron skillet! 😂 Ooh and her mother was a piece of work! She was a straight up narcissist who didn’t care about her daughters, just herself, control and money. And the way she talked about her own grandkids! 🤦🏾♀️ The woman who played Lisa in this movie was the love interest to Shamar Moore aka Hondo in the TV show SWAT. I liked Vanessa because she’s been through a lot and was guarded but when the right man came along she let her wall down. The soundtrack for this movie is so good!
I like your breakdown! I appreciate the support😂♥️
He fell to the ground like he got slapped
Tyler Perry movies are weird if you really think about it. One moment you get a serious plot about domestic turmoil like something out of a Lifetime movie (with a sprinkle of a Hallmark movie plot), and the next moment, you get a psychotic gun packing Mrs. Doubtfire.
Nah facts, sometimes it’s hard to really lock in .. it’s always changing lmao
I think it shows how black people especially from a certain generation deal with pain. We joke a lot. My family in a lot of ways is like this. Idk if it's healthy but it is what it is. And we're not the only ones
@@carladavis1473exactly
Carlos: "I love you to death..."
*Next scene: Fart Joke!*
It also comes from the basis that these movies were originally stage plays. The theater productions will typically throw really intense drama against music and lace it with comedy to keep audiences engaged and to throw in something for everyone. That’s where the big gospel element comes from also.
56:42 so satisfying. Cuz she said she never HAD to fight for herself and she finally did. After being mentally and emotionally manipulated her whole life she finally made a choice and she chose herself.
Sadly with abusive relationships, it always looks easier to leave on the outside rather than being in that situation. It took me a year to leave a toxic relationship, but that was mainly due to him threatening to hurt himself or me.
I'm glad you were able to get out of that situation, may God continue to bless you and yours ✌️ ❤🙏.
Thank you for being strong enough to leave
Yeah the fact that her mother did that always shocked me especially since it’s trauma inducing for most yeah some ppl just accept what happens hopefully it changes and this movie is just so good with the messages sent
Amazing message.. I wish more movies got back to what’s really important..
GIRL
@@Therealbabyap whattthhhdidd I DO??!
I'm kinda happy SL took something from that moment where Boris was talking to his woman and trying to reassure her that nothing was going to happen to her or her kids when they're with him. It takes alooooot of emotional maturity to understand that her outrage wasn't because of him but because of what she had been through and what she never wants her kids to experience. Good job SL! You're getting better at analyzing raw moments and I love to see it!
The sisters situations happens a lot on the black community especially in the older generations where a young woman was touched and no one addresses it the sweep it under the rug and kept secret for years and it’s really sad and causes alot of trauma
That bus scene where Madea says "I love Harpo, God knows I do but I'll kill him dead 'fo I let him beat me" that was hilarious & from The Color Purple
Nephew you definitely have a lot of life to live. I grew up in an abusive house and been a therapist for over 20yrs. There's so many reasons why someone wouldn't "just leave" that type of situation. If you ever have questions about how/why people operate the way they do, feel free to ask.
OAN, them playing Al Green after she threw the grits on him was an inside joke because Al Green's girlfriend threw hor grits on him back in the day causing 2nd degree burns. Shortly after a couple of other crazy incidents, he turned to the Lord and became a preacher. 😂 Another great reaction as always.
1) Same, I’m also so glad that he has this community to turn to when he doesn’t fully understand.
2) That’s hilarious and I wish I knew this earlier 😂
The fact that you couldn’t understand why she can’t “just leave” even when he was actively threatening to kill her if she did so… it says so much.
at the end of the movie she left ANYWAYS idiot.
Exactly...
@@sl_1kbe so fr☠️
What was your emotional intelligence looking like in your early 20s? At least he has the sense to acknowledge how much he has to learn. Give people some grace. 😒
aww
The irony of Keke starring in this movie and the main plot ended up actually happening to her in real life…
What her being in foster homes 😢😢😢 and being bullied
@@alexandraanderson3988No, her boyfriend abused her.
He’s back!! I literally watched this movie religiously with my family and we had all Tyler’s movies I grew up on them! So I’m so happy you came back!
I’m back for good! Be on the lookout more content on the way🫡🫡
56:18 So for those that don’t know, the song playing is “Love & Happiness” by Al Green. Al Green is notorious for his girlfriend throwing a pot of hot grits on him after he refused to marry her. Thus, Al Green has become synonymous with hot grits. And that’s how we get the gritball scene.
