Fun Fact: In the scene with Madea and the chainsaw, that was Tyler Perry’s actual house they ripped up. After the movie came out, Tyler had to come out and say that he’d never film another movie at his house because of all the damage. Another fun fact: Judge Mablean Ephraim was famous for being the real life judge on the show Divorce Court
Being in a nursing home isn't just for elderly who are senile, have dementia or alzheimer's disease. They could simply have a physical disability or medical condition that makes it unsafe for them to live alone.
Helen went back to take care of him because she did love him (past), but also 18 years of marriage. It was her last act as a wife, but she should have explained it to Orlando so he could have waited for her without the extra drama.
Obviously we needed the drama/j LOL. But maybe why she didn’t was because she was always so tired in her conflict with Charles that all she had was rage. She wanted to do her final act as a wife as well as finally getting even
The actor Shamore Moore who play as Orlando in the movie. You probably recognize him from the show Criminal Minds as Derek Morgan and the show S.W.A.T as Hanzo
I remember being a kid and watching this in theaters then going home and watching Set It Off because the difference between the characters she played was wild
You missed the "wire hanger" reference. There's an old movie called "Mommy Dearest". The mom finds a wire hanger in her daughter's closet, freaks out, and beats her daughter with it. I've re-enacted that scene so many times, because although it's not meant to be funny.... it is...
Same, she should definitely check it out When I was young (before I saw the movie) I was playing when my mom and aunt told me to help them clean, I responded with "yes, mommy dear" and got in trouble until they realized that I didn't understand the reference and they had me watch the movie. I became obsessed with the movie and that scene lol
@@jamedraa8472 Dude that movie traumatized me for years. Between this and the mother from Carrie I'm honestly surprised I didn't develop a fear of middle aged white women. Lol
“He can’t breathe help him up” MJ had me rolling when she said that 😂😂😂 …. But Me & my brothers always die die laughing at that part of him in that tub trying to breathe
Fun Fact: The Little girl that sings "Father Can You Hear" almost at the end of the movie that's Tiffany Evans who also performed songs like "Let Me Be Your Angel" " I'm Grown Ft Bow Wow" and "Promise Ring ft Ciara".
@@sagittarius420cheefie true but different situations like I can do bad all by myself, plus he got a lot of ppl recognition and they are black actors so it’s a lose lose win win
Kat was not the first to comment about this. There's a whole Boondocks episode about him. I have nothing against the man. I think he's doing some great things, employing a lot of people, and making people feel seen. I don't like ALL his projects. But I don't have to shyt on them.
24:38 maybe but you should remember this woman has only been with one man. 18 years of marriage is so long you probably can’t comprehend it. She spent about half her life with him
Shemar Moore (Orlando) may have still been in soap opera acting mode in this but he did get better. I loved him in Criminal Minds. Plus that man is so fine I'll forgive him a lot in his early roles. 😉
To be in a nursing home they don’t necessarily have to be ill or anything just old and he didn’t have space for her I’m assuming to take care of her as well
6:03 You see how Brenda started acting completely brand new from when they first met? Since Charles has booted Helen, she probably feels like she doesn't need to act nice with her anymore. Even if Helen obviously got no heads up about this like she probably did. Kicking her out on their anniversary of all things...
I don’t think she was too hard on Orlando but she was still rebuilding herself and he had made some unintentionally rude comments and came on too strong. She’s getting out of an 18 year marriage and who knows how long they were together prior to that. She needed to get to know herself as a single adult.
So big difference between this and the play. She gets back with Charles at the end of the play. But this leads to another huge difference, the love story between Helen and Orlando is miles better in the movie. In the play, he comes across as a little too cocky and chipper talking to someone who just went through an awful divorce. I never saw his love for her as genuine in the stage version, it felt like someone swooping in as soon as he sees a woman is single. The movie does a much better job with the passage of time and making Orlando seem sincere, understanding, and loving. And the final difference relating to Charles and Helen in the play, he leaves. He doesn’t throw her out. Tyler Perry cites that as the biggest reason the ending was changed, because audiences wouldn’t be quite over what he did to her in the movie. But I’d argue Orlando being a more likeable character also justifies this ending more.
Another great movie you react to. Interesting, you mentioned hero syndrome. I think it was the same in Norbertz when Kate came back into Norbert's life.
If I'm not mistaken, I "think" Helen is Madea's step-grand daughter. I think that's what I heard before 'cause yeah, that part where Joe said she wasn't kin to him used to have me confused too. lol
Luv your energy MJ ❤❤ Gr8 reaction. I just subbed. Since you've already reacted to "WHY DID I GET MARRIED" the movie, you should watch "WHY DID I GET MARRIED" the play that he started with that the movie was made from! It's gr8 comedy with serious life lessons.
So the man who shot Charles after his sentencing is named Gary Anthony Sturgis. He’s mainly a voice actor and musician originally from New Orleans hence his accent and dialect. He’s played many different small roles in a few of Tyler Perry’s movies and sitcoms.
Nice reacts for this movie. My goodness you're always beautiful inside the most. Not outside. I like your hairstyle. Brenda should go jail for letting Charles died in hospital and steal his money away from him.
Girl I just love your reactions, you are truly my bff in my head😂😂 you should definitely watch “Daddy’s Little Girls”!! It’s not a Madea movie, but it’s one of my favorites of Tyler Perry
This movie is beautiful to me. I’ve seen men hurt the women in my life, and I have my own crappy personality and behavioral issues I’m working through. The idea that someone can be better and God can pull us through our darkest times just gives me hope
I love this movie. I watched this when I was 6 years old for the first time & I still enjoy it at 19 years old. Also, I don’t know if you spell it as Koda or not but he is so cute. 🥰🥰🥰
Well Shemar Moore did get his start in a soap opera so maybe that's why he comes off as a soap opera actor. You tired of him wearing a bandana, I'm tired of him wearing the Tyler Perry braid wig😂
takes a strong will to love somebody, takes a stronger will take keep that marriage and love strong. love me all the maeda movies always making me laugh

He always had one on cause his braids were fake AF 😂
C'mon now, you know Tyler Perry wigs are infamous for being trash!💯😆🤣
My brother once said that Madea is the comedic relief in her own films because the plot for the main characters is so tragic.
Oh wow, from every Tyler Perry story I’ve watched, definitely true.
i agree!!

"putting your foot in it" just means she put some love, soul, and seasoning in the food
