I purchased the bn m1-at gear drive. Was told they had the 10mm motor pinions to match my Lacroix 6389 stock motors but changed after I purchased saying they can't find it anymore. So I purchased new flipsky 8mm motor shafts for the 63100's to fit the 8mm gear drive pinions. I installed everything. I was told only take a few mins to reprogram motors and gear drive 3.95 gear ratio (if needed) in the storm core app alone initially. I ended up downloading the vesc tool and thought it was running properly until the battery ran out of juice. Apparently the battery has not been charging over the few days I was running the new parts. The charger shows green, green generally tells me its fully charged but its not charging so I'm guessing I have not input the numbers correctly on stormcore/vesc tool. Any help would be so appreciated. I would love to Venmo or Zelle anyone who can help! Thanks either way! I'm almost there! I'm guessing I need to properly adjust the battery numbers. Hey Pavel, this video is everything that I needed! Excellent job! I was so confused how to configure this. Anyway, I have a question that maybe you could help me to answer. I have te Torqueboards Direct Drive motors with the Focbox Unity. When I do the run derection it only does about 28 amps per motor, but when I do the same run derection without the sensors it will go up to about 78 amps (which is the brand says would make). Do you know how to make the motors runs up to 78 amps with the sensors connected? thank you!
Hi mate , Thank you. So to understand this correctly, you do the motor detection with sensors plugged in and it does detect motors at 28 Amp on VESC but if you inplug the motors then it detects them at 78 Amp. Correct? If above is correct then something is strange.... Are you setting them up as hub motors or as outrunner large? Have you tryed to set up with sensors plugged in and then just increasing the motor Amp in the vesc to 70 Amp?
@@PavelGarmas Almost exactly like you said. The motors are always connected, but the first time I setted them up without the sensors connected and I've got about 78 amp. Then the second time I connected the sensors and setted them up again and is showing the 28 amp.
@@PavelGarmas Thank you for your patience! this is my first esk8 build so definitely you helped me a lot! I just got one last question. Do you know if you could switch between profiles just with your remote?
Question: Battery Current Max Regen - in your example you used 30Q, which has a max CHARGE rate of 4amp per cell not 30AMP...So surely you would get 4amp and times that by the amount of cells in the P group, lets say 5p in our example, to give us a total of 20AMPS regen, which has to be split by 2 ESC. So 10 amps per ESC regen.. Putting 25 amps per ESC (50 total amps), would surely be charging each cell at 10amps each? Wouldnt that cause issues?
Hi mate. Thank you for the quotation. My view is ... if the cell can discharge at 30Amp, it can recieve 30 amp for short duration. All my battery packs are set to 25-30 Amp regen and no issues. I do not consider the regen as some power saving as it is very negligible gain however motors would heat up more if energy is not taken away. You should set it to what you think is right...my videos is the way i do .

Level 1 = 12km/h
level 2 = 20 km/h
level 3 = 35km/h
I would be happy for a Answer ❤️
That is true but unfortunately bike will loose a lot of power and speed as soon as you hit 19%. Tested many times.
ny vesc sometimes doesnt respond for 10-15 seconds then starts running normall. Is it rebooting ?
Should not be like this... is it on PC or phone?
@@PavelGarmas its on ebike
Did you have an issue with having to push off before the motors spin up ? From a stand still I just get shaking no forward movement.
Nope...no issues with that. Sounds like your sensors are not working.
Check all the wiring again, check phase cables. Do the detection again. What esc are you using? If Trampa vesc then check the voltage switch to see if it is 3.3 or 5.5 volt for the sensors.
Ubox v2 sensorless motors . Thought maybe a bad phase connection or a vesc tool setting that I was missing. Thank you for replying.
@@stephansmith300 sensorless...ok . You need to set them up HFI
@@PavelGarmas oh okay I'll give that a try . Thanks
I don't know how to get to the VESC tool screen that everyone is looking at on a PC. Are you looking at an android app on your pc? I want to connect from USB and set it.
Hello,
I have a flipsky 4.20 vesc and I currently have a problem. The remote is connecting to the vesc (can tell it from the LED's) but it's not showing up when I want to trothle it. And besides that it's only spinning one motor.
Maybe you can help me out with this issue.
Thanks!!
Hi
What battery do you have on your build?
What is the firmware on the esc?
If 5.3 then you need to activate the remote ppm ot uart ...not sure how uou are connected.
Is the " dual esc via canbus" true or false in your settings?
@@PavelGarmas hey, sorry to butt in but I have a bluetooth connection issue with my new spintend 100/75 with 5.3 FW. It says it doesn't recognise the firmware when I connect with the Vesc app. Wiring is all correct. Can you elaborate on what you mean in your reply above, about UART and PPM? I think this might help my problem..
@@ollieb7019 Does it work with 5.2?
@@ollieb7019 sorry maby silly question but is the phone App compatible version to 5.3?
Thanks for this excellent tutorial.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for the nice comment.
Why is there no RPM dial on the dashboard??
not sure mate...i don't use it so its fine for me.
Hello and great video btw
One question, if you were to use a dual motor esc with a single mcu like a focbox or a storm core, is it still a requirement to program both sides of the vesc? Thanks.
Hi mate. I have noticed that most of the times slave side of esc gets the setting over with no problem however most manufacturers do recommend to check the second side by plugging in.
#Pavel Garmas Hello, I have a question, I have iOS, I updated the firmware and my bms disappeared, and I don't have a battery chart and I can't charge the skateboard, could you help me solve the problem?? I restored the versions to the previous version.
Hi. Vesc tool doesn't control bms.
Its the stock Lacroix 12s4p p42a 21700 molicel but Lacroix is closed so I can't call them for correct numbers.
El motor recibe señal por los sensores imagino, pero no le llega la corriente para acelerar,el controlador recibe la señal porque cuando acelero se enciende la luz en el,y si le doy a la rueda con la mano marca en el mando la velocidad, podrias ayudarme?

Hey Pavel, this video is everything that I needed! Excellent job! I was so confused how to configure this.
Anyway, I have a question that maybe you could help me to answer. I have te Torqueboards Direct Drive motors with the Focbox Unity. When I do the run derection it only does about 28 amps per motor, but when I do the same run derection without the sensors it will go up to about 78 amps (which is the brand says would make).
Do you know how to make the motors runs up to 78 amps with the sensors connected?
thank you!
Hi mate ,
Thank you.
@@MnTrXuP set the motors up to allowed Amps. So if you know they can take 75, set them to 75 and try on the bench.
@@PavelGarmas Thank you for your patience! this is my first esk8 build so definitely you helped me a lot!
I just got one last question. Do you know if you could switch between profiles just with your remote?
@@MnTrXuP profiles no... not at the moment. It is very easy to do by using metrpro dongle and app though.
great video Pavel !!!
Thank you mate 👍 glad it was helpful.
Another question I have, you only changed settings on the primary ESC, does the new 5.3 tool copy settings to the other ESC over CAN now?
Very good question! It did in my case and has done before however it is best to check both sides to ensure that all settings were replicated.
Does the setup support Japanese?
Good question... not sure to be honest. Most people speak enough English to work with the tool as it is.
Да ладно тебе Павел, можешь говорить на русском.
Mogu i ja proboval no ne poshlo.
