  • Akrapovic Titanium Slip on Exhaust and Alpha Performance (AMS) high flow air filter installed by Porsche Barrington. Sound clips just don't do it justice. Throatier sound, titanium rasp under load, burble city, and about 4 dB louder in sport mode. Sport mode went from my least favorite mode to, OH BABY!!! Negligible difference in normal mode with the valves closed (quiet), and a bit more shove at the top end in sport and sport +. SPORT mode is the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BY FAR. Noticeably louder in the cabin, turbos faster like sport plus, throttle response is razor sharp. My overall impression is that these are high quality products from two of the top aftermarket manufacturers. Quality exceeds OEM. Special thanks to Porsche Barrington for outstanding service and a satisfied customer.

      Thanks Ben. Im cracking up, i need better equipment..lol. I actually have a decent mic (edutige -the gopros mic is terrible) but the shop noise and wind noise was out of control. There were two fans blowing straight at me in the shop. I shouldve used the lavalier mic in there and if the channel takes off ill get a proper setup for sure. Thanks for watching :)

    Hey Pete. Sounds great! Looks like you have good friends at Barrington. Do you recommend a service tech and an advisor? Thanks!

      P Life no rush my man! I’d love to hear your opinion of the shorter gear ratios in the T versus the base model. Maybe if we could have a video of that?

    nice, what sort of setup did you have to record the sound from the back of your car??

      Go pro hero 5, a mic adaptor, and edutige ETM 001 microphone on a $20 suction cup mount from amazon.

    Very nice. Have you considered tuning and replacing the stock cats with sport cats? I am receiving my T in December and was considering the same exhaust. Do you mind listing how much you paid for the exhaust and the cost of labor? Thanks

    • @plife911
      @plife911  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Chris. I almost did cats but didnt want to risk CELs and felt guilty about the extra pollution. Tune is definitely on the radar for next spring. As you can see I went on a mod extravaganza :) I bought the exhaust from someone on Rennlist that only used it briefly so the cost doesnt apply in my case. Its over 6k new. The dealer charged 4 hours labor plus tax so it depends on the hourly rate. (Barrington gives 15% discount on labor for PCA members). Hope this helps. There should be a video of stock vs cobb soon.

      Do you notice any performance improvements with both mods?

    • @plife911
      @plife911  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just a little. Biggest change is sport mode, which was my least favorite before. Now its my legit favorite. Throttle and turbo response are way better. Sounds great inside and out. Car pulls a little harder when you max it out but you need to be driving aggressively to notice gains. Its not like a tune... not even the same order of magnitude

    Hey on a different note what wheels do you have on your T? These look awesome to me. Any new videos coming?

    • @plife911
      @plife911  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe at that time I had the stock wheels on. I need to make a vid with my Aston Vantage. T is gone, and the guy who bought it also traded it 🤣

      P Life The T is gone... I loved the videos with the T, I own a 2018 myself. May I ask why you traded it? Would also love your thoughts on the T vs the Vantage.

      The 7 speed wasnt that great and I had a mid life crisis :) Got an R8, then sold that, and leased an aston martin Vantage. Vantage is best car I've had yet. Video on the radar once this corona business slows down.

      @@plife911 Yeah that 7 speed.... 7th gear is totally useless. Definitely looking forward to those Vantage videos. Thanks for sharing all your experiences with the T, you had the best owners content in my opinion.

      P Life can’t wait for footage on the Aston! On another do you know what wheels were on the other T in the exhaust comparison? These look awesome too!

    Does the exhaust retain the electronically controlled valve modes with the stock onboard buttons?

    • @plife911
      @plife911  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, stock valve actuators mount onto the akrapovic muffler. Exhaust button works (if you have sport exhaust from factory)

  • @michaelchang6872

    Rather disappointing. Sounds very close to stock. The turbos are so restrictive.

    • @plife911
      @plife911  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its not a huge difference. Maybe 20% louder with louder pops and a different tone. It makes decent power tho. If you want alot more volume tou need to either get high flow cats or do a cat delete. Cat is obviously not legal but is very loud.
      Ps the mic doesnt 100% capture the differences

    • @Nord_Mann

      P Life do sport cats pollute more? They are road legal aren’t they?

    • @plife911
      @plife911  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they do. These are primary cats. For obd2 emissions (in most us states) it doesnt change the readings but these will probably fail the tailpipe smog measurements. The exhaust manufacturers state these are for racing not the road.
