One of the things I hate about fantasy viking like people is that despite living in a frozen tundra, they all seem to forget to cover the upper portions of the body. I dont know if that's part of the trails that aspirants have to fight bear chested, but if not, then I imagine most aspirants would die of exposure long before they found a monster.
You're right, however in this situation I believe the aspirants have already been slightly modified considering they're sprinting along the tree branches as if it was a treadmill.
I mean the homeworld of the salamanders is quite literally just a volcanic wasteland but it's not as bad as the jungle fighters or the space wolves worlds.
The Space Wolves are among my top favorite chapters. They are honorable, they can see value in normal humans if they're brave enough and they tore the Grey Knights a new one.

If you need to explain space wolf trial to anyone in the military, its as if SAS did whats already the hardest selection but across siberia instead of Wales, dodging wolves the size of bears and bears the size of elephants and theres no Return To Unit (or tribe) for failure.

Something I haven't seen pointed out in any review on this ep is the age of the Neophytes. You can see that they haven't gotten the Black Carapace YET.... even tho they are already enhanced these boys are less than 16 years old.
I don't know how you feel about remastering these videos but it really is cool to see the effort and reflection upon your past work. The pervious versions were good I think, the current versions you're releasing are great! Good lore breakdowns that really pick up on the details we miss. Also the beginner lore is crucial for some people with how expansive the universe is. HUGE props to you for your commitment and your passion for Warhammer. I'll always support you as a creator because you seem to love what you do here, also it is cool to hear your thoughts and opinions as well! I do like a good tangent here and there. :)

It was a pyrrhic victory for the Wolves and I think they needed Grey Knight help b/c Magnus attacked the entire Fenris system with help from Nurgle and Khorne Daemons.

Considering how in depth and well put your analysis on the warhammer universe is I do have a question about the space wolves as a whole. If their world does get destroyed by Magnus what are their options to continue their recruitment?
Primaris Marines gave them a new lease on life and successor chapters. That wasn’t true before. They just as easily could become a fleet based chapter and recruit on worlds they wage war on. Some chapters already do this. Also there are a lot of Death worlds in the imperium, they could pick a new one. Valhalla would be a good candidate as they already have a hardy population used to the cold and bitter warfare.

There is a modern day equivalent I live near Daytona Beach Florida. I have watched Canadians during January out on the beach and nothing but shorts so I get it real Floridians don’t go to the beach until it’s at least 75°.

The continent it is on doesn't experience on the same upheaval the rest of the planet does, so the ground is stable. Fun fact, it was stable enough for there to be caves that the first colonist to the planet built cities in (rather than live on the unstable ocean or the deadly surface) but something happened down there that killed/corrupted everyone so they were abandoned and it is now forbidden to go there.
Basically a combination of forced evolutionary virus and Tzeentchian shenanigans messed with the original settlers in the cave system. Part of the reason why there was a Tzeentch helmet in the water scene with the wolf in the foreground. The lore is super deep on this one.

These challenges are stupid when you think about it, a strong and a cunning potential space marines died because they did not have luck yet full fledged space marines die like flies when facing the tau, tyranids, chaos demons, chaos marines, eldari, orks and the necrons... there's nothing this trials do that increases a chance of them surviving in actual combat against other factions, they are just limiting the stock of good men needed in the war machine...

Although I think part of the idea behind this trial is that they have no shortage of aspirants from this ruthlessly tough and uncaring planet. Due to the Space Wolves Chapter not being “codex-compliant” this is their way of safeguarding their geneseed by only giving it to the few. The more any Chapter recruits, the less their stock becomes and the less likely their apothecaries (wolf-priests in this case) are able to recover their limited amounts of geneseed from Astartes corpses that get scattered in battles across the stars.
Yeah this is a silly take, I dont think this guy understands the lore. this isn't the astra militarum, anyone who wants to fight can join that, and the biggest resource the Imperium has is people - thats why they make servitors, easier to lobotimize a person than make a robot lol. To be a space marine is an honor that only the very best can become, thousands die in every chapter's trials I'm pretty sure and even if you survive the trials there is no guarantee you'll live through the extensive surgeries. Space marines are definitely not op and can and do die a lot Im not arguing with you there. But the chapters basically ALWAYS have fresh stocks to recruit from, I mean they likely have aspirants on a planetary scale and some chapters recruit from multiple planets of millions or billions. The Space Marines are the Emperor's Angels not common soldiers

Polar bears are massive even though food is scarce near the poles.
predators tend to be larger in the cold so they have more fat to keep them warm.
