  • 💪 ‪@fleeceperformanceengineeri9556‬ PowerFlo Lift Pump utilizes the techniques to prevent air from entering the fuel system, just as major OEM fuel system suppliers have been doing for many years, as their preferred method for non-aerated fuel delivery. Draw straws are subject to two major issues. They don’t allow the customer to use the full tank of fuel, and they will suck air when low fuel levels and rough or pitched road conditions are present. Although tank sumps theoretically allow you to use the full tank of fuel, they will also suck air when low fuel levels and rough or pitched road conditions are present. Lift pump systems currently on the market also create aerated fuel by returning their fuel to the tank from an elevated height in the tank. The conditions noted have created the need for some lift pump manufacturers to create an air separation device within their modules.

    Just installed on a 2007.5 Duramax 3500. Excellent kit. VERY much liked the factory friendly wiring and plumbing, probably the main reason we chose this vs an external pump. Ours was suspected of collapsing suction tube and/or debris restriction suction in the tank, P0087 code with trailer.
    - Had already replaced faulty suction hoses at engine per the GM TSB and faulty Fuel Pressure Relief Valve = fixed High pressure commanded and actual Fuel pressures. Was still getting P0087 but the fuel filter had almost no fuel in it when repriming after Low Engine Power warning.
    - Tank was very clean, about 5ml MAYBE of fine particles in tank. Fuel test at test port before Fleece kit = 2in hg vacuum at idle, 4-5in hg at full throttle driving. After Fleece kit = 11.5psi at idle/part throttle/cruise driving, 7psi at full throttle driving.
    Cleaning the tank is imperative, must do. We removed the tank because the truck had a 5th wheel hitch mount installed. Reaching the fuel neck and vent hose clamps is the hardest part, especially when reinstalling. Be ready to eat a lot of sand and gravel if you remove the tank. We would prefer tilting or removing the box for next install.
    Stay gold.

    I had been waiting for somebody to make intake fuel cooled lift pump and mine has 2 gear motor lift pumps and one plugs into factory harness and the oth pump has its own wiring and reley and fuse so if one goes out you still have the other one to get you home .

    Just installed the Fleece PowerFlo FPE-PF-GM-0104 lift pump on my 2002 LB7 with 165K miles. Install was easy once I disconnected the fill hose from the truck bed. My fuel tank was very clean inside. Being I recently replaced all my rubber fuel lines just because of age, I decided to replace the 2 soft lines at the tank with braided stainless lines. The new lines were difficult to connect. Test drive was fine but I noticed a weird engine idling sound at a slow speed right before stopping. I tried to record the sound with my phone but that didn't work well. I bought a vacuum/psi guage to run some checks from the test port. I don't have any prior install measurements to compare to.
    -After Fleece install and power disconnected, I see 23 in hg vacuum at idle. If I try to drive the truck, it dies and won't start. With power connected, I see 9 psi at idle and 6-7 psi at WOT. I also have a new stock fuel filter and filter head. I contacted Fleece and the PSI readings are what’s expected. Not sure about the in hg vacuum reading. Vacuum seem high.

      With power disconnected to the pump, the intank pump will be a restriction. I wouldn’t imagine that a correct vacuum reading could be obtained with that change in the circuit. The LP pressure sounds a little high, and could be causing the rough idle, present that thought to Fleece and see what their thoughts are.

    What about water a separator? Doesn't it work by sucking fuel through it rather than pushing? I just need to know before deciding to get it. Running a water separator is very important for me.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  ปีที่แล้ว

      With a pump in the tank configuration, we are pushing fuel to the water filter/separator.

    Do they make two mine has 2 gear motor pumps and at idle it has 21psi and at hard pulling a load 18-20 which is great and had a lifetime warranty.

    I have a stock LBZ. Biggest performance mod I plan to do is a DSP5 tuning. Knowing that they're different products, why would someone want to consider this lift pump over a Airdog/Fass? Pros and Cons. Thanks.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really isn’t a brand thing as much as the NEED for a lift pump with the Duramax’s. The PowerFlo is a great choice if you are looking to fuel the performance upgrades that you are looking at.

    Will this pump push through an aftermarket inline small micron fuel filter plus the oem filter and still provide enough pressure at the motor?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      It provides enough flow with the stock filter. Without seeing your extra filters specs I would be hesitant to say.

    How many Amps is the pump? The old FASS Titanium systems were 5-Amp and the new Signature systems are 10-Amp.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normal running it will be about 8 amps, but depending on load it could touch 16 amps on heavy demand.

    • @dnlmachine4287
      @dnlmachine4287 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pump wiring kit comes with an add-a-fuse including a 5amp fuse. Instructions recommend and show it installed in a 10amp switched ignition fuse slot. fleeceperformance.com/media/wysiwyg/FPE-2019-37_FPE-34789.pdf
