Hello everybody! In the meantime, I created my own in-depth, no-nonsense hiking guide of the Skye Trail. You can find it here: floordenil.com/en/product/hiking-guide-skye-trail-set/ Have a loooooovely trip! 🌹
Beste Floor. Solo; je inspireert me. Stay save en enjoy your life.
My favourite place in the entire world. I have sailed and hiked on Skye, the other islands and the mainland opposite. I have had most of my best experiences there and it has given me my most treasured memories.
Absolutely breathtaking journey! Solo hiking for 134 km on the Skye Trail is an incredible feat. The scenery and your storytelling made this video an inspiring adventure. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
What a cheery video !The sun lit the right person on her hike about Scotland.Beautiful shots of the dreamy mountains, coastline and tomato's.Thanks for a bright spot in my rainy day.!! What no Haggis?
Hi Floor! Yes I'm hiking the Skye trail this Christmas.Like yourself I'll start from South to North although it's actually meant to be hiked the other way round.I'll landing on Skye on the 23rd Dec,walking from Broadford to Torrin,(stage 7).Staying in an Air B and B.Now,this the bit you didn't attempt,to hike Blaven( Bla Bheinn/the Blue Mountain),hit the summit then down along the waterfall and stream towards Camanusary Bothy where I'll be staying Christmas Eve night. Will stay in the Bothy for about 2 nights before hiking through Glen Sligachan to catch the bus back to Fort William to hike more Mountains.Would like to know where you are from,at a guess I would say Swedish🤔.Hiked Ulriken from Floyen in Bergen in July,11 miles in total loved it,going back there next July!!!🇳🇴
great video :) have done the trail some 5 times - if you ever come back, consider doing the Bla Bhenin top variant - its for me the highlight of the trail - amazing view on the 1000m top
Oh wow, is that a stuffed animal polar bear! I hiked the Colorado Trail with my own personal pet seal. I really want to see you come to the U.S. and hike and film the Colorado Trail (4-5 weeks). Your videos are wonderful and I love your sense of humor. Isle of Skye is now on my list.
Better weather than the West Highland Way and I think you are far more experienced. That makes your experience of the beautiful place better. Its been a long time since I watched your West Highland Way video, I did not remember the midges but I could understand you as someone who only speaks English.
Hi, I’ve just started watching your hikes- I see your links of the music down in your descriptions but is it your voice that I am hearing singing the songs. So beautiful. A grandma aka Nay Nay , just enjoying hiking videos.
Hey! It’s music that my friends made, so not my voice :). They do have beautiful music (and voices, of course!), so definitely worth checking out their projects!
Awesome video! I'm glad you got such great weather conditions. I was there for a few days in April and there was a full week of sunshine. Noone could believe it 😁This was a good year to hike in Scotland it seems. Being able to wild camp anywhere there is just soo nice.
Beautiful hike! Nice to see you handling long distance hikes much better than some years before, no, now you seem to 100 % enjoying them! How much you laugh! :-) Midgets ;-)
What a beautiful video, Skye trail is definitely next on my list! This summer I just did the Trans Caucasian Trail (just the Georgian part in Svaneti), I really recommend that one to you, I am sure you would love it :)
Well done Floor, great trail vid, interesting shots and music 👍 I did the Skye Trail a few years ago made my own vids. It was awesome, inspiring and magical! Subbed 👍 Justin
What a beautiful trail! Will you make an extra video with tips and your gear? I was especially wondering how to get there in the most efficient way, since it’s such a specific spot in Schotland.
Your narrative (and comedy) are always uplifting. But this video was fantastic in every way. It seems weird that I see some very similar vegetation(heather, ferns, thistle, poplars, same wildflowers) in your film that I am familiar with at much higher elevations in the North Cascades. Anyway: brilliant hiking and film making. Thank you.
Hey! That's because it is! I took a drone with me, but only dared to use it once, because I didn't want to disturb the surrounding areas/wildlife/hikers with the noise of a drone. Will definitely use it a bit more in my upcoming videos :).
Wonderful. I was in Skye back in June, it’s a beautiful place, full of history. Films on my channel. Hint, hint. Oh, and great dinosaur noises Floor. 🦕
Leuk! Aanrader!
Hi Floor, I was planning to walk the Arran costal path. You have persuaded me to walk the Sky trail South to North from the 24th May😎 How did you get back from Duntulm at the end of your walk ?
Absolutely stunning cinematography. The pacing is right and the views amazing, really enjoy seeing you do non busy routes. Do you think you would be up to do something crazy like sunmiting Mont Blanc?
Ah damn, I wanted to add that story to the very end of the video but forgot! I didn't at first, couldn't find him on the internet, so I took the fannypack all the way to the end of the trail with me and dropped it off at the police station at Portree. When I got on the bus from Portree to Glasgow, I heard some people talking two rows behind me, so I looked back, and... Recognized the face on the passport!!!! What are the odds, it turned out to really be him, véry funny moment on the bus, haha! So I told him I dropped it off at Portree and he eventually got it back. Alls well that ends well!
Hi! Just recently I stumbled across your videos and I love all of them!! In 2 weeks I wanna walk the Massiv Trail from north to south. :) And btw if you love beaches and mountains have you considered the lofoten crossing by foot?
Hey Noor, zalige video! Grts!1
Lovely video, I really enjoyed it :) But what happened after you arrived to the middle of nowhere? :D How does it possible to go back to the closest inhabited area?
I have very small ears, so got mine made to size at my local hearing center. These are especially made for sleeping, so they don't stick out as much as others! If you don't want to spend a lot of money on earplugs, I find the ones made out of wax to be comfortable too. These you can just get at your local pharmacy.
Great video again, Floor. Was there in June but couldn't finish it because of a sun stroke - In Scotland, I know! 🙃 th-cam.com/video/n8WU5Tzb9yU/w-d-xo.html
Great video and editing but I have to be honest Scotland leaves me cold. No trees, no beauty and why are there no trees because of subsidised sheep farming. Also means no wild animals are allowed effectively.

