Darn got my recliner stuck in one of those deep ruts. Although good news a tame manatee came by and pulled me out. Said his name was Brock A Soris or something like that. Said he was looking for you. Said he wanted to take you to lunch or have you for lunch can’t remember which. So be careful out there Brock and keep your friends close. Only 7 more days. PS: GREAT RIDE.

That Garmin charging problem, is solvable it need a 3. amp input. the bikes accessory port doesnt deliver the power needed. Garmin FAQ: Updated the charging requirement for the unit.

The cable is different on the XT2. You need the upgraded cable for the extra power delivery. Mount is the same as the XT, cable is different.

I am looking for the most challenging part of the BDR. I will be on the KLR 650 that I have taken on many off road rides. I have spent many hours on both my KLR and my KLX 250 , usually on single track so I am an experienced senior citizen. First question : What part of the Georgia BDR would you recommend ? Second question : What is the best place for spotting manatees ?

Manatees can usually be seen early in the morning at most water crossings. But be careful. Don’t go near the water.
The most challenging section is 1. From ellijay to suches.
I also love popcorn road and the Charly creen areas of section 3. It’s actually more fun for me
