Thank you so much for showing us the chicks out in the the big wide world. It hardly seems a moment that they were all in the nest, tiny and featherless and looking like they were all beak! I wonder if they will move further away in the spring so that they can find partners of their own, and whether the whole family will stay close by each other for the winter. Our Robin fledglings are looking great, I've just seen them this afternoon coming down for baths, they have more red on them each day, they are just beautiful. Unfortunately, we have a very sad little stray cat living in the corner of the garden, he has clearly had a very rough time of it and I'm sure he has been very badly treated by somebody, but we are trying to look after him and encourage him to trust us enough so we can get him into a box and take him to a vet or a shelter. I love all animals as I'm sure we all do so it really upsets me, but of course we aren't getting as many birds and that's one of the main things I love about the garden! "Mog" has started coming a lot closer so hopefully we can grab him soon and stuff him into a carrier of some sort and have our lovely birds back! Anyway I am really looking forward to your future wildlife and beekeeping ventures - good luck with all of it 😊

There are so many 100s of baby birds at my feeders this year. We had the invasion of the 17 year cicadas during the nesting season so momma's and Pappas had an overabundance of food. Now we are swamped with lots of babies 🙂
I only fill my feeders once a week. Takes them about 3 to 4 days to empty them. Then they have to forage for a few days. Don't want these babies to be lazy and not learn how to forage.
Thanks for the wonderful videos. Will be watching the bees too!
    Be blessed.

I was quite sad about that, naturally, and I still call for it in the hope it will return but it's not to be. But today a new little baby blackbird arrived in the garden and so I spent an hour or more with that one this afternoon letting it get to know me and giving it food. Let's hope she's comes back tomorrow and spends a week or two while she grows and finds her feet. :D

We saw two chicks about a week after we stopped seeing the parents going in and out of the nest.
Just saw the chicks that one day and never again.
I cleaned out the box a couple of days ago and there was one dead chick in the nest.
This was our first year having the box up so we were pleasantly surprised that a pair took a fancy to it straight away.