This has to be the most beautiful video about the Skye Trail I have seen so far. Great job.
I really enjoyed the music, thank you!

Having my morning coffee with another beautiful video from Floor 🤩 And yet another travel destination on my bucket list 🥰
The best video edit you’ve made so far!

Amazing video. Loved the soundtrack to it as well!

I hope to do it one day, or the Hebridean Way 😍 !! But just thinking to have 7 days of bad weather terrifies me.
❤
Weer een mooie hike zeg! Eindelijk deze he ;-)

Yes, a video is coming! And you can just get there by bus out of Glasgow :).
Extra bonuspoints for the brico city plastic bag!!
I would'nt lay on the grass in the Scottish highlands like you do. Its full of Tics, I know, I live here.
Generally in the fern/bracken.
They really are vile creatures, there seems to be a proliferation of them this year.
Tics ?
@@TestNick__0000 Parasitic arachnids. They can carry Lymes Disease. Horrible things.
Can confirm layed on Scottish grass this summer picked of 17 ticks 30 minutes later

Thank you for sharing and keep on inspiring us. How to get back from the end to the 'normal' world? Groetjes uit Halle.
Haha Halle!
Thank you for this great video. May I ask you what kind of tent you used? I'm looking for a solo hiking tent! Thanks in advance!
Hi Floor, I was planning to walk the Arran costal path. You have persuaded me to walk the Sky trail South to North from the 24th May😎 How did you get back from Duntulm at the end of your walk ?

How do you charge your phone during longer hikes? 🥰 Isle of Skye looks gorgeous btw! Thanks for sharing 😄
I take a powerbank with me and charge it in towns if I pass any! Thank you :).
Lovely video, I really enjoyed it :) But what happened after you arrived to the middle of nowhere? :D How does it possible to go back to the closest inhabited area?
I hiked to the nearest road with a busstop, that was about 1,5 away :)!
you made my day, I also went through this path in July 2023, but you can make a better video :) greetings!
which earplugs do you use? I can't find any that don't hurt after some time (i'm a side sleeper)

I'm sorry, but my anxiety needs to know: did the person get their fanny pack bag?
Imagine how gutted we are when we go to mainland Europe and they don't give us a proper pint 😭😂
