@@dabd8175stating that many husbands have a similar issue is in no way saying that “the females” don’t have common issues either… The original commenter never claimed that. You don’t need to get so defensive. Both sides of a relationship have a ton to work through because we are all flawed individuals with selfish desires and past traumas. But again, there’s nothing wrong with pointing out a common husband issue; in fact, you can only control and fix yourself, not another person, so don’t automatically throw the blame onto “the other side”

I'm glad that the caller is seeking help early. Besides the already great advice Dr. John gave him, he could see an anger management counselor, to help give him more tips on coping with his emotions in a healthy way. He sounds like a good guy. I pray for many decades of Joy for the marriage.

Yep that’s how my dad was, super sweet then my mom finish college made more money. An that’s when all hell broke. Then he lost his long term job ( he painted houses on the side an he was close to retirement ) that’s when verbal abuse really went up to high gear

I'm sorry but your response makes no sense.
The reality is that just like my husband... As men are different.. some men feel super pressured just from the fact they are married. The whole routine changes and the changes are overwhelming. It's literally taken my husband and I over a year to even get a routine of having personal space. Everyone needs personal space and I believe if he isn't taking care of himself and giving himself that time to be refreshed it can bubble up and we tend to take it out on those closets to us