Really? For some reason, I thought that was an Isley Brothers song
This movie is freaking hilarious. Tyler Perry has played three characters in every movie, Madea always make me laugh and things get crazy
🤪🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣
This movie is sad more than funny 🤷♀️
Having Cicely Tyson and Maya Angelou in this movie was the best gift ever, so much wisdom from those women ❤.
I swear if Tyler dont do anything else, he gonna have a fire soundtrack. I be getting my groove on. 😂
So happy you’re doing this one. I think you’d really enjoy Daddy’s Little Girls & Madeas big happy family . Those are 2 more of my favorites if you get chance to check them out.
Coming soon! Stay on the lookout🫡
Even Confusions Of A Marriage Counselor Was A Good Movie The Family That Preys Is Other Good One Too
When I first watched this the “I shot tupac” MY JAW DROPEDD😂😂
The way I was laughing hard asf the whole video 😂😂😂
I appreciate the love, glad you enjoyed♥️
1:00:59 You not knowing that the singer at there wedding was the legendary Johnny Gill from New Edition is pure INSANITY but I'll let it slide because you young 😂
If it makes you feel any better, I didn't recognize him right away either, and I'm mos def NOT young lol
The older woman in the yellow shirt, that is Maya Angelou, one of the best Writer / Poet to ever live!
Imma always love the grit ball😂 it was soo satisfying “I shot tupac” is such an insane line and over a parking spot. Btw I’d say some baby oil and a belt will do wonders for Kiki
don’t be giving ideas.. that baby oil technique need to stay in whatever year it was left🤣
@@sl_1k 💀💀💀
This one, a family that prays together, Madea's big happy family, A Madea's Christmas & Madea's boo Halloween are my favorite movies
Yeah Lisa’s character was underdeveloped. They used her more as a plot device. I do wish they gave some of her perspective instead of relying on viewers to understand abuse victims.
"You are a breath-taking reflection of God's heart for me. For how he pursued and loved me, even when I didn't love myself. You held my hands in the darkness and pulled me out into the light" 🥺😭
One of my favorite madea movies growing up.
I had to pause @ 36:50 to make this comment because the realization that you still have some maturation to do when you saw how frantic ole girl got and your first instinct was to put her out lol. I love that you understood that there might be things you still have to learn because it's very rare for a man to see that. It struck me because I usually watch your content for laughs, but I loved how thoughtful you were in that moment when it dawned on you that more growth was likely necessary. If we could all be as self-aware as you we'd be much better off. Thanks for the content!
That’s love I appreciate you♥️🤞🏽
Love your TP reviews! Here’s a tidbit, when she threw the grits on Carlos, Al Green was playing in the background. The same thing happened to Al Green in real life, he wouldn’t marry the woman he was messing with so she threw hot grits on him when he was taking a shower. He turned his life over to Christ after the ordeal.
R.I.P. legend Cicely Tyson
Oooo yes I needed something to watch while I was braiding my hair, this is one of my favorite Medea movies. I recently watched it on peacock and man, it was so entertaining.
Hopefully you enjoy the video!😎
The guy at the wedding who was singing was Johnny Gill he was also in New Edition group
I do not know if anyone else pointed this out but the actors were not allowed to see the wedding venue decorations ahead of time so that when they walked in they could get their real reactions on camera.
"I might faint if a girl says that to me." Lol aaaawwww
It’s not a SLK vid without hearing “really dude?” 🤣😂
Lmaooooo😂😂
So Carlos is banker right but he also worked in a bank in Set it off his chick left him that’s why he so abusive now and possessive 👀👀👀
Omg I forgot about that😂 Stoney the reason Lisa get beat 🤦🏾♀️
28:54
The way how you grab the fan like you gonna say "whenever the wind takes me"😂
Chaka Khan ate that song at the beginning😭🕺🏽
Factsssa😂
I just love Madea. I have all of the movies and plays on dvd. Lots of comedy but they deal with some serious issues too.
Lynn Whitfield aka Victoria is a vision and great actress
You really aint seen all these movies you reacting to?😭😭😭😭 like its literally my whole child hood you be reacting to. Bless your heart you been missing out
He's only like 20. He was maybe 5 when these came out lol
0:03 why he fell with Her😂
That scene with all those old men looking at that girl is a million times worse when you remember they’re at a FAMILY REUNION! 🤢
Dude, my favorite part about this review is the realization in his voice and in his eyes when he recognized that he had growing to do because everyone woman (And man) has trauma they deal with inside.
