hey team and like your videos about explanation! Have one -> is there a need of anti-spark switch for using with VESC 4.20 ? or no need ? don't know whether VESC supports it but there is definitely some supports about cut-off voltage. VESC4.20 is exactly like on your video and planning to use custom built li-ion 18650 6S2P battery 6000mAh (supposedly battery can make ~30-35A peak) Let me know news and thx again for great channel with explanations /Alex

This video is fantastic! Thanks Mike! You’re the best!
Question: Mike if we are using a Dual FSESC4.20 Plus from Flipsky should we still be cutting the battery current max and battery current max regen in half? It’s 1 Vesc but controls 2 motors

    • @MBoardsco
      @MBoardsco  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

If you are using an All-in-one dual vesc, you’ll still want to divide by 2 if you have to program 2 sides.
If you only have to program the entire thing once, you would enter the full amount.
      Hopefully that makes sense!

How do these 2 numbers make sense together? If you could answer my question that would be great. Thanks for your super helpful videos

    • @flavioernst902

You can think about it like a step down converter. The coil current is higher because the duty cycle is not 100% and the rest of the current gets pulled from ground because of the induction of the motorcoils. Motor current defines the torque output ot the motor and the battery current defines the power output. Usualy only 1 limit is active only in one rpm/torque spot both are active. Hope this helps. Even if a little late...

Hello! I completely converted a Xiaomi 1S for 6 months and worked on the scooter with a 48V 1000W motor with Hall sensors and 3 motor cables with 30 Hall magnets. One question PLEASE: updated my VESC 75100 with FW 5.02 to 6.02 and all the settings are great but the speedometer is correct in the air 100kmh but when driving the VESC app shows e.g. 70-75kmh and GPS from Play Store only shows 50-55kmh and at VESC at RT speedometer start screen e.g. 85kmh and GPS from Play Store second app only shows 60kmh instead of 85km! I must have a problem in your video at the minute: 13:23! It says Motor Pulley and Whell Pulley and I never change that and just always press "direct drive" and then Motor Pulley and Whell Pulley are grayed out so they can't be adjusted anymore! And then I do the run test, the rear motor turns and always shows like yours 49A Motor Current and Sensorless!! And whenever I set up the Hall sensor always USB cable on the computer and in the app again and again when checking the motor it shows Sensorless. But I have 5 Hall sensor cables + 3 motor cables! But please Can you tell me what the Motor Pulley and Whell Pulley are called in German? What do I have to set? As I said, I have a 48V 1000W motor and it has 3.1kg, an aluminum motor with 30 Hall magnets! But I once used Motor Pulley 30 Magnets set and then the VESC app only showed 35kmh or 65kmh! Please what is meant by motor pulley, what do I have to enter? You have the best TH-cam video with settings on TH-cam and I hope you can answer that for me. PLEASE! I just want to know what Motor Pulley is and what I have to enter there! My Hall magnets 30? Because I always press direct drive and skip this entry with motor and Whell Pulley! Kind regards. 🙂

I am an RC guy and this is the first time hearing about a VESC. I use brushed and brushless RC ESCs. I have recently been playing with e-bike/scooter equipment which is a whole different world. RC ESCs and motors and e-bike ESCs and motors do not work with each other. It looks like a VESC will work with normal RC equipment. Will it work with e-bike/scooter hub type motors? RC ESCs do not. I had to rig a PT01B interface to the hub motor controller to be able to control it with RC radio equipment which is not very good due to those controllers reference the signal at the bottom and an RC ESC references in the middle.

This is my first dual motor VESC setup. I’m currently configuring the VESC and the motor sounds like it doesn’t want to spin or as if it’s having a hard time spinning. When I run the detection, motor spins fine, however when I try to setup the Remote and to calibrate it, that’s where the motor doesn’t want to spin.
    What can cause this issue?
    Setup:
    (2) 5s1p battery 8000 mah 30c
    (2) C6374 motor
    (2) 4.12 Flipsky VESC
Battery Current Max: I had it set to 25 Amps
Battery Current Max Regen: I had it set to -6

      I'm having this issue:
      vesc-project.com/node/779
Within the PPM Pluselength Mapping section. I don't have any red lights, I can see the receiver on the VESC is receiving communication however the motor makes this weird sound(as if it doesn't have enough power)
Example: Skip to 40 secs, it's identical however mines louder, I've lowered the cutoff like him however still not working.