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🤞🏽🤞🏽💜💜💜💜💜💜🤞🏽
They doing the electric slide in every Tyler Perry movie
Fun fact: the hot grits situation actually happened to R&B singer, Al Green. Some woman he was messing thought he was cheating on her and she threw hot grits on him while he was in the tub
19:29 movie line is from The Colored Purple. You should do a reaction to it.
Please do it
I love the self reflection @36:25 😭
Not you picking up the fan as luggage when telling her to leave 😂😂😂

The "Harpo" line is from The Color Purple movie😂😂😂😂😂
Boyyyyy you funny as hell 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I appreciate you!🤣
the npc 2k face is crazyyyy😂😂🤣
The show Joe was watching is Good Times about the Evans family trying to make it in the time period and environment they were in. Janet's character was Penny an abused child who eventually escaped her abusive mother to live with Willona (a friend of the Evans family). It's a good show to watch through I used to watch it all the time with my Granny. Funny, raw, and real they tackled a lot and it was great 10/10 would recommend
In the late 70s early 80s Janet Jackson was in 3 TV shows. GOOD TIMES, DIFF'RENT STROKES, and FAME.
Now you gotta watch the color Purple to get the harpo line😂😂😂😂😂 the one from the 80s lol with Whoopi Goldberg.
That Harpo line is from the color purple
she traded her so the devil could give her Prada, and I honestly don't think she loved any of her daughter because she groomed one to get RP and encouraged the other to stay in a abusive relationship, that wasn't love that was greed and selfishness. and now that I think about what she did to her eldest is the somewhat the something her mother did to her FOR MONEY their grandmother give her daughter up for $10 and a fix and the mother gave her daughter to man just live a life luxury. and she gave her other to man who beats her just so can have access to her daughter trust funds, this is way i always say "blood don't make you family"
Woah that slap was a jumpscare tf I WAS NOT READY
You should react to the movie ‘Obsessed’

It's really hard to leave a person like that, especially when you don't have a good support system.

7:48 the amount of times I rewatched this.. Your reaction took me OWT
😂😂😂😂😂💀
Edit: you’re hilarious!
I love how excited you got when you recognized Cicely Tyson 😂The other woman they were speaking to was Maya Angelou 🤍
My favorite part was when Lisa finally chose herself an no longer allowed her mother Victoria to live vicariously through her. Lynn Whitfield is one phenomenal actress but was the Mother from hell in this movie. As far as Vanessa goes I can relate to her being guarded because I too am a Sexual abuse/ molestation survivor . It really does affect you when you become a adult. Therapy really changed my life & now I’m a Certified Mental health advocate & Trauma recovery practitioner. Plan on going back to school for Psychology/ Behavioral health. In the Black community we’re so used to sweeping everything under the rug til it’s not even funny. If we ever wanna HEAL we must first confront & talk about the issue. We can’t HEAL what we don’t REVEAL‼️
She didn’t leave because she didn’t, truly, believe she had anywhere to go. Her Mom would NOT have helped her. Her sister is a single Mom with two kids ie. doesn’t really have a whole lot of room for her sister to move in. All their friends were more “their” friends rather than hers. Plus, he and her mother kind of just had her believing she wasn’t worth anything. She herself also admits that she doesn’t think she’s strong enough to stand up to him. Even after everything with her Mom and sister happened - this is what she “knows.” She’s scared because she’s never had to do things on her own - leaving Carlos for good means she loses EVERYTHING she’s familiar with. In her mind, at least if she stays, she knows what to “do.” She knows how to navigate Carlos’ anger basically. Her choosing to leave in the end was her accepting that she was going to have to build up from the bottom without all the comforts she’d grown up with.
“You about to iron the belt”🤣🤣🤣
This the only way I’m watching movies now 😂 I get tired of talking to the movie alone
“Now you a police best friend?!”🤣🤣🤣
That design in the thumbnail is very creative. Nice work.
That means a lot bro, I appreciate you🤞🏽
I’m glad you’re reacting to this so that you’ll hopefully learn more about these situations and the psychology behind the people experiencing this. It’s unfortunate that I’m younger than you and I understand where she’s coming from but it’s also just a sign that you’ve been a little more blessed than me in that area. I hope you come to understand that it’s hard to “just leave”.
He has to watch beauty shop
That's a good movie
And maybe underworld series idk if he saw them or not
I never understood why people in abusive relationships leave at night. It just makes sense to leave in broad daylight when he goes to work. You'll be gone with all your stuff before he even comes home.
It the fact he fell out the chair 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
